Who would get a tribute?

Bit morbid, but under the current circumstance what isn't?

I just got thinking, what’s the cut off point for guys getting an entire raw dedicated to them?

Guys like Eddie and Benoit I expected.

Owen deserved one for the amount of time he’d been with the company.

But Pillman just gets the 10 bell salute

Anyone that’s not an employee of the company tends to just get a vid at the start, which is fine.

My main question here is, say someone like Nunzio or Super Crazy died, what do you think they would get? I doubt an entire show, but more than a Video (I would hope) so what would you expect?

Where is the cut off between having a whole show and a few segments?

I guess you need to be there for a while and need a few pushed and major angles.

So guys like Matt Hardy I think would get a whole show, but someone like Kenny Dystra wouldn’t, even though they are on the same level on the card.

What about guys like Johnny Nitro? Current champ, but hasn’t really been given the ball so to speak.

Bobby Lashely? Too new for my liking, but would probably get a whole show because of the stature they gave him.

Do you think there’s anyone that isn’t an employee that would get a whole show? Hogan/Rock are the only one’s that would come to mind.

I think they have to be at least mid card, in the business a significant amount of time, and still actice in the company.

Thats what it seems thus far anyway.

If Matt Hardy got a full show, I'd watch the 10 bell out of respect, then change the channel.

I disagree that Owen deserved an entire RAW under other circumstances. Since he died in the ring it was the ONLY thing they could have done. Had he been sick for a while or died of natural causes under contract, for example, I don't think he would have gotten more than a ten bell salute and maybe a segment. That's all he should have gotten from my fan perspective, anyway.

I think regardless of what level they're at, they're all wrestlers at teh end of the day, all or most are friends backstage. I think respect level decides who gets what. If a wrestler died at an event, it would effect a lot of people who it may not if he died at home, or as years went on into his retirement.

If I were a wrestler who passed away like Owen or Eddie, I'd just want a 10 bell salute, and then let it be known that I'd want to show to go on.

I think they may have done one or two Heats dedicated to someone, but I'm pretty sure those three (four shows all together since Eddie's lasted for both RAW and SmackDown!) are it.

Its honestly hard to say. To have a whole show, they'd probably have to have either been around for a really long time, consistently near the top of the card like Ric Flair...or have to have been a main eventer at time of death like Cena.

Some guys I bet would just get a "In Memory of:" picture at the beginning, and nothing else, not even a 10-bell. Not trying to be morbid, but they would probably do this because its highly unlikely that the crowd would care enough to be silent for 10 tolls if someone like one of the Major Brothers died. Ditto for someone like Kenny Dykstra, I would say. And there's probably not enough video footage to even make a montage there. In these cases, they might allow wrestlers to wear armbands or something if they wish, but the show would still go on as normal.

They also got his wife on air to discuss his death and the curcumstances surrounding it. Which Bret got pissed at.

Pillman wasnt around the wwe for that long, however.

Owen fully deserved a big tribute, not just for his longevity and accomplishments, along with his undeniable talent, but also for the fact he died in a stunt that never should have taken place, and he was probably the guy most anyone would have respected more then any other. A true man's man.

I feel there would be some mention and 10 bell salute to a lower card guy.

I feel if a legend passes away thats not with WWE that they would get a tribute show with clips and comments like Benoit had.

As far as I'm concerned:

If they're on the current roster and it's a sudden death they should get a tribute show.

If they're a legend (Flair, Hogan, Austin etc status) and even if they're not on the current roster (but obviously were before), they should get a tribute show.

Otherwise, just a mention, a ten bell salute and maybe a video package/segment devoted to them.
