Legend of the Day #10
![]() Height: 7'5" Hometown: Grenoble, FR Weight: 525LBS At 7'5" and more than 500 pounds, Andre the Giant could have been famous for his size alone. His drive, talent and ambition, however, proved to be as big as Andre himself, and the wrestler became legendary for his achievements in and out of the ring. Andre was born Andre Rene Roussimoff in Grenoble, France on May 19, 1946. His parents, Boris and Marian Roussimoff, and four siblings were of average size. Andre, however, suffered from acromegaly, a disease that results in an over abundance of growth hormones. Also known as Giantism, this disease caused Andre's body to continue growing his whole life, and by the time he was 17 he stood 6'7". Due to his immense stature it seemed inevitable that Andre would excel in the wrestling world. He had just started to make a name for himself in the ring as "Monster Eiffel Tower" or "Monster Roussimoff" when French-Canadian wrestler Edouard Carpentier first laid eyes on him. Carpentier was impressed with Andre's raw talent and decided to bring him to North America. Andre began wrestling under the name Jean Ferre in Canada for Grand Prix Promotions. In a short time Andre went from the undercard to being a headlining name. Inspired by the movie King Kong he acquired the nickname, "The 8th Wonder of the World," which stayed with him for the rest of his career. By the time Andre had performed in front of 20,000 wrestling fans in Montreal, his legend had reached Vince McMahon, Sr. at the World Wide Wrestling Federation's (WWWF) headquarters. McMahon would forever alter Andre's life. In 1972, McMahon signed Andre to wrestle for the WWWF and changed his name to capitalize on his enormity. "Andre the Giant" became one of the most recognizable names in wrestling. Andre performed under his new name at Madison Square Garden, where he easily defeated his opponent Buddy Wolfe without breaking a sweat. Before long, Andre's venues were sold out and wrestlers lined up to perform in his shadow. As Andre's fame grew to stardom, he was featured in Sports Illustrated in the largest feature they had ever published. In 1987 Andre drew the biggest crowd in WWF (formerly WWWF) history thus far. A record 90,000 fans packed the Pontiac Silver Dome in Detroit, Michigan to watch Andre wrestle fellow legend Hulk Hogan in the main event of WrestleMania III. In all, Andre participated at six WrestleManias and faced some of the toughest opponents in the business, including Big John Studd and Jake "The Snake" Roberts. For many years he was known as the "Uncrowned Champion," until he found his place in infamy and held the WWF title for the shortest reign in history. This wasn't the only championship Andre captured - he also won titles in the (NWA), (IWA) and the WWF Tag Team Championship. Andre's fame also opened the door to Hollywood. He made his acting debut in 1975 as "Big Foot" in The Six Million Dollar Man. Andre enjoyed the experience and went on to appear in television shows including B.J. and the Bear, The Fall Guy and The Greatest American Hero, and movies such as Conan the Destroyer, Micki and Maude, and Trading Mom. His favorite role, and the one for which he is best remembered, was the lovable giant "Fezzik" in Rob Reiner's classic The Princess Bride. Andre's last television appearance was on a celebration of 20 years of NWA/WCW wrestling on TBS. Sadly, over the years the effects of acromegaly had continued to wear down his body. Eventually his immense size was just too much for his heart, and Andre the Giant died in Paris, France in his hotel room on January 27, 1993. His ashes were later taken home and spread over his North Carolina ranch. Though professionally Andre will always be remembered as The 8th Wonder of the World, he is known and loved by fans across the globe as The Gentle Giant. Notes on The Rock:
- "IF YOU SMELL...WHAT THE ROCK...IS COOKING" Large WWE logo shows where Titan Tron would be. It cuts back to see The Rock walk out on stage. He stops halfway down, looks at the crowd, takes a couple of steps back, looks the other side of the crowd and then continues walking to the ring. He walks up the steps and along the apron to the turnbuckle where he climbs up and taunts. The Rock looks fantastic, one of the best models in the game IMO. He gets in the ring and climbs the turnbuckle and taunts again. - Match starts out against Triple H with a shoving battle. Rock has a terrible first shove so match begins properly. Rock takes down Triple H with a running elbow. Rock then ducks a clothesline from Triple H and hits one of his own. Rock DDT's Triple H and nips up after. He picks up Triple H and then gives him a Samone Drop. Rock then gives Triple H another DDT. - Rock gives Triple H a suplex and then claps to himself. He then does his "Rock Angry" move. He picks up Triple H and scoopslams him then gives him a dragon screw. - Video opens with Rock taunting Triple H. He then picks him up and gives him a Rock Bottom. He picks him up and gives him a clothesline. Rock goes over to Triple H's head and does a People's Elbow. The Rock pins Triple H after 5:20 Well it seems that it's HCTP Hollywood Rock in a different attire and new enterance ![]() ![]() |

