I hate Duke, but Reddick can obviously make shots with people in his face. He drilled a 3 with somebody right in his face, so much so that he fell down after he shot it because of the contact. I'd be surprised to see Duke make the final four, but I was surprised to see them win today. Always pulling out the bullshit. Luckly I got to watch local coverage so I didn't have to listen to the Dickie V Duke D-ridin'

Boston College hoppefully will do some damage in the tourny though, their offense is pretty tough to stop. I've never seen a team pass so well in the paint, their guards set up the right on top of the 3 point line to run the offense. Pretty impressive.

I love Marchmadness, I love it. I think there will be a bunch of upsets this year, because there really isnt a clear cut favorite. Like Ohio State has a good chance i think of goin all the way , they will probably be a 2.

The thing is Williams should have had 10 fouls, that dude is the biggest hack ever. His few 2 years he was fouling out with the QUICKNESS and his style has no not changed at all. He just doesn't get whistled for them because hes "the landlord" now and is good at blocking shots so refs "let him play." lol I knew UNC was going to get a higher seed than BC in the tournament. BC only finished 1 game behind them during the regular season in the ACC. They also beat UNC the 2 times the played, once in Chapel Hill and once in the tournament, thus advancing further than UNC in the tourny. Only reason UNC is ranked higher is because UNC beat Duke, so fucking stupid.

Outlaw you are right about Greg Paulus, he is gonna be the next annoying faggot from Duke. He was doing the stupid classic Duke celebration of clapping, pumping his fast, and screaming after diving for a lose ball but then he almost got his ass kicked because he hit Hinnant in the back haha

I don't get why people like UNC and hate Duke. It's the same thing with the Red Sox and Yankees. For some reason one has the reputation as the good guys and one is the bad guys.

They are both highly competitive academic schools in North Carolina, both have incredibly successful coaches, and both have some national titles under their belt. So why is Duke the bad guy and UNC the good guy?

Because Duke is the small, private, preppy kid school with the stupid "cameron crazies" While UNC is the large state owned school that is pretty much the anti-Duke, so that makes them popular. Also, UNC has put way more players into the league, while Duke has won mostly on their system (Granted, they have put a lot of dudes into the league, but not as many you would except with their success + the guys aren't the same calibur as the UNC guys....some guy named Jordan)

Samething with the Sox Yankees. Even though the Red Sox have a high pay roll themselves, people don't view the Sox the same as the Yankees. People see the Yankees as the team that buys championship and people don't really like that. I guess people can relate to the Red Sox in a way? but I think they are popular because mostly they are the "Anti-Yankees" to a lot of people. For me personally, I was born in the Boston area so it's natural to hate the Yankees. I've been noticing a lot more Red Sox haters lately though, but its all good. People are just mad 'cuz Bostons been doing pretty good lately championship wise.

I dunno, I hate both the Yankees and the Red Sox so I can't say much about that. The thing is with the Yankees I actually like most of their players and I respect their management, but with the Red Sox I can't say the same. It was a hell of a play so I can see why he was celebrating. Paulus almost got his ass kicked? He was celebrating and accidentally tapped that BC guy and he went all thug on him. Yeah, shoving a guy is almost whipping his ass. Good observation.

I don't really see how you can use the argument of oh he scores all his points in the first half so he isn't clutch, kind of reaching there but ok. Let's take a look at the last 5 games Duke has won and see if JJ only scored his points in the first half.

3/12 against BC - 11 points in the first half and 15 in the second half.
3/11 against WF - 6 points in the first half and 14 in the second half.
3/10 against UM - 9 points in the first half and 16 in the second half.
3/4 against UNC - 11 points in the first half and 7 in the second half
3/1 against FSU - 14 points in the first half and 16 in the second half

I mean, do I really need to go on? You make it sound like he disappears when they are down or in the clutch. He scores 27 points a game when they win compared to 30 when they lose. He scores more on the road and in hostile environments. I don't really see how you can say he doesn't come through in the clutch. He's not going to hit every shot, that's pretty much a given. But if I was a coach and I needed a basket, I don't know if I could say I would want anyone else with the ball besides him.

