Gotta say it, big "25th" Anniversary or otherwise, I'm not really feeling WrestleMania so far this year. I'm nowhere near as excited as I usually am, and quite frankly have been more interested of late in EastEnders(!) and Red Dwarf (next Friday on Dave!) than "the Grandaddy of them All!".

So just to try and get myself more in the mood, and spark some debate, let us rank our WrestleManias in order from 1-24. It's always interesting because its so subjective and what most people frown upon as "bad" WrestleManias may figure highly on some peoples lists. For example, my guilty pleasures are IV and IX, which everyone seems to hate. I think everyone seems to have a particular fondness for their very first WrestleMania, no matter how bad.

So fuck what everyone else thinks, fuck the general consensus, fuck the accepted "match quality" standards that others put in place... list YOUR WrestleManias in YOUR order. You don't have to explain why, this doesn't have to be a big review, just a list in order of preference.

And even if this has been done a thousand times before, so what? This weekend should be a celebration of this mega-event, and nothing is getting me buzzing so far.

I can't do this. I suck at lists because I second guess the shit out of myself.

I just know that I think 17 is the best, with 19 right behind it.

Conversely, I think 11 and 9 are awful. And I really dislike WM2000 too.

Doesn't have to be the DEFINITIVE list. I mean, some of those Manias I've only seen once or twice, some of them I haven't seen for years, and if I listed them again tomorrow without seeing this one, I bet there would be some differences. But the main ones would stay the same at the top and bottom.

Main event was good. Shane vs X-Pac was good. Chyna/HHH double turn was well executed. The rest was rushed and meaningless.

To be honest I only really started watching in late 1998...and while I've seen the older WrestleManias from before that, a lot of them were just tape rentals so I'd need to try watching them all again to make a fair list.

However, out of the recent ones I do remember...it's hard as balls for me to choose between WM17 and WM20. I think I might be leaning more towards WM20 for the nostalgia of it and the ending...if they had done the Cruiserweight Open properly rather than rush a good deal of it, my vote would definitely be with 20.

And out of that stretch, I'd say WM16 was the worst. The Angle/Jericho/Canadian triple threat was good and the unofficial first ever TLC was fun...but there were a load of lousy, non-WM quality matches. It really did seem like they were just trying to get everybody on the roster a match on the card (which actually, I think they did).