Legend of the Day #11(FINAL)
![]() Height: 6' Hometown: Calgary, Canada Weight: 235lbs Bret Hart, son of wrestler and trainer Stu Hart, grew up with many brothers, which made him determined to be a great wrestler like his father. Wrestling with the likes of the British Bulldog and Chris Benoit in his father's Dungeon, Bret soon learned his craft well. He became one of the main attractions as "The Hitman" in the Stampede Federation, as well as a few other organizations. He earned part of his mystique due to his shyness. In interview segments, since he didn't want the audience to see his eyes, he started wearing wraparound shades. With the Calgary Stampede, Bret had two reigns as the British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Champion; was a 5-time International Tag-Team Champion; and won the North American Heavyweight Belt 6 times. In 1985, he joined the WWF, wrestling in a low-card status for a time. Then he was recruited by Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart and was teamed up with Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, his future brother-in-law, forming the rulebreakers known as the Hart Foundation. After a year together, the team finally made it to the top, defeating the British Bulldogs for the Tag-Team Titles in January '87, partially thanks to the help of Danny Davis, the referee they had paid off. They engaged in feuds with the Bulldogs for the next few months, which included making Davis wrestle with the Hart Foundation. The team went on to other feuds with various tag-teams in the WWF, holding the belts until the end of October, when they were finally defeated by Strike Force (Tito Santana & Rick Martel). It didn't take long for Hart to shake up the WWF as a singles competitor. During the King of the Ring competition in '91 (which was televised), Hart defeated Pete Dougherty, Skinner, and Irwin R. Schyster to take the tournament. Because of this win, Hart was given the Intercontinental Title shot against Mr. Perfect (Curt Hennig) at Summerslam. Hart came through, defeating Perfect with his new finisher, the Sharpshooter, to become the champ. Hart held the title until the beginning of '92, when he lost the belt to the Mountie. An illness kept him from getting the rematch for the title, so he gave his shot over to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper then defeated the Mountie at the Royal Rumble '92. Hart then met Piper for the belt at Wrestlemania VIII. The two fought hard, but kept things clean, as Piper decided not to use a foreign object to win the match. Hart won out in the end, winning the Intercontinental Title for the second time. Hart and Piper then parted as friends. In October '92, he completed his climb, defeating Ric Flair to become the WWF World Champion. Hart stayed the champion for almost six months, having some great matches with wrestlers like Papa Shango, Shawn Michaels, and Razor Ramon (Scott Hall). The Hitman usually employed the Sharpshooter to come out the victor, and remain the World Champ. Hart next went back against Shawn Michaels, and the two were set up in a 60-minute Iron Man Match at Wrestlemania XII. It has been argued as being one of the greatest matches in WWF history, as both men went to their limits and beyond. At the end of the time limit, the Hitman had the Heart Break Kid in the Sharpshooter. Unfortunately, the time expired, leaving the decision undecided. This led to the powers that be announcing that the match would continue in Sudden Death. Michaels, able to recover during the short break, managed to get the pin on Bret, taking away the World Title. Hart then left the wrestling business for the next few months, taking some time off to rest and recuperate. In the later months of '96, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin began sending out challenges to Hart in his interviews. After many insults from Austin, Bret finally reappeared, to the crowd's delight. Hart faced off against Austin in a great technical match at the Survivor Series. The two fought for nearly 30 minutes, with