Craig said he would talk to Dana and get back to us. After that I cancel a few appearance's that I had to do. Alot of money that was givin up. So I could train for the fight. I had to get all of my medicals done as a normal fight. I got my eye done then we got a call from Craig. He said that Dana say that they are not going to shoot the fight or cover it in anyway. So this was a real lose,lose situation for me. I lost out on money for appearances. Now I was losing out on promotion and big dollars for the PPV. He didn't want to cut me in on the deal. So as a business man I couldn't do the fight. I have a very big fight with Evans. Why would I risk my health and that fight for free? I wasn't going to make anything for it? I was not going to get taken advantage of as a fighter or a business man. You tell me if I made the right decision? Hopefully this will get ironed out and will be done right the next time. Just trying to do business.....

If Dana wasn't going to give Tito a dime, and fuck that. Tito had every right and certainly should have dropped. I do find it weird that originally the fight was just going to be private before Tito had the idea of air it, so he was originally going to do it for fun, but I guess once money is start being made off a fight, the star fighter should certainly get a cut.

Tito should get someone to proof read his stuff. Also, Tito shouldn't have been so stupid to have dropped appearances before he had an agreement with Dana. It's not Dana's fault that Tito went ahead and dropped appearances before their was an agreement. That was a poor business decision on Tito's part.

Of course he should have been, I don't know what Dana is thinking on that one.
I just don't understand why Tito needed to add the appearances that he dropped in his blog. None of that is Dana's fault and really is just poor decisions on Tito's end.

Apparently Dana is now claiming that the plan was to have the profits rom the fight go to charity. Tito is claiming he never heard a thing about it being for charity and it's all Dana trying to save face. Take that for what it's worth.

When it comes to contract negotiation, it's good to get someone with experience (she owns her own very successful company) and who's in it to get you the best deal.

But owning a company and negotiating a contract are two different things. Especially since she doesnt know much about the specific business of mixed martial arts. I'm not saying she's a dumb ass. I'm sure she had his best intrests. I'm just shocked he didnt go with someone more educated to that process, or even with himself.

Dana has a boxing backround. It doesnt really matter how big Tito is. He has to box Dana. Dana definetly stood a chance because of that. So Tito should have been getting paid.

I could be wrong, but I don't think white has boxed (never pro, was amatuer) in 15yrs, so let's not assume he had a good chance against a much better athlete who has boxing as part of his MMA aresonal.

Heck, anyone has a chance, but White would have been on the run the whole time, cause if Ortiz got a clean shot he'd destroy him.

yea but dana used to train tito... thats why theres animosity. Plus who knows how much Dana white works out and actually how well of a boxer he actually is. I know when he trained tito he beat the shit out of him but that was a long time ago.

Fair play i say. Tito did the right thing, fuck fighting without getting paid. He could have got injured and then been fucked for the UFC fight with Evans (which i am looking forward to).

Oh and with regards to his lady doing the business, i say good move. The lady knows what she's doing. Don't worry about her not knowing the fight game inside out....that doesn't matter one bit. If you know how to negotiate business deals it doesn't really matter what area it's in, just a case of the details changing slightly.

Yeah apparently he was. Meltzer was saying everyone knew this was a charity thing. I follow the MMA thing close and I can say I never knew this. I'd imagine Tito must have heard the rumour at least though.

I should point out, I still like Ortiz well enough. I just think he handled this poorly. Or maybe it was her fault for not doing enough due diligence on the matter early on. Perhaps her business skills failed in this instance.

Doesn't sound like it to me. Sounds like he did a lot of assuming, which if he had a real business manager, wouldn't let that happen. Hey, all the props in the world for letting his girlfriend that has some experience negotiating contracts give it a try, but I don't think she should have been handling it alone at least this first time out (I'm assuming this was her first time trying to negotiate for him)

If I am correct jenna has some degrees in busines and has negotiated alot of contracts. Maybe she shouldnt have worked thedeal but he would prolly do alot worse. As for dana not having a chance, tito is horrible sanding up which is why chuck liddel crushed him in their first fight.
