Wow, he put the '02 Pirates there
![]() Can't really argue with the list, even though there's a ton of Yankee teams on it. I've always held the opinion that the '39 Yankees were the greatest team ever. This was the year, Gehrig retired and Dimaggio pretty much had to carry the load. |

There is no way the 98 Yankees are the 3rd best team of all time.

I don't think it's a good thing when your favorite team has 3 pitchers on the DL to start the year.

Scott Schoeneweis apparently wins the final bullpen spot for the Red Sox.
Yeah, that's gonna bite them in the ass at some point. |

Well, there is is. 20-year old top pitching prospect Jenrry Mejia has made the Mets' Opening Day bullpen.
I'm torn. On one hand, they have such a short leash this year that they need to take the best relievers north, and Mejia's had great stuff all spring and has pitched better than pretty much any other guy in camp. On the other hand, the whole idea of taking the "best players in camp" seems moot when Sean Green somehow made the team ahead of Bobby Parnell and Nelson Figueroa. I just really hope they don't make Mejia the next Joba. Stick him in the pen now, fine...if he's lights out then declare him the future closer. But don't move him back and forth between the bullpen and rotation. Whatever, I'm excited to see what the kid can do. Hope it works out. |

I don't know enough to make a full out prediction but at least the Red Sox are trying something different with their lineup. At first I was like "What the fuck?" but I am slowly starting to come around. I mean nobody is going to match up with the Yankees offensively, it's impossible. Might as well try to focus on defense and I think they've done that with their pick-ups. I don't understand the defensive statistics at all but I've heard a ton of things about Beltre and Cameron being among the league leaders the last few years at their positions in "saving runs" - however they figure that out?
Scutaro is just keeping the seat warm for 1 year until this young player they have done in the minors is ready to go. From what I am hearing he is finally suppose to the be the answer at SS after the revolving door that's been there since Nomar was traded. I thought Jed Lowrie was gonna be "that guy" but I guess not. Glad to see Ellsbury changed his number to 2, way more swag than 46. I am a big number-in-relation-to-swag guy |

Jose Iglesias, I've heard he is a year away from being the starter.
This online site I just double checked his name on is making seem like he isn't as good as I thought though. So I guess we'll see. |

Iglesias will probably be the next Omar Vizquel. Sick glove, will hit around .280.
Also, Clay Buchholz is going to wear no. 11. Find that one a little interesting. |

Yankees
Red Sox Phillies Cardinals What is the % chance that the eventual WS winner ISN'T one of those 4 teams? I'm not sure I've seen a single prediction by any "expert" that didn't involve one of those 4 teams winning it all (and most had 2 of them in the WS). |

The only roster move the Mets made that pissed me off was Sean Green somehow making the team. Dude has sucked all spring and looks lost with his new pitching motion. Nelson Figueroa and Bobby Parnell both pitched much better and got the shaft. Green can be optioned but is guaranteed his full salary no matter what. That's the only reason I can think for him to make the team, a big league salary needs to be justified with a big league roster spot.
No big deal though...he'll probably be on the cutting room floor once Kiko Calero gets his arm strength up. ![]() |

Blue Jays sign Adam Lind to a 4 year, $18 million deal. Also includes THREE club options that could bump the total to 7 years, $38.5 million.
I don't know whether to commend Alex Anthopoulos, or yell at Lind's agent for being retarded. |
