At least this year has the excuse of Bailey being out really screwed up the closer role while Bard has already complained he doesn't want to go back to the bullpen.

Melancon didn't do himself any favors by sucking badly so far when there was some serious debate of him and not Aceves as the closer.

Last year was a huge WTF with Papelbon and Bard struggling right out of the gate.

Yankees players sucked this series but Girardi has made so many idiotic decisions already its kind of unbelievable.

First game it was intentionally walking a .220 hitter to load the bases for Carlos Pena, in the first inning. Then in the 2nd game of the season he thinks Jeter needs a half day off already so plays him at DH. Nunez predictably boots a routine grounder that leads to two runs. And then in the third game decides to play 87 year old Raul Ibanez in the OF because Swisher needs a half day off in the third game of the season. There really shouldn't be any reason Ibanez should be in the OF over Andruw Jones anyway.

At least Aceves and Melancon are earning their Yankee pinstripes...

I dont really have a problem with the Rays, but fuck the Red Sox and Yankees. The Sox and Yankees are both entirely vulnerable this year, neither of them scares anyone right now. The Os stood up to the Red Sox last year and knocked em out of the playoffs, all the Os need to do now is do the same thing vs the Yankees (and not go 5-13 vs the Yankees like they've done the last 3 years).

Red Sox bullpen didn't blow it today. Strange season so far with Red Sox having a double blown save in a game while their opponents have blown 2 saves already.

They finally won a game. Doubront looked pretty good for his first start ever in the bigs I believe.
