A mix of both really. There's a few still around but they generally aren't called enforcers anymore. Especially with the fine and suspension for instigating with, under 5 or 10 minutes left forget what it was, they don't get put out on the ice to send messages for next time anymore.

Pests as well.

Grinders is more a term for a forward that works hard in the retrieval of the puck in the offensive zone.

There are still enforcers in the league, but they are not as prominent as they used to be.

Got back from partying and watching the Wings/Ducks game. The Mike Brown on Jiri Hudler hit absolutely deserves Mike Brown at minimum a one game suspension. He can bullshit all he wants that it was a shoulder, but he absolutely went for the face.

Got back from partying and watching the Wings/Ducks game. The Mike Brown on Jiri Hudler hit absolutely deserves Mike Brown at minimum a one game suspension. He can bullshit all he wants that it was a shoulder, but he absolutely went for the face.
Yeah, no excuse/room for that ANYWHERE in the NHL really. Fucking dumbass commissioner let him off with fucking time served with just the game misconduct, when he should have been suspended for the rest of the series (conference semi's), because who's to say he won't pull the same shit in Gm.'s 3-7?

And slow-mo really makes the hit look worse than it was.

He can claim whatever the fuck he wants, point is he probably wanted to get to his hot fuck at the cheap-ass motel in town he was staying at quicker, and decided to pretty much end the game right then and there with that heinous call. Plus I'd like to know the same thing as Mike Babcock: WHERE THE FUCK WAS THE ******* REVIEW?