The key to Duke winning is The Landlord though. In the three games they have lost, he had a terrible game in one, fouled out in one, and was in foul trouble the whole other game as well. He sucked against Georgetown with like 4 points and 4 fouls and fouled out against FSU. He fouled out against FSU at a critical time and still had like 20 and 16. Had 18 and 15 against UNC but was in foul trouble a good portion of the game so he had to play soft and TH basically had his way. I don't understand whoever talked about Shelden fouled out all the time earlier in his career and now he never does because he is "The Landlord". He still gets a lot of calls against him, and nearly every game he's in foul trouble.

Stima is right. Also, Duke is just very very unlikeable. All their players always have been. UNC is just a bunch of black guys playing NBA style exciting basketball, Duke has a lot of one-dimensional players that are all either ugly or look like assholes. Like Redick, come on, you know you would hate that guy if you met him in real life. He does his little "I'm the greatest" hand motion after he hits his wide-open threes but cries like a little bitch if anything doesn't go his way.

The main thing for me is I hear way too much about Duke and how great JJ is. How much do you really hear about UNC? You always hear about how they lost their top 7 scorers, how Hansborough is a great freshman, how Williams is a great coach. If you're watching a UNC game that's all you're going to hear. Now if you are watching a Duke game, or any college basketball game on ESPN for that matter, it could be Hofstra vs. Drexel and the commentators will still finds a way to tie it in to sucking JJ Redick's cock. I think by now everyone knows that JJ Redick is the greatest free throw shooter in history. We get it. They bring it up every time hes on the line, every time anyone is on the line, everytime the word "free throw" is spoken. I don't think people like hearing so much about JJ Redick when in actuality he isn't that great.

Do any of you really think JJ would get this much attention if he was black? Not even close. Realistically JJ is an excellent long range shooter, good passer with decent quickness with terrible defense, rebounding skills, and athleticism. Its only because he's white that he gets all the attention.

I dislike UNC but I really hate Duke. What is to like about Duke unless you're a student there/Durham resident? I've never understood how they have any fans outside of North Carolina.

Their is a reason why a lot of people don't like them though and it's just not because they are good all the time, there is plenty of teams that are good all the time and they don't get the same hate as Duke. For me personally, it really started in that National Championship game againest Arizona. Most bias reffing I have ever seen.

Part of the reason I prefer Duke to UNC is because everybody else hates them. But overall, under coach K, Duke always has the creme de la creme. Their players are good students, fundamental basketball players and consistantly one of the best teams since Coach K has been around.

Also, the Red Sox are not the anti-Yankees. The Red Sox are the Yankees in disguise of the A's and the Twins, who are actually the anti-Yankees.

Well by Anti-Yankees, I ment the team that is their main rival. Also, they are like more relaxed rule wise (like the facial hair thing etc) and people like that better (usually anyways) Somehow people on the Yankees respect the management more than members of the Red Sox though, so i don't know haha. I guess its kinda hard to disagree with management when every single player is overpaid though, so maybe that is right.

I think if you actually liked Duke, you wouldn't notice all the coverage they get on ESPN and shit. For me, I can never get sick of the Yankees/Red Sox rivaliary and I never notice it being on "too much" or anything because I never get sick of it. For people who are fans of other teams it makes sense. I think the samething happens with Duke, if you actually like Duke, you only notice fans hating on them. You don't notice Dickie V and others sucking JJ Redick's dick.

Oh I notice that they are on TV all the time. I notice that Dickie V likes to jerk off while watching them play too. That's the only reason I have any dislike for it, but there is always a mute button which serves well.

I think the reason they show the Laettner shot is because it was a pretty good play and was fairly recent. Michael Jordan left college before a lot of us were born. Yeah, they still do show his game-winning shot against Georgetown (http://members.aol.com/airjordan23si...dan_unc_09.jpg if you don't remember the shot). I've seen it a few times this year. Again, his last season was 83-84, and the Laettner shot was in '92. That might be a reason, and another reason they keep showing it is because it was one of the best games in NCAA history. The kid didn't miss a shot the whole game.

