Not saying Cashman is a genious or anything but he did great things for the future so far. He should have planned some stuff better for this season though. Planning to rely on Pavano, the bench and bullpen could have been done a little better.

No idea. Basically I wanna worry about that in the offseason. Remember we were 13 1/2 games back from Boston 3 weeks ago. I really think we could start playing better and get to the playoffs.

Damon really should be put on the DL. He can't hit, field or run right now. He seems to be proud of the fact that he's never gone on the DL but he is really playing awful and the injuries keep piling up. Just this year he's had calf, back abdominal muscles and rib cage problems.

Shit, Mets are calling up Mike Pelfrey in a week to pitch in Philly. I'm going all the way to Philly for that game and I'm gonna have to watch Pelfrey probably get rocked

I mean, he's pitching well in New Orleans so you never know. But I dunno, not looking good.

One more thing. If there was any question as to whether or not Miguel Tejada is a selfish dickhead, here's your answer. To extend his consecutive games played streak, he started the game in the #2 spot, bunted into a fielder's choice out in the 1st inning, and was removed for a pinch-runner. Wow, what an iron man. Reminds me of another selfish Orioles shortstop

A game has to be 5 innings to be official but a player only has to play in a half-inning to get credit for a game played. Ripken pinch-hit in the 9th inning all the time to keep his streak alive.

I feel the Rockies sweep of the Yankees was just a minor setback for them. The Rockies have the best record in the MLB in the past month and a half.

Yeah, I guess it was pretty minor. We'll get them in San Fran. But to be on the safe side I am praying to god that during that time we don't have anything to do with Barry Zito. I know Bradley is a pretty big asshole and everything, but is he that horrible of an option? I'd think it would make sense for the Yankees seeing as Damon should be going on the DL. Gotta assume he's a better option than Kevin Thompson at least.

Who did the Tigers trade for Sheffield? I always thought it was Maroth or one of their average SPs, but apparently not, since I haven't noticed any former Tigers on the Yanks this year.

That trade looks pretty bad for this year. Sanchez is out for the year after TJ surgery and Sheffield is tearing it up.

I guess it hasn't worked out but Sanchez is still a top prospect. We don't have anywhere to put Sheffield. I've heard Whelan has front-line closer potential.

Yeah, we really didn't have a choice at the time. Sheffield wasn't gonna play 1B and couldn't play anywhere else.

I'm a little suspect on Sanchez though. He seemed to always be injured with Detroit and now has problems this year. Hopefully he can bounce back next year with no problems.

Wonder if Sanchez will be moved to a closer role though. Hopefully they keep him starting unless they think he can't stay healthy with that. He seems to have the stuff to be a good closer though.
