Fuckin Celts baby. Peirce is the real star. I mean, Allen is wet and KG is a monster. But I really think the focus, if there has to be a focus, should be on Pierce vs Kobe. That's the Magic/Bird logically if they must create one. It's about 2 team leaders who've been there the whole way.
Nothing away from KG, I've been ecstatic ever since getting him. This is such an epic finals. Fuck having to wait so long between games. |

Shit Kobe didn't hit alot of those jumpers he usually does, the celtics have a really good interior D so its gonna be tough for kobe to penetrate, then again every bad game Kobe's ever had, he usually bounces back the next game so i'm not too worried.

lol what the fuck. I am not going crazy over the game 1 loss. It was expected. Game 2 is huge though. Like Jalen Rose just said, whoever wins that will probably win the series.

never said i was a hardcore celtics fan. i'm not. what does that have to do with laughing at you for being a lakers (who i've always hated fyi) fan? chill out, buddy.
and i could name them because i have an amazing memory and would remember their names from learning them yesterday, but that doesn't prove anything since i could have just looked them up on the internet. all i know is that they have pj brown and i remember him from when i actually did watch basketball. |

"As heartbroken as I am right now, I have hope"
"Yeah, I'm tryna be optimistic.. Right now I'm crushed though." "Went out and had a long walk to cool down, it was all good." Which situation most closely describes where these posts would stem from? a) death in the family b) loss of job c) divorce pending d) reaction to Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals e) a, b, and c you see what I mean there? |

Well, I'll admit that I wasn't too thrilled, but before the 4th quarter ended, I was already thinking of the adjustments we need to make for game 2. I wasn't really that worked up over it. Maybe I'll semi-slip out if we lose game 2 also.

Sammy G, to say you didn't flip out is a lie. You said you punched and threw shit and were heartbroken, and went out for a long walk to let off steam. Suddenly you were all "I expected them to lose, it's okay Lakeshows gonna bounce back".
Granted theres a lot of basketball left to play. You should have believed me about how good the celtics are, and how good their D is. It's all about depth. Sure, Kobe goes nuts sometimes and takes over the game. Lets see him do that with D on him like this. He also can't compare to 3 powerhouses who can take over the game in similar fashion Last edited by Jeritron; 06-06-2008 at 05:32 PM. |

to be fair kobe did miss a lot of fucking shots last night that he normally makes. so if he gets his shit together it's going to be a lot closer, or go the other way. but like tron said, boston's defense is sick. what's going to make or break this whole thing are the games in LA. boston needs to get their shit together on the road, and they definitely need to take game 2.

I don't doubt Kobe could play better, but a lot is the pressure of our D on him. He's not gonna run all over the Celtics D. It's not about stopping him, thats impossible, but they can contain him extremely effectively.
Also, the Celtics didn't play their best. Honestly, they played as bad as they will. This team is fucking good. I've watched nearly every game of theirs. They're being severely underestimated, and they can and will play better. |

lol at people thinking the Peirce injury was some kind of work. Anyone who knew anything about basketball and/or Peirce they would know theres no way he would want to be out of the game for a moment longer than he had to. He walked out there on a sprain and played on it. It was a precaution.
Unless he had to it never would have happened. The dude's like Cal Ripken. Only the supporters/media of the team who lost would say something like that |

Not that it matters, because he came out and dropped two 3s that pretty much meant the end of the game.
I think the LA fans just didn't like it because they got excited about the prospect of playing a lessened Celtics and then had their hopes shattered |

It would be a good idea though. If your team needs that big push, faking an injury and then coming back like you are on top of the world would turn things around/in your favor.

yeah but his return to the floor lit that fucking building up, and there's nothing that boosts team morale more than a hot crowd. exaggerated or not, it worked in boston's favor.

Are you simple VEL? I didn't say Jackson outcoached Rivers, though Rivers is an idiot. If you had any intelligence at all, you would know that I said that before the game. I mean, I know you like to look like you know what you doing, and saying but come on.
Using Cassell, lol. Rivers got lucky that cassell made a couple shots, which seems like alot considering how badly Cassell sucks in these playoffs. It was game one, with Boston at home, they should have won. And when Kobe went to the bench, Lakers actually got closer, and you know, he needed a rest. I suppose you would have played him for 48. Now VEL like everything else in life, you know little about the sport of basketball. You don't really know what a foul is, or a carry. Your just some retard from Boston or somewhere in the North East who hopped on the bandwagon this year. You just watch the game and hope that Boston scores the most points. Maybe you've forgotton the first two rounds in the eastern conference, but I have't. I just find it hard to think that a team who beat Denver, Utah, and Spurs, relatively easily in the first 3 rounds, to lose to a team who had to fight and strggle it's way through the easiest playoff scheduale. |

Someone I know has 4 front row on the court tickets, one of the Celtics owners called him telling him that Jack Nicholson wanted to buy them and offered 250K for all 4.
he said "No, I'm going and taking my 3 sons". I'd expect game 2 to be a dog fight like the rest of the series, can't see this not going 6 or 7. |

at game 1, there were 2 lakers fans sitting on floor seats next to the Celtics bench, there is a story going around they bought the tickets for 50K each, and that one of the Celtics owners called the person who had the tickets and told them if they ever sold their seats to visiting team fans again he'd take their season tickets away. |
