Yeah, younger the better...though I'm not really big on rookie jerseys.

I think I got my Shockey jersey after his great rookie year. It served me well for 3 or so years but by then the numbers were starting to fade a bit, and I wound up making the mistake of getting an older player jersey. I got a Tiki Barber jersey and seriously he announced his retirement a week later.

I figured "well, it's ok...I can still wear it as he'll always be remembered"...then once he became a total prick I pretty much retired the jersey and stuck with the worn out Shockey on game days for another year.

Now that he's gone, I've got a brand new Tuck jersey and I got my dad an Umenyiora for his birthday. Defensive ends 4tw

I was tempted to get an away jersey after last year's success on the road but the fact that there's no blue in them still bothers me a bit.

I own a Brees and a "throwback" Sam Mills jersey, which is one reason I was leaning towards Ellis, cause who wants two #51 jerseys from the same team..

I was thinking about a white Will Smith jersey too..

Weird ass ending to the Jets game.

Redskins were up 13-10.

5 seconds left in the 4th.

Jets at the Skins 6 yd line. 3rd and goal.

Mangini decides to kick a fg to send it to overtime for some reason?

And Mike Nugent misses the 23 yd fg and the Jets lose anyway. Preseason yeah but I dunno kinda dumb.

How is it a bad move?

They would not have done anything with Pennington this year.

Clemens also hasn't been that great. Being a backup under Favre will help him "develop". They would have been like 5-11 I bet if Clemens started this year.

Also just the publicity factor. Everyone is talking about and watching the Jets now.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Favre's abilities right now but its better than whatever they had before. Favre will end the season with a terrible game in the playoffs (has the last 5 seasons)

True, it will help with people following the Jets, how many Favre jerseys do you think get shipped to WI?

I just think they still wont make the playoffs with him and to give up a pick which is a young/potential player for a gun slinger who will now be in a "system" where before he was the "system" just didn't make a lot of sense to me... they'd have been better with chad and keeping the pick. but time will tell.

Word is he didn't make the Tampa trip due to an "sore foot"... I'd worry about this as much as I'd worry about people who are worried about Manning this year.
It's possible Manning might not play the opening game.

Jason "TOAST" David is the worst cornerback in the league.. Byfar.. Bobby Herbert was saying that he thinks Payton is keeping him with alot of playing time in the preseason, allowing himself to prove he's the same overpaid piece of shit he was last year.. So when he cuts him in the next week or two, no arguement will ensue..

Fuck Jason David in his stupid ass..

Gonna be interesting to watch the G-Men tomorrow seeing as their top 5 receivers are all not gonna play (Burress, Toomer, Smith, Tyree, Manningham).

Domenik Hixon, Sinorice Moss, Michael Jennings, DJ Hall, and Craphonso Thorpe are gonna be pretty much auditioning for Tyree and Manningham's spots since they are both probably gonna start on the PUP list.

I think Hixon is pretty secure based on his return abilities, unless they decide to go with Bradshaw instead.

Yeah Hixon is prolly the safest bet, but he's also playing for more playing time with the injuries.

Another guy I forgot to mention is Brandon London, supposedly he's been impressing in camp.

If Tyree and Manningham are both headed for the PUP list (Tyree is almost a foregone conclusion, not sure on Manningham)...at least 3 of those WR are gonna make the team...possibly even 4 if nobody establishes themselves as a 3rd TE

Which I think is retarded. For a team like Chicago, that has an established playoff calibur team but sucks at QB, it would work, but for Buffalo and the Jets, 2 rebuilding teams, it is retarded, because even if he plays solid, you are still needing a Franchise QB. I dont think the Jets are that much better with Farve, because they need so much more.

Trading for Farve is something you do to win NOW, gambling the future for present success, which is exactly the opposite of what the Jets should have been doing.

that was my point with the Jets, they weren't just a QB away from competing for a SB... Chicago it would have made sense, Tampa it would have made sense. NYJ it's silly, he doesn't win them a Division, he doesn't put them in a SB and they gave up a pick and a year where they could have been grooming Clemens (if that's their guy)

They aren't really gambling anything though. At worst a second round pick, in return for a year (or maybe 2?) of Favre. I will take that. Like I said they weren't gonna do shit with Pennington or Clemens this year. IT would have been a terrible year regardless. I don't think Clemens is gonna be their franchise QB of the future so they don't have a QB regardless. It is not like they are trading away a ton of promising young players and three draft picks for Favre. It's one draft pick for a winning season and a trip to the playoffs (10-6 WATCH) and thousands of Favre jerseys sold, and a media circus around the Jets. They are on the front page of every paper in NY. Not the Super Bowl champ Giants.

The positives far outweigh the negatives. I would take this deal any day EASY

Draft picks are worth so much more than money these days, especially to a NY team with deep pockets IMHO.

But yes, they are going to make mad money off this, good point.

I just dont see it panning out. Even with Farve I dont see the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets finishing any higher than 3rd in the AFC East, no way does that get them a playoff spot. Maybe next year, but Farve will be even another year older, so then in the end, they get 2 years of Farve, and are abck at square one.



BTW, does anyone see the Farve/Rodgers/Brohm thing playing out like Montana/Young/Bono? Does that mean the Jets can plan on getting Brohm in a few years?

This guy Syndric Steptoe for the Browns has been real impressive too, too bad they already have an all star kick returner in Cribbs because he could be pretty dangerous in that role.

And as far Boldin leaving, if he wants to then let him. I really think money is the issue at hand but he claims it's something else. I'd wish he stick around for 1 more year and if the Cards do jack shit (which they will) then he should ask for the trade in the off season. But if he really wants out then the Cards should shop heavily.

Didn't see any of the game...a little bummed to see Woodson only got to throw the ball once, but it makes sense because they wanna settle the #2 QB job asap.

Danny Ware was pretty sick 3rd stringer for UGA. He was the only football player I ever knowingly had in one of my classes.

No, I don't think Rodgers is going to be the good in the NFL just basing it off where he came from. Pretty sure every single first round QB from the Jeff Tedford system has come in and failed in the NFL