Hart getting the pinfall victory in the end to show that he was still a major player in the WWF. Hart then went back to the top brackets, going after then-World Champion Sycho Sid. Unfortunately, interference from Hart's old nemesis Michaels cost Hart the win. After facing the Undertaker one more time at One Night Only, where he won via DQ, Hart went through a brief feud against the Patriot and Vader, with the British Bulldog again helping him out. The Canadians won out over the American team. Hart then went back to feuding with Michaels, who had allies of his own in Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Rick Rude (the start of Degeneration-X). The two faced off at Survivor Series '97 in a highly-anticipated match. It soon, however, became one of the most infamous moments in wrestling history. Earlier in the month, Hart had given his notice to Vince McMahon, saying that he was leaving the WWF. This was to be his final match. At one point during the fight, Michaels got Hart in a version of the Sharpshooter. Before Hart could fight his way out, McMahon came out and ended the match, making Michaels the World Champion. The screwjob completely shocked the Hitman, as it wasn't part of the expected storyline. Hart spit in McMahon's face and walked out. It was later claimed that the two fought in the backstage area, with Hart breaking McMahon's jaw. Either way, Hart was finished with the WWF. In December '97, Bret showed up in WCW; but after years of being under-used and underappreciated, Bret Hart announced his retirement in late 2000 following a serious injury. Notes on Andre the Giant:
- Andre comes out first, to no music. He comes out on stage and raises his arm, and continues to the ring. Andre looks fucking amazing. Andre steps over the top rope and taunts the crowd. - Test of Strength starts the match off between Andre and Big Show. Would be interesting to see who would win this in real life. Andre wins it and gets the first blow in. Andre sticks Show's head inbetween his knee's and jumps up and down. Andre then headbutts Show and gives him a side suplex and another headbutt. - Andre chops down Show and gives him a headbutt to the back of Show's head. Andre slams Show's head into his knee which knocks him out. Andre picks him up and smacks Show in his lower back. Holy Crap! Andre just scoopslammed Big Show. Andre gives Show a sidewalk slam and then taunts. - Andre knocks down Show with a shoulder tackle and then whips him into the corner where he pounds Show's head on the turnbuckle 10 times. Andre then gives Show his Big Splash, but it's broken up by a ropebreak. Andre drags Show into the middle of the ring and gives him another Big Splash for the 3 after 2:07. Andre looks amazing. They were fighting in the Wrestlemania 20 arena, which look amazing too. |

Notes on Bret Hart:
- Music starts and Bret comes out and walks down to the ring. He looks soooooo good. Bret gets in the ring and taunts the crowd. Bret climbs out of the ring and gives his glasses away to a fan. Bret gets back in the ring and walks around abit. - Match starts out straight away against Chris Benoit. Hart goes to level Benoit with a clothesline but misses. He gives Benoit a nasty chop which knocks Benoit down. Bret picks him up and gives him a shinebreaker, a gutbuster and a DDT. - Bret gives Benoit a neckbreaker and a butterfly suplex. Hart picks up Benoit and gives him a snap suplex, and follows it up with a gutwrench suplex. - Bret whips Benoit into the corner and gives him a suplex off the top. Bret kicks Benoit in the gut and gives him his Piledriver finisher. Bret drags him to the center of the ring and locks in the Sharpshooter. Benoit manages to escape after battling hard and the video ends without showing a winner. Bret looks absolutley stunning. I can not wait for this game to come out now, despite some of the recent disappointments. Bret is going to be the first legend I unlock. Cant wait ![]() |

When I first start playing the game, I'm only going to create myself and a Undisputed Title. Might make it look like the WWF title, if I can afford it.
As for legends, I'm probably going to unlock them in this order: 1 - Bret Hart 2 - The Rock 3 - Andre the Giant 4 - Mankind 5 - Roddy Piper 6 - Jimmy Snuka 7 - Animal 8 - Hawk 9 - Brutus Beefcake 10 - Masked Kane 11 - Legend Undertaker |

This site is the mother of all wrestling game news sites. I don't know how this guy gets the games so early, but he posted a ton of movies and screens for Showdown: Legends of Wrestling and now he's done the same for Smackdown vs Raw. Probably a ton of spoilers. The site does require you to join but it's free. |
