Video of Owen Hart's death?
Kind of a morbid question, but I have to know. I have seen the video of Owen Hart's last comments backstage before he was to go plummet to his death. How come the video of his death has never been leaked to the internet?

Touchy Subject.

The video WAS leaked onto the internet, and I did once download it, but I thought best not to watch it, and deleted it. Curiosity almost got the better of me.

There is no video of his actual fall, as when that happened the wwe was showing pre-match video footage hyping Owen's match. The rest of the video shows JR constantly repeating that something unrelated to storylines has happened to Owen, and that this is all real..with just shots of the crowd for about 9 minutes. That is the video footage that is on the net. There is nothing else. You will never see the fall, or Owen in the ring.

I dont know why people always wonder about that.

There actually is a picture of Owen lying in the ring after the fall, i've seen it. And a fan did tape the fall, thats the video thats floating around.

Actually, if you download any video of it on the net, like say from LimeWire, it's usually something completely unrelated, like an ECW stunt or some other stupid incident that has nothing to do with Owen Hart's death.

And yes, the video does NOT exist. Anywhere. People always ask this.

The thing is, when Owen fell, it was dark because a promo was playing on the TitanTron, and everybody's attention was to the screen. Therefore, not even handheld video cameras were pointed to the ring at the time.

Yes, there are photographs that exist out there, taken by spectators, but it's nothing to talk about.

You probably only think that the video floating around is real. I've downloaded it many times out of morbid curiousity as well, but nothing was ever the real thing. So I'm convinced it doesn't actually exist.

I believe that picture may be in Martha Hart's book "Broken Harts" on Owen's death. I have the book, but haven't checked the pictures for some time. It is one of the most depressing books I've ever read, but I highly recommend it.

Yeah, I downloaded it. It's just some extreme stunt from some indy fed. I sent the guy I downloaded it from a message telling him that it wasn't the real deal and he was like "Oh, really?".

The tape of him doing his pre-match promo is creepy to me. When I watch it, I keep thinking "This man is just moments from his death and he doesn't know it". Blows my mind.

A number of weeks ago there was a thread in this forum by MiguelBahena, who had found a picture, doctored by someone on the internet, that was basically taking the piss out of Owen's death. It made me sick to my stomach.

I have never seen the infamous Over the Edge PPV, nor do I want to out of respect for Owen Hart's memory. If a video of the fall did indeed exist, I don't think I could watch it.

Yeah, thats exactly what I got. I saw a site awhile which had photo's of Owen lying in the ring after the fall, but I just cant look at them now.

My question is why would Owen do a stunt such as the one he did while everyone was distracted and while the cameras weren't on him??

What was the point of doing it?

Why did sting used to come from the ceiling.

He wasn't supposed to plummet like that. As you probably know, he was in a gimmick where he was the "Blue Blazer" and the idea wasn't for him to just drop. As you can see, it's been done with other people, safely. However, you fall a lot faster without a properly working setup.

While everyone was looking at the screen Owen Hart (R.I.P) was being strapped into the harness. After the video would of shown his entrance music would of hit and he would of then been lowered down where he would of taken on the Godfather.

He wasnt gonna lower while everyone was lookin away. He simply was getting into his harness when everything went wrong.

I don't think it has, but I do remember reading somewhere that shortly after Owen's death, possibly on the memorial show where Bret Hart fought Chris Benoit, Sting said that he wouldn't do his rafters entrance if Bret thought it inappropriate. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Never saw it and never want to. The night he died was seriously one of the saddest times of my life.

I think Sting did do the entrance thing again at least once.

nah, i think at that point, anyone and everyone stopped doing that, including Sting. Even now im sure its unsettling to even consider such a stunt

on a side note, and i dont mean to fuel this threat at all, but Pro Wrestling Torrents has a torrent vid of the footage AFTER the fall, nothing graphic or special, just very very depressing. I didnt download it, cuz i was watching that PPV with a bunch of friends the day it happened, that was nuts. RIP Owen

Let's not forget almost a year to the day later in the same arena, some WCW wrestler was thrown off the Triple Cage and crashed through the ramp. The PPV went off without the guy getting up.

And the guy who got thrown wasn't part of the match, neither was the guy who through him. Seems like they did it for the sake of it.

That's the footage I'm talking about. It's about 9 minutes in lenght, and is taken directly from the ppv, some dude obviously had taped the ppv and uploaded it.
Still, all you see are vignettes, and JR talking about what just happened. "This is not a stunt, nor an angle..this is as real as real can get"..etc..The ending of the video shows King come back to the booth and says it doesnt look good. Then you hear the crowd applauding as they take Owen away..and they scoot over to a backstage interview with Kelly, Jarett and Debra. The end of the clip. I saw it, as it was posted somewhere else.
Not once are the cameras ever on the ring. JR said they would not use this, or like take advantage of it..it's not good to see.

I agree.

Oh yeah, also in an interview, Bret once said HBK had told him he was scared himself to do his WM 12 stunt from the roof. Wrestlers are not particularly fond of being propelled from super high places.

Yeah, Thats the second to last PPV I saw at my brothers friends house. I think they show him starting to come down in it but then cut away quickly. Then they show another promo and JR said before it "...ummm uh Right now we'll show you a promo The blue blazer said earlier in the night and we got a situtation out here folks."

I'll never forget that night. I was at my brother's house, ready to see the PPV. As soon as I come back to watch it after dinner, the show was delayed but comes back to a Road Dogg match I believe, or D'lo, not too sure. I had no idea what happened until they showed no replay or never a mention of Owen.

I don't ever want to see that footage (whether there is or isn't) as much as there is some curiousity in me. He was my favorite wrestler and what got me into wrestling, it hurt me so much and still does.

When they announced he fell I was holding his action figure in my hand....pretty creepy.

Like others here, I don't want to ever see that video.

King had run down to the ring to render aid. If I recall correctly, they opened up Owens chest right there in the ring and massaged his heart. (that isn't videotaped)

I'm pretty sure it was more than once more, too.

I'm less bothered by Sting doing it (in a different company) than the lack of safety within the WWE. People have made it clear that the WWE/F is a dog eat dog business, and even if Owen had turned down the push, someone else would have been up there and almost certainly died.

Why would anyone want to watch footage of someone plummeting to their death? Call it "curiousity" or anything you want, but, I call it sick. I understand, people want answers for what happened. But, how would watching the video help?

I remember the night after Owen died[and the whole day before] all anyone talked about was Owen dying at the PPV[Over The Edge]. Even non-wrestling fans were interesting in talking about it[which I found to be odd, but, a nice compliment to Owen's memory]. RIP Owen.... .

And as for the Sting thing, I'm not sure if he actually did the rafters entrance after or not. I know shortly after the Owen ordeal, Sting quit doing that entrance altogether[as any sane person would]. I never knew that Owen fell while being strapped in though. I always thought it was during his decent down after being strapped in that he actually fell, guess you learn something new everyday.

I think a tape is somewhere, or was destroyed by the WWE before it got out. I mean, don't they always have one camera high up facing the ring for every show and it's on at all times?

I said he did. I know he did. How many times is really the only questionable thing.


Kane Because Sting's gimmick was all about that at the time, I can somewhat understand it, but it still made me upset.

I gotta admit, this is true. However, I don't know why, but i don't mind watching that vid.

Not that I'm glad that Owen died or anything. Absolutely not. But I guess curiousity has got me.
