Leafs vs. Sen against Canucks vs. Flames

I watched most of game 3 of the Flames vs. The Canucks and compared it to game 2 of the Leafs vs. Sens and I don't know why, but the physical intensity of Toronto vs. Ottawa was far more apparent than Vancouver vs. Calgary.

I'm not saying the 2 western teams didn't put together an entertaining hockey game, I'm just saying there wasn't as much of an "OUCH" factor as there was in the Eastern game.

You think it's because the Leafs have some of the most insane dirty bastards in the league? Or is it that Western Conference games are more based on open play and not as hard body checking.

Maybe it's just because Ottawa vs. Toronto holds much more hate. I don't know, but they were annihilating each other on Saturday, it was just nuts.

Thoughts?
