Worst run of Gimmicks: Nic Nemeth or Paul Burchill

Christ, I've never seen two wrestler get so many bad gimmicks in such a short time

Nemeth: Kerwin White' Caddy(although Kerwin was FUCKING GOLD), a cheerleader, and apparently a take off on Dirk Diggler

Burchilll: Regal's lackey, a pirate, a sister fucker.

I feel bad for them because they are both very talented.

Nic's have been worse. Kerwin wasn't even around that long, as a cheerleader he was 1 out of 5 guys that jobbed to DX every week, and whatever this thing they're doing now, well it looks terrible. Burchill was just a lackey and he was never actually a pirate, he was "honoring his family." Whatever. They did well by not making him a sister-fucker.

when Burch was with Regal at least it was not embarassing. It was a decent way to bring him in, and he looked pretty decent.

It's too early to judge Nemeth's new character...but he's still had it worse. Bringing Burchill in with Regal was a good move, and Pirate Paul was entertaining. Also, he just happens to have a hot sister...it was never actually said that they fucked.

Nick.

The pirate ruled, anything involving Regal in the past year or so is good, and the sister fucking was never established.

I don't think either of them has had it too horrible. Burchill looked good for a while with Regal, but then they jobbed out to Bobby Lashley, so meh. Momentum halted, but not destroyed. The pirate gimmick stuff was actually pretty good. It got Paul over, and it really expanded on his ability to play a good character.

His early stuff with Katie Lea has been great, and they've gotten some really good heat. The sister fucking hasn't been established, which is just the way it should be. He's getting some promo time, but it seems the WWE have lost interest in him. Just put The Burchills with Regal and Layla already and make them a British stable without the elements of class and tea-sipping that a usual English faction in the WWE would be treated with.

As for Nick Nemeth, well, the caddy stuff was just a way to bring him in. The Spirit Squad stuff was good, in theory, but the WWE jobbed them out and shipped them off way too fast. His stuff as "The Natural" was apparently good, but never seen on WWE TV. Truth be told, we don't know what this Dolph Ziggler stuff will be. I'm hoping for a guy who had such a bad name he learned how to fight and fight well, or a guy that is so nice he shakes the referee's hand when he enters the ring, and when he gets put in a wristlock effectively in the ring, he gives his opponent a thumbs up before countering out of it and giving them words of encouragement.

With Hardcore Holly, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Val Venis, Paul London and D'Lo Brown on the RAW roster as lower-tier babyfaces, there is no excuse for guys like Dolph Ziggler and Paul Burchill to not be put over, really.

I'm going to be honest, Burchill doesn't have it. He is talented, can work a decent match, has a decent look. But he doesn't have that little something that will make him. And it isn't because of lack of a push. He was pretty much a Hunter Herst Helmsey type heel in his recent push, a young, rich, brutal heel. But he didn't make it happen, plus he had Katie Lee on his side.

I have to question your conclusion here. I think it's just a lack of push. What has he had with this new character? Has to be under a dozen matches. A few against jobbers, a couple in a feud with Kofi that went nowhere and was quickly forgotten, and a few in a feud with Kennedy that went nowhere and was quickly forgotten. Writing like this is not conducive to a memorable character.

Writing doesn't give a person charisma. He didn't have a character like say, "The Ringmaster" that was stifiling his charisma. He had the opportunity to play a really pyscho vicious heel and he didn't go all the way with it. It's the difference between playing a character and being a character. (which not so coincidentally is the difference between main eventers and mid carders)

I agree with what's being said here. Burchill is a steady hand in the ring and he was elevated to about where he belongs on the card. He can make people look good in the ring and he has a decent look to him. At some point, if he finds that missing piece, he'll connect with the crowd and they'll elevate him (provided he doesn't have any political enemies)

I don't know if we can really judge the Kerwin's caddy gimmick, since it got cut short because of Eddie's death.

And does anyone think they might be adjusting Paul's gimmick again? On RAW this week, he had quite a bit of 5 o'clock shadow going on.

I disagree. In fact, I think that Paul Burchill is one of the very few wrestlers left in the WWE who actually has a unique aspect to him.

You want a bad run of gimmicks?

How about the guy who was Bastion Booger.

Before that, he was Friar Fergusson
Before that, he was Trucker Norm
Before that, he was Norman the Lunatic...

Hell, one of the Guerreros was both Lasertron AND the Gobbledy Gooker.
