What should be THE feud in TNA?

Everyone talks about how TNA gets it wrong, etc. One thing I'd like to know is just what should TNA be putting forward as their top program? Which guys should be fighting over the TNA World Heavyweight Title in the very near future? How would you build to it, and why?

Pfft

Personally, I'd go with a main event version of the Three-Way Match between Samoa Joe, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels. Those three men really lit up the place over the X-Division Title, and right now, two of those men are pretty much in the main event scene. It's also a program consisting of guys that didn't get most of their fame in one of the other big promotions.

Have Samoa Joe dominate against Sting in a way that makes it look like he's a new breed of wrestler that has watched all the matches, studied all the moves, etc. AJ Styles defeated Christian Cage, and gets Cage's respect for doing so. Christopher Daniels can return as himself (I know he was "fired," but come on, so was Chris Jericho), and he wins the Steel Asylum Match. Right now, that contest is based around the X-Division, I think, but that can easily be updated.

From there, you basically have AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels both make a run at Joe.

The top 5 guys in TNA right now (imo) should be:

AJ Styles
Kurt Angle
Samoe Joe
Christian Cage
Sting

An inter-weaving fued between Angle, Styles, Joe, and Christian should be the centre point imo. Guys like Sting and Foley should be used to fued with the up and coming guys in TNA like James Storm, Robert Roode, Jay Lethal, and (a possibly returning) Christopher Daniels.

That's about as in depth as I'll go right now, but I shall return later to explain it in more detail.

I'm not sure. Guys like Booker T and Angle holding the TNA title makes the title look good. Since they have these guys, they should be using them. But the should be having them make guys like AJ, Daniels, and Roode look good. I didn't say Joe because Joe is already at the top. They need to keep Joe's momentum up.

I think it is more important for TNA to be scouting the indies and possibly building a feeder fed so they can have more home grown talent. There mainevent scene is decent with talent, as long as they keep it fluid and dynamic, it should be fine.

I'm going to lay it on the line Noid. The main reason I don't like you or your ideas is that you seem to always be focused in the here and now. You don't really see the long term.

TNA gets it wrong in their mainevents because they aren't building up new guys, they are bring in old WWE guys. If they finally start pushing AJ, Roode, Storm, and Daniels up the card, that would be great. Maybe even Jay Lethal. He is now getting out of the Macho Man gimmick which is good because now people know who he is and he has shown personality.

Personally, I think if Lethal is ever mainevent, he will be TNA's greatest triumph to date. He will be a true home grown talent.

Christopher Daniels should be in the main event, first of all, instead of being wasted as the Curry Man. There was a time for Curry Man, but not right now, when TNA needs new stars and guys who can work and talk. Daniels should be a top of the card heel working against Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe.

AJ Styles should be the star of the X-Division and he should be a cocky face. The X Division should be about competition. That's why Styles/Daniels/Joe worked so well - it was about the spirit of competition, and it was about violence and action in the ring. It shouldn't be about comedy characters and WWF rip offs. That shit has no place on the card. The X Title needs to be brought back to its previous place of prominence within the company and not be treated like an after thought.

I do think long-term. Maybe I don't express it enough in my posts. If I did go ahead with the Samoa Joe/AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels thing, I'd be having someone like Christian Cage work with Robert Roode, for example. Meanwhile, I like the idea of Kurt Angle working in the X-Division. It's something he's expressed interest in doing, and it's something that could really build those guys up.

Consequences Creed is someone that TNA seems to be really getting behind. Let's say Angle loses to Jarrett at Bound For Glory: He can show up on iMPACT!, seem really pissed, and basically say he is taking the X-Division Title to prove he can, and to fuck over the smaller indie guys (without using those words, of course). Consequences Creed, who I believe has an amateur background, can then work with Angle, and really get the hang of using more of a ground-based style in with his high-flying shit, and grow as a performer. Angle and Creed can trade the title a few times, with Angle really putting Creed over as someone that "has it," and boom. You've got a credible X-Division Champion and someone that could easily be shifted into the TNA World Heavyweight Title scene if need be. Plus, he's a TNA guy.

