We just witnessed a historic night in baseball. It'll be talked about for years.
WOW. Fuck a 2nd Wild Card team. We're fine as we are! |

Seriously like every team in the playoffs now except the Yanks and Phils. Could be some classic games.

LOL it's so true, what Harold Reynolds said. Coming into the season, the "big news" out of Tampa were the signings of Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez. THAT WAS IT. Carlos Pena was gone, Carl Crawford was gone, Matt Garza was gone.
Who would've thought that Carl Crawford, who signed with Boston, would be at home watching the Rays in the Playoffs? So incredible. |

Os beat the Red Sox 5 times out of 7 in the last 10 days.
Wish it were the Yankees going home, but the Red Sox are the next best.. |

Carl Crawford may never be able to win the Boston fans over. Bad year, fucks up to cost the Sox the game, and then it immediately launches his old team into the playoffs.

Can't blame it on him though since he finally started hitting good enough and for a while was the #1 hitter for the month in the entire league.
The pitching (1 win between Beckett and Lester till yesterday) and the bullpen killed the team the entire month. Francona also takes some of the blame for not reacting quicker along with the GM who had no backup plan once Buccholz went down. Tampa's #1 starter was horrible today but the Yankees tanked enough to put him off the hook and Tampa's series against the Red Sox helped them a lot for the month. |

My order of preference for WS champions:
1. Tigers (soft spot for Detroit teams, plus Verlander is the man) 2. Rays (may as well be 1-A, incredible story) 3. Diamondbacks (worst to first, and then some...can't go wrong) 4. Brewers 5. Rangers 6. Cardinals 7. Phillies 8. Yankees Honestly 4-6 are basically interchangeable, but I'd be happy with any of them. The top 6 teams to me will pretty much just be the Alliance to End PhilkeeMania |

Go look on espn.com in the headlines section. The give Boston the word "out", while they put "collapse" on the Braves.

With that said, Ellsbury had an amazing year, and except for last night Papelbon came back big from '10.

I think it will be Texas vs Brewers. I honestly believe Texas is the best in the AL. Good pitching. Great bullpen, great bats. World Series experience last year. No one is talking about them. I think the Rangers win it all.

I had to get that out of my system, I like all the Red Sox fans on the board.
I'm worried about Detroit and Texas, both are peaking at the right time. Texas's offense is unreal and they always hit us. Yankees can't figure out Verlander or how to get Cabrera out. |

I really do hate the Rays more than the Yankees. They spend all year biting your ankles in an empty stadium and then come September the fans decide to show up and give themselves Mohawks and cover themselves in blue. If I lived in a great baseball city with a bad team, like Kansas City or Pittsburgh I would still hate them just as much. The Yankees do have their fair amount of diehard fans who will support the team no matter how bad they suck.

And I can't stand Dick Vitale as the unofficial spokesman for the team.