Like I said, I can see why people dislike Duke because of the coverage, but I just get irritated when people blindly bash their players.

Yeah I need to be shot becuase I said there was a biased againest MJ, I realize you are a huge Duke fan for some reason, but I never said anything about thier being a "bias" towards MJ. don't start jumping to conclussions here. The reason why I brought up Laettner and Jordan is becuase they show the Duke highlight 3000 times any time any type of NCAA basketball game is ever shown and they never show MJ's game winning shot. Granted, Laettner was a bit more impressive because of the inbounds pass but it's not THAT much better. I think it would make more sense to show the greatest basketball player ever and his game winning shot in college atleast a few times instead of constantly showing the Grant Hill/Leattner play. That is one of the reasons why people hate Duke, that's why I brought it up. Becuase Duke is constantly shoved down people's throat you just get sick of them and start to hate them. Thanks for letting me know that Leattner was good in COLLEGE though - I didn't realize he was good in COLLEGE.

It just gets annoying to hear about them ALL the time, like they actually play for Duke. Shit, a college basketball team has a lot of loud college kids?!?! FUCK NO OTHER TEAM HAS THAT. Only thing that makes them "Unique" is that their seats are really close to the court. I honestly don't see how anybody who hasn't gone to Duke or doesn't lives near Duke could like them, unless you only like teams because they win all the time. And hated on? They get so much love on EPSN its ridiculous, I've seen classic Duke highlights more times than I can count(Especially that Christian Lettner shot over and over and over and over and over) and I don't think I've seen one Michael Jordan (aka the greatest player of all time) UNC highlight this entire season. Their is a reason why a lot of people don't like them though and it's just not because they are good all the time, there is plenty of teams that are good all the time and they don't get the same hate as Duke. For me personally, it really started in that National Championship game againest Arizona. Most bias reffing I have ever seen.

BCWWF The People's Member Posts: 18,092	Part of the reason I prefer Duke to UNC is because everybody else hates them. But overall, under coach K, Duke always has the creme de la creme. Their players are good students, fundamental basketball players and consistantly one of the best teams since Coach K has been around. Also, the Red Sox are not the anti-Yankees. The Red Sox are the Yankees in disguise of the A's and the Twins, who are actually the anti-Yankees.

Also, they are like more relaxed rule wise (like the facial hair thing etc) and people like that better (usually anyways) Somehow people on the Yankees respect the management more than members of the Red Sox though, so i don't know haha. I guess its kinda hard to disagree with management when every single player is overpaid though, so maybe that is right. I think if you actually liked Duke, you wouldn't notice all the coverage they get on ESPN and shit. For me, I can never get sick of the Yankees/Red Sox rivaliary and I never notice it being on "too much" or anything because I never get sick of it. For people who are fans of other teams it makes sense. I think the samething happens with Duke, if you actually like Duke, you only notice fans hating on them. You don't notice Dickie V and others sucking JJ Redick's dick.

McLegend Temporary Posts: 15,621	I like Duke and JJ Reddick mostly becasue they are so hated, but it's pretty obvious that Dickie V has the biggest hard-on for JJ. Seriously if JJ Reddick actually took a gun out during a game and shot someone Dickie V would then praise Reddick's abitly to shoot a gun. He wouldn't even think twice about the guy Reddick shot. It's funny IMO.

That's the only reason I have any dislike for it, but there is always a mute button which serves well. I think the reason they show the Laettner shot is because it was a pretty good play and was fairly recent. Michael Jordan left college before a lot of us were born. Yeah, they still do show his game-winning shot against Georgetown (http://members.aol.com/airjordan23si...dan_unc_09.jpg if you don't remember the shot). I've seen it a few times this year. Again, his last season was 83-84, and the Laettner shot was in '92. That might be a reason, and another reason they keep showing it is because it was one of the best games in NCAA history. The kid didn't miss a shot the whole game. Like I said, I can see why people dislike Duke because of the coverage, but I just get irritated when people blindly bash their players.
