Well at the start of the season, everyone was saying how the Patriots have no chance of winning another one, and how much better the Colts are etc etc I think they can use that help them. Like Supreme said, I am sure they are already motivated, but something that isn't going to hurt is it?

We just need to sit back and watch Belicheck work his magic. He's going to win it all again, because he's not going to exactly go out and run the entire table just because he can. He gameplanned his dynasty, and we're witnessing another page. These players are professionals, and they know the playoffs like the Lions know top-10 picks. Manning won't get it done this year. |

I dunno, every time I've watched ESPN guys always say they are the team to beat.
![]() If it was somehow Colts - Seahawks, I would be torn. ![]() Peyton vs. Shaun. Tennessee vs. Alabama. Think I'd have to be a homer and pull for the Hawkssss. |

I'm pretty sure Carson Palmer going down overshadows any of the Patriot injuries.
Teddy "He does it all" Bruschi was pretty bad, but I still say Carson means more to his team. |

Kitna will start somewhere next season, and he will do well. He did well before Carson was handed the starting spot. And the commentators made a special point to point out how Kitna gets a large number of snaps each week in practice just in case.
Fact is, Carson went down, the entire team was running scared. They had the lead ffs, get some motivation to run out the clock or something. Come on. |

That being said, Kitna is not a good starter, he's servicable if that, with a good team around him he can put up some decent numbers, but he can't carry a team. |

Looking to the Pats next game. Last time they played Denver they really got smacked, the game wasn't as close as the score. Pats showed something though, to be able to make the score that close in the end. They were playing without Seymour, Bruschi, Dillion, Brown, Faulk and a few others. So this game should be a lot different then the first meeting between these 2 teams. Playing in Denver will be tough though, they are undefeated there this season (I believe?) but unless #7 is playing QB for the Broncos, I don't see them beating the Patriots. Especially if Beisel and Chad Brown play out of their minds like they did last week I really don't see the Pats losing, but hopefully Bruschi will be back anyways.

Oh that's right, the Pats won without Bruschi last week didn't they? That's a lot of "hits" they missed out on, lah.

Beisel played his best game of season though, and even Chad Brown played good. First time I've seen Brown play good in a Pats uniform.

Honestly. Call me a homer i dont care. I'll say it. I think the Colts are gunna crush Pittsburgh by two touchdowns. Then Crush whoever wins in the Broncos/ Patriots game. In the past i was overly confident because i hoped we were good enough to win. This year i can honestly say we are the best team. Everyone says Manning wont get it done and dawgs Manning out. This guy is in the " Prime " of his career gentleman. He's heard this shit for 3 years now and sat back pretty idley this whole time. Never once complaining about how horrid his defense has been. Never once questioning any part of the system . This guy kept his mouth shut and let the critics critize. Now the best QB has a Top Five ranked defense, two All-Pro defensive players, three probowlers and something to prove? Lights out thank you. Manning will get it done and the Colts are gunna spank that ass. Call me a homer, call me whatever. Just make sure you come correct when it happens. Manning will get it done.

![]() He's going to do a run-in 80s WWF style, wearing a Patriots Jersey, and completely obliterate Manning with a blindsided hit. There will be a 15 yard penalty, but it should be more, because Manning will be dead. And they would try to eject Merriman, but before they could... ninja smoke, and he disappears. It will happen. I've already emailed his agent. They both love the idea. |

I've seen guys come back from a torn ACL/MCL. MCL's aren't that bad. Texas Tech's QB had a torn MCL against us and played every series but two - the one where he hurt it and the next one. He came back and led a scoring drive. ACL's are a different story though. One of my HS teammates tore his ACL and MCL at the beginning of this year, and he is running on it now.

I'd be shocked if Palmer was 100% before say October. Having said that I only read early sketchy reports that it was the MCL and the ACL, only offical reports I've seen say ACL only.

So, the Jets are interviewing Eric Mangini. He's been the pats DC for 1year, his experience starts as possible the oldest "ball boy" in history, he was a college graduate and "ball boy" in cleveland, he's someone who has always been somehow labeled as "some day a head coach". There was talk the Pats want to keep him long term to someday take over for Belicheck.
I don't think going to the Jets would be good for a first time coach. Their last coach was a players coach, they need to rebuild, neither one will indear a new coach to the team. The jets front office/owner and the Pats front office/owner don't get along, haven't since the Parcells situation, so this could be the case of the Jets just trying to screw with the Pats before a big playoff game. Would he take the job? good question, will probably mean more money, my bet is, the Pats offer him 500-1mil range to stay as DC and that would keep him from taking a HC job just for the money, rather then the "right" situation. |

Did the new coach keep him? Remember when Detroit made it clear they wanted Marriuci, but had to interview a minority canidate, so they called Dennis Green but he refused to interview so they got fined. |

Former Vikings coach Mike Tice is among the contenders to replace Herman Edwards as coach of the New York Jets.

Who do you guys think Houston will take with the first pick in the draft (assuming Bush declares)? Supposedly, alot of fans want them to take Vince Young to 'groom' behind Carr. I think they are in a pretty shitty spot to say the least. I think Carr is a good qb who lacks an OL capable of blocking. He's very mobile, so i'm not sure Vince would do that much better. They have Dominick Davis, so they really don't need Reggie. So what do you do if your them? Trade down and pick up more picks? I would do that if i were them. They need an o-line more than anything. What do you think?

If you draft Reggie Bush you are going to need somebody like Davis. Reggie only carried it 10-15 times in college - so he's not going to carry it 25-30 times a game as a pro. I am pretty sure the Texans already announced they are drafting Bush - good luck to him running behind that offensive line.

ok, lets make it an Orgy! (plays Visera music). Gonzo - Philly will take any reasonable offer just to get rid of the salary left. What they want and what they know they'll get are completely different. EoE - Someone will trade for him, someone will pick up the money after a bunch of meetings with him and say something like "We talked and he's happy to be here and anything he can do to help us win". Bush>Davis, TO>______ and Cutlert>Carr. Maybe Carr will finally break out, he's had some flahses... I just don't see it. While I feel strongly you build a team with Defense and Special Teams, Houston also needs butts in the seats, and that type of team could put up some points, and be young enough to allow you to build the next few years. TO one one side, Andre Johnson on the other, Bush linening up in the backfield and the slot. Their OL has been together 3-4 years, and most are young, but they gave up over 60 sacks, I don't watch Houston games, but I wonder how many were there fault and how many were Carr not getting rid of the ball. That would be my plan, but the "core offense" in place this year and let the build together while you improve the defense, and maybe steal a few wins in some shoot outs. |

Well, I was unaware of the contract situation. So EoE's point makes a ton more sense. I can't imagine any team actually trading for him then unless the Eagles package something with Terrell to make the contract the other team would be picking up a non issue.
