Who wins the WWE Unified Tag Titles?
Okay so does anyone else join me in feeling that since Jericho and Big Show are now engulfed in being featured on both Smackdown and Raw each week that the WWE Unified Tag Team Title picture is getting stale and that I can't remember the last time that they defended the titles was. I'm sure it hasn't been that long but I really am getting tired of teams getting the titles and then not defending them for 5 months before we finally see a tag title match.
So let's discuss who we think beats Jerishow for the Tag Team Titles and why? And also does anyone think the titles should stay unified or should WWE go back to Brand Respective Tag Titles and why? ![]() |

I really hope DX don't win them. I am cool with them titles being Unified.

I think that there'll be a Jerishow break-up and both Jericho and Show'll choose their partners and battle eachother for the belts.
But what I'd like more is to make them lose the titles and get both of them back in the singles scene. |

I would really love to see the Hart Dynasty with the titles perhaps with the teased break up of Jerishow....have them win it on SD as a wildcard match capitalizing on a distraction between the team members. I really think this would be a good opportunity to test the longevity and heel potential of this stable.
I would personally like to see the titles stay unified....Tag Team Titles seem to garner less respect and tend to get lost in the midst of the brand when they are exlcusive to only one show |

Hart Dynasty have a long way to go. It should be
#1. Simply Priceless. (They need it) #2. Hurricane Helms & Kane. (Kane needs to turn face) #3. The Brothers of Destruction. (But then Taker is working only one show a week) #4. The E&C Connection. (I would cum in my pants) #5. Cryme Tyme. Last edited by GD; 11-04-2009 at 10:55 PM. |

I used to think that DX were set to take the titles, but now I'm not so sure. The idea of Triple H and Shawn Michaels working on both RAW and SmackDown! intrigues me, though. And I'm not exactly the biggest DX fan out there...
Edge & Christian would be another pick, when Edge is ready to return. Eventually, I would not mind seeing the Tag Titles go back to being two separate championships. They just need to actually stick with tag teams. Call up Caylen Croft & Trent Berreta from FCW, and put The Colons back together. Call up Alberto Banderas as Chavo Guerrero's new partner. Have The Great Khali start hanging out with Funaki. There are four teams there. |

Big Show's held it for 101+ days, whereas Jericho has held his for 129+ so far, and I'm not sure when the last time the belts were defended, although the thought occurs to me that it may have been vs. Legacy on RAW during the build to Bragging Rights, not 100% on that though.
And, G.D. don't take this as a knock on you personally, but wouldn't you agree that Cryme Tyme should be next in line to hold the gold? I mean, you've got a tag team that was shafted for forever in supposedly winning a match at a 2007 or 2008 pay-per-view that was supposed to grant them the next World Tag Team title shot. Then when they finally get their shot, it's at the Unified titles, and Cryme Tyme gets their shot but is shafted out of the gold. Once Cryme Tyme has just 1 good lengthy run with the belts, then I would go along with the rest of your list. |

Agreed with DAMN iNATOR.....Cryme Tyme is most definately overdue to take a crack at running with the gold.....and would be a great chance to build Shad Gaspard as a viable big man persona for a potential heel turn and singles run down the road....what you think on that one DAMN?

I actually agree with DAMN iNATOR on this one. I think Cryme Tyme deserves a run with tag titles b/c every shot they get they are screwed out of it.

I'm far more interested in what Cryme Tyme can do away from each than what they can do together, to be honest. If Cryme Tyme won the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, I would probably be more interested if Shad cut a promo with JTG, where he says that he came to the WWE to prove that he alone was the baddest of the bad, and now that he has won the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, he realises that it isn't enough. He then cracks JTG with a massive shot, and walks out with all four belts.

It'd be nice to see Legacy with them again but there bound to split up later this month. There is such a lack of legit tag teams that they should and unify them and make it one pair for both shows. I'd like to see DX get a short run with them and then eventually drop them to the Hart Dynasty.

If Jerishow holds onto them until Edge comes back, then I could see Edge and Christian reuniting and taking them.

Another case of the IWC never being satisfied. First people bitch that the tag titles aren't used properly, and now that they're featured prominently on both shows, it's getting stale.I hate all of you.

I love Jerishow as champion and I would hope they stay that way for a long time. Nobody should beat them except DX or Edge and Christian, and I really hope its not DX.

Edge returns, distracts JeriShow in their match vs. Hart Dynasty, JeriShow lose the Titles, regain them in a mandatory rematch a few weeks later which sets up a JeriShow vs. Edge & Mystery Partner (Christian) at WM

The correct answer is JeriShow drop the titles to Cryme Tyme at the Royal Rumble in a street fight, and then we have a feud between Cryme Tyme and the Hart Dynasty.

