AL hasn't dominated the ASG for a few years now...they barely squeak by. That being said, I'm guessing AL wins another close one and a Phillies player strikes out in a pinch-hitting role to end the game, making Manuel look like a huge homer.

Thankfully, the home field advantage rule hasn't made a difference since it started as the WS has gone 3-3 since it was put into effect. Of course, two of the NL's WS wins were depressing for me as I hate the Phillies and seeing the Cards win the WS just made me think "if only the Mets coulda won Game 7..."

And in other news, the Nats finally fire Manny Acta

Think Joe Mauer has had a better first half than Bay, although Bay has been huge for the Red Sox this year.

Can't argue with Pujols though, almost had the 1st half tripe crown

Yeah, Mauer has been the best player in the AL. But factoring in that Mauer missed 25 games and that the Twins are in 3rd place, I thought Bay was more deserving.

The only problem with that idea is nobody knows exactly how far back steroids in baseball has been occurring. You could go by stats or by player appearances but if the San Diego Chargers of the early 1960s are considered the 1st roid team, you have to figure it is possible steroids or enhancements could be older. That and it seems every few years new stuff that was once legal to use becomes illegal in sports.

Best would be to just use an asterix or have a note saying this record occured during a known steroid era.

Also watched the Celebrity/Legends Softball game. Nelly made a pretty sick diving catch in the outfield and also hit a 2-run dinger. Also, Bobby Knight played 1B and argued over a call.

these ceremonies are awful. So are Buck and McCarver. Fox sucks.

Anyway I kinda have a really bad feeling that if the NL loses it, it will be due to K-Rod...whenever he comes in. I felt the same way about Wagner last year and he allowed the tying run.

Come to think K-Rod's prolly the favorite to pitch the 9th now that Broxton is out of the game. Gonna be so pissed if the game is lost due to a Met, but it's one of those years I guess.
