Never heard of him, but this Ray Holiday is pretty good. Think he's got potential to have a decent career.

I agree with what Vito said though. No doubt that Halladay was getting the no no. Reds didn't have solid contact ever.
Nice job, Illadelphia. |

Also, these announcers are terrible. Never heard so little enthusiasm for big plays in a playoff game.

These announcers have no idea what to say during any big moment in the game. The call when Granderson hit that triple earlier was the worst I've ever heard. Didn't know what was going on, said the wrong score, etc...

Did the umpires screw up? Because that game should have been over before the next player broke his bat. From where I was sitting at least Greg Golson caught that ball. Why did the game go on?
And yeah I love Roy Halladay. That guy is awesome. Can't really stand the Phillies though. |

what a day yesterday. Unfucking believable performance by Halladay. The guy's first post season start and he does that. I'm glad I got to see that. 2nd time in basbeall history since 1903. are you kidding me? I made my wife, who's not a huge sports fan, sit there and watch the last 3 outs cause I don't think we're seeing that again.
Legend, if you can get your hands on a Penn newspaper, I'll send you money for it. Supreme, I haven't read any posts here yet, but sorry buddy. not the best way to see your team in the post season after so long. hopefully the Reds hit Oswalt today. Great comeback by the Yanks. I think this is like the 40th post season comeback on the Twins. I thought that hit by Granderson was just a routine popup, but the thing just kept carrying. Oh and lol @ the 9th inning blunder by the umps. That's a tough call to make, BUT THERE'S AN UMPIER STANDING IN RIGHT FIELD. WTF?????? good times |

"Wow babe he got it, he's amazing, ridiculous."
"But the hitter hit the ball, how is it a no hitter?" "He has to hit the ball and get on base to count as a hit." "Oh" |

any of the top newspapers from Pennsylvania. If you can get one from Philly, that would be awesome. When something historic happens in sports, I usually save the newspaper.

There's a couple positives the Reds can take from yesterday. Or at least there are several negatives that can be spun as positives. I think it was fairly obvious the Phillies were going to win game 1. They had the best pitcher in baseball going at home. The fact that it was a no hitter is nice, but in the end it doesn't matter whether the Reds had 15 hits or 0. A loss is a loss. After Volquez left in the 2nd inning, the Reds pitchers gave up 1 hit the rest of the way to a terrifying Phillies lineup. Every player besides Halladay and Victorino was unproductive.
I just hope Dusty keeps the team focused. He did it after that Cardinals series in July when everyone thought the Reds were done and hopefully he can do it again. Just gotta remind everyone that even if Halladay throws another no hitter the next time he pitches, the Reds can still win the series. Thinking Phillies in 4 though.

Reds have hit Oswalt pretty good this year. They may take game 2.

I don't know about Montero dude. I don't think the Yankees have too much promise in him as catcher because of his build as catcher. I think they see him as more of a DH 1st baseman. And we're pretty set when it comes to that. I think the one who is probably gonna be catcher may be Romine. The Yankees almost traded Montero for Soria earlier this year. He's a great closer and would have been a great 8th inning guy. But, unfortunately I see Montero traded to a team who is in need of a first baseman or DH for a solid starter or a good bat or some need like that. Trust me I love Montero but seeing as how they were this close to trading him for Lee and again for Soria I see him traded at some point. If that's not the case though I look forward to seeing him in a Yankee Uniform. |