I say Christian gets off ECW either by being the underdog winner of the RR or Winning Money in the Bank at Mania...

I was pretty confused when they dropped the DX build which was pretty obviously set for Survivor Series.

Another comibination that could be put together to win the tag team titles that I would love seeing would be John Morrison and Matt Hardy, I think their styles could mesh well enough to be consistent top contenders to the titles and make the tag team division interesting. Another one would be CM Punk and Bryan Danielson if they don't send him to ECW which is more than likely once he gets established and debuts with WWE.

Also like its not obvious that neither Shawn or Trips is going to go over on Cena as Survivor Series so where does that leave them between now and the Royal Rumble.....kinda out in limbo or in some quickly and poorly thrown together fued that equals sucktastic rating if you ask me. ![]() |

Though thinking about it, it does keep them on a level playingfield with one another, both being in the top title matches for both brands.
But the rumor was that Shawn is winning the title at TLC (because it's in San Antonio), and unless that's changed (which, with the SSeries match, seems unlikely) I don't see it continuing. I think it's going to branch off to the DX breakup. |

Jericho and Show split up, and each takes a set of tag titles back to their respective show and are allowed to get a new partner. Cryme Tyme wins the belts off Jericho and a returning Lance Cade. Sexual Playas (MVP & Mark Henry) win the belts off Show and Random Stupid Choice #836.

They should reunite The Worlds Greatest Tag Team, since Jericho is constantly saying he and show are the greatest of all time.

Ya know what, I wouldn't have had to bitch about anything had WWE not made an empty promise in a tag team turmoil match at New Year's Revolution '07, on January 7th, 2007, where Lilian Garcia clearly stipulated that the match was being contested for "a future World Tag Team Championship match", which never came to fruition, despite Cryme Tyme defeating The Highlanders, Benjaimin & Hass (The Self-Proclaimed World's Greatest Tag Team) and Duggan and Super Crazy, until 2 years, 8.5 months later, and even when they finally got their long-awaited title shot, they didn't win the titles. And I think that's one important stepping stone before any kind of talk of a CT breakup should even begin.

Plus, why do you always feel the need to show off your wrestling "knowledge". I fucking know that Benjamin and Haas were the World's Greatest Tag Team and I know that the fucking Undertaker is 17-0 at WrestleMania. Fuck you are such a tool.

But did you know that New Year's Revolution took place on January 7, 2007? Or that it was approximately 2 years, 8.5 months before Cryme Tyme got their title shot? What is a horse shoe? What does a horse shoe do? Are there horse socks? Is anyone listening to me?

Well they got the Summer Slam title shot because they defeated the reigning Champions Jericho and Show on an edition of Raw which was hosted by Shaquille.

I think that's because no one wants Jackson and Kozlov as champs.
I liked Jackson when he was paired with TBK and even a little intrigued by him when he was moved to ECW, but ever since he started teaming with Kozlov I've found him incredibly boring. |

CM Punk could have very easily cut a promo about how he wasn't pinned, and while Rey and Batista are doing their thing, Punk can face The Undertaker one last time in a Buried Alive Match. John Cena defeated Orton "once and for all" at Bragging Rights, but they still have issues. Cena and Kofi Kingston could have led a team also consisting of MVP, Mark Henry & Evan Bourne against Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase, The Miz & Jack Swagger. There's a RAW main event for ya. Throw in Batista vs. Rey Mysterio and John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler, and you've got yourself a good card shaping up. What I find bizarre about the Triple Threats, though, is the symmetry between the challengers. You've essentially got two super teams challenging for the respective World Titles. I wonder if the WWE are just holding off on JeriShow vs. DX for TLC, and putting the Tag Titles on DX then, instead of giving Shawn Michaels the WWE Title. |

I'm also for putting The World's Greatest Tag Team back together. Shelton Benjamin could be a singles star, and he really should be by now. Haas should have done more, too. But the fact is, they haven't achieved those goals. As a tag team, they actually have something of a legacy. Give them a few more years together, a few more title runs, and even a go as a face team (which they have never actually had), and I think they could be considered a "legendary tag team."
But then again, there is also the idea that the WWE hinted about at house shows of teaming up Mike Knox & Charlie Haas. Given how Haas is more of a focused, ruthless character right now, this team actually makes a bit of sense. It's not like Knox's singles career is sky-rocketing to the point where it would be a waste of him, either. Last edited by Mr. Nerfect; 11-05-2009 at 08:45 AM. |
