Although not confirmed by WWE on WWE.com, Darren "Droz" Drozdov has been released.

Drozdov competed for WWE from 1998 - 1999 teaming with The Road Warriors and Prince Albert aka A-Train over the course of his career, when an injury during a match with D'lo Brown ended his career and he became a quadriplegic. Drozdov remained a WWE ever since, appearing and the now-defunct "Byte This" program, giving PPV predictions, and appearing on a few WWE DVD productions.

Drozdov's release comes as a big shock to many, as he was guaranteed a "job for life" by Vince McMahon after his accident. Like with all of the other releases lately, Stephanie McMahon is the mastermind behind this one, as she felt that without "Byte This", WWE has little to no use for Drozdov and she feels like Droz has been given more than enough money over the course of 8 years that he should be set for life.

From 1999 - 2005, Drozdov was married to Melanie Vega, a seamstress for WWE. The couple divorced in 2005 and Droz currently has another girlfriend and Vega is in a relationship with WWE superstar Shannon Moore.

Vince has final say, and could have done what he wanted, truth is he was probably happy when it happened knowing that he didnt have to do it, and even if he didnt, he's the one who let Stephanie do as she likes.

I might get flamed for this, but Stephanie kinda brings up a point. Drozdoz was dead weight. I'm sure he's a fantastic guy and whatnot, and it's really terrible what happened to him in the ring, but every single performer to ever lace up a pair of boots knows the danger of what they're doing. They know that there's a chance of being seriously injured. Apparently, that was a chance he was willing to take, and sadly, he lost the gamble. They gave him a job for a very long time after the injury (what's it been, like 8 years?), and Steph's right, if he invested wisely, he should be set for life. What's the point of paying somebody when you have no use for him? It's just bad business to keep him on board.

I do wish Darren Drozdov the best of luck in his future endeavors, though.

Wow, part of me feels bad for Droz, even though I never liked him. And part of me feels like whatever. It is kinda cold hearted, but at the same time, how long do they really need to take care of D'Lo Brown's mistakes?

He can do that on his own spare time, not company time. The WWE already has that covered with those little "No matter who you are, no matter what you do, please, don't try this at homoe" videos that they run before all of their DVDs. It'd be a waste of time from a business standpoint. That's what people have to realize. Beneath it all, the WWE is a business.
