Yeah but given Manny's contract status, it seems more plausible now. I'm just imagining if the Mets made that trade...and then did another move and got a reliever like Chad Bradford on the cheap as a salary dump. And then Church and Castillo come back...

I really can't see the Yankees signing him at all. We'll already have the DH spot full and I don't want him in LF in Yankee Stadium everyday. I also think Yankee fans and Girardi in particular would get fed up with his lack of hustle and just crazy shit really quick.

I mean just yesterday the Sox were getting no-hit and if Manny would have even jogged a little faster he would have gotten a hit.

Nah but seriously, this is an even trade when you think about it. In realization, Pudge is done. Don't know if you Yankees fans know this, but Pudge doesn't play every day. Whereas Farnsworth is not a great pitcher, he is a legit bullpen arm. Pudge's numbers have gone down every year including this year. When a team is desperate, they will overpay for someone. This is what the Yankees have done.

I thank Pudge for what he did for the Tigers. But it was time to move on, and I'm glad about this

We don't need Pudge to play everyday, Molina has been amazing this year. We just can't really afford to play Chad Moeller every few days

I think he'll be catching most days.

He isn't a premier offensive catcher anymore but he is a huge upgrade from Molina.

And Splaya, how can you say the Yankees overpayed for him? You do know who Kyle Farnsworth is right? He has been solid this year but I don't think any Yankee fan truly trusted him. Kinda feel a little bad for the guy, he was pretty broken up about being traded on the postgame show today.

The fact is that Farnsworth was pretty much our 5th best bullpen arm this year. It will obviously help the Tigers though considering he will be one of their better bullpen guys.

I think that counts his Japan time, they have been making it a minor deal. I dont think they should count.

Not one of those guys will be back with their team, but the best bet is Pudge. Teix is going to want a ransom, and the Angels MIGHT pay, but they already have a huge payroll. Brewers cant afford Sheets and CC, they will be lucky to get Sheets. CC will end up with a NY or Chicago team, I am calling it now. Teix will end up back in Texas!

Seems like Manny to the Marlins is pretty much a done deal...shit.

Marlins get: OF Manny Ramirez and a prospect from Boston
Red Sox get: OF Jason Bay and LHP John Grabow
Pirates get: OF Jeremy Hermida, 2 prospects from Florida, and one prospect from Boston

I'm assuming the prospects Boston is giving aren't all that good. And this is all pending Manny waiving his no trade clause.

I dunno, I love Manny Ramirez. He's a huge goofball that just does whatever he feels like doing and always seems to be involved in odd plays like him rolling around last week after missing a ball ROFL. I will always remember that play where a ball was hit to him and the cutoff man was literally 10 feet from him and he like beamed the ball at him almost killing the guy. haha

Tonight he caught a ball near the monster and spun into the wall and rolled off it like 2 times with a guy on 3rd and one out lol. There was absolutely no way he was gonna get the guy tagging up but it was still hilarious if you saw it. It almost looked like he thought the inning was over