If I were trying to get Jay Lethal there, I'd definitely have him edge out of the Black Machismo gimmick, now that it's more than served its purpose of getting Lethal noticed and over. I'd then probably stick him as sort of a buddy of Samoa Joe's on-screen (seeing as Joe trained Lethal, I believe) and having him work with a top heel that Joe isn't busy with at the time.

I agee with you pretty much entirely on that. Except for maybe your point on Styles. I think he's done so much for the division already, and that he is fine where he is, for the moment. Sure, in a few years the X-Division may call his name again, but right now, I feel that Styles is the sort of "franchise player" TNA needs to create for itself in its World Title scene.

Styles returning to the division later down the line as a heel trying to prove he is still the best at that style could be really cool.

As for Christopher Daniels: I would not mind it if Curry Man were around, but I just don't like the joke he's become. Daniels was so much more credible as himself (and without the ridiculous face tattoo). Daniels should be in the main event, because he really has all the tools they need in a top tier star. If they had Daniels do double-duty lower on the card as Curry Man (most likely in the X-Division), I think the character still has room to exist.

As much as I like AJ Styles and as many great matches as he has given me, I don't know if he belongs in the World Title scene yet.

The reason I say that is because TNA is still "new" to the casual wrestling fan. AJ Styles should be the star of the X-Division because that style of wrestling suits him the best. And I wouldn't just want for him to be a part of it, I would make him the focal point of it. He can have fantastic matches with a lot of different people, and if the feuds were built right and spanned a few months, he could carry the division for years. And TNA needs that right now. They've been around for awhile but right now is the time for them to really push themselves and pick up that extra audience, and AJ Styles in the X-Division can help them do that. Once they sustain an audience, then they can try and push him.

But it's gonna be like a Chris Benoit World title push, or a Mankind World Title push. AJ doesn't have the mic skills to be in the main event permanently. Daniels does. Angle does. Booker T does. Christian definitely does. Tomko does. But I don't think AJ has the personality yet.

I would also like to add that Samoa Joe should still be an ass-kicking monster and not a whiny bitch who complains about Nash making more money than him... but that's obvious.

For real, they shoulda stuck with the Angle and AJ as a team (Alliance w/e). Have Angle and Joe go at it 2 main events in a row with Joe winning, then build up a program Joe vs AJ. Have Aj go over 2 or 3 months after Angles last match, hence AJ suprasses Angle.

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle is an obvious, but very good answer. Many feel that TNA dropped the ball with that, but do you think it's possible to somehow salvage it for another series?

Ok, here is how I would go about it

Main Event Faces - Daniels (ill elaborate in a second), Angle, Cage
Main Event Heels - Styles, Joe, and Sting

Ok, here is what happens, Angle and Cage team up to take on the team of Sting and Styles, their feud goes well for a few weeks, until Joe decides to show his face, and preceed into a 3 on 2 feud.

Angle and Cage are in the ring, promoing, and saying how no one will help them, how he has talked to Jarrett, how he has talked to everyone, and no one is willing to help them out, and last night as a last resort, Angle looked towards the heavens, and asked for help, and even that went unanswered.

Cue Joe, Sting, and Styles entering the Impact Zone, as they walk toward the win, Angle and Cage look for away out.

Then all of a sudden the arena goes black. Out of the tunnel comes an immense white light, and blaring over the sound system is this song.

Listen please so you can help create the feel I am trying to set

and at the 0:57 mark, Daniels enters the arena dressed in white and silver robes, and comes running in.

Mad mark out return, and it would work so well.

So what do you all think?

it doesn't matter which guys they use as the main feud. TNA has done Cage/Angle, Angle/Joe, Booker/Cage. These are great feuds. The problem is the story around the feud. They don't seem to know how to keep something going long term. I am enjoying the current angle with Jarrett, Joe, Sting, Angle, Booker and Christian because they have multiple guys involved and they are doing a pretty good job progressing the storyline.

Although I missed Impact this week
