Idk, the combat has become boring in skyrim to me. I just want to finish getting the achievements now. The story is ok, but the acting/scenes are so wooden.

At this point, you have probably explored everywhere. That is what was appealing in my eyes, because the story and combat isn't a second time.
Wish I was a PC Gamer, loads of mods for it. |

Which achievements do you still have to get? I got all the 50 main ones pretty quickly and easily, not to brag or put you down, just sayin'...

Why in gods name would you not want to be a vampire?
What reward do you get for joining dawngaurd that could possibly match up to the things you can do as a vampire lord. |

Because...once you contract Porphyric Hemophilia, if you go for 3 days without seeking or obtaining a cure in time, your character is a vampire for the rest of their lives, and vampirism has never appealed to me as far as the TES games go. Although obviously I can't speak for everyone here who wouldn't want to be one, that is my personal take.

I have half the cheevos. I only get to play like 8 hours a week at best so in a game like Skyrim, that isn't much.

Yeah i definitely think the game is more fun if you are an archer or mage class. Swordplay needs to be drasticly overhauled for the next game. I think if they added counters and grabs as skill perks, that alone would reallymake combat more appealing.

Dark Souls combat minus the rolling would work excellent for the Elder Scrolls series. Different movesets on a per-weapon basis, and combat that really FEELS like you're hitting someone and actually blocking a hit when it happens. Keep the smoothness of not being locked on, since you're typically in first-person and aiming your attacks at someone, but make it far more precise and bone-jarring when you take a hit. Love the timing aspect of DS combat. Really love everything about the combat, but I think it could translate well into the ES environment.

Next DLC pack might be called "Hearthfire" based on recent trade marks made by Bethesda. Very possible PS3 owners might not get this pack either considering Bethesda hasn't fixed all the "performance issues" from the game which caused the 1st DLC pack to be skipped.

I got this through Gamefly a couple of weeks ago. It dragged at first (a lot of these games lose me because I spend hours on end running through forests), but now that I've gotten into the meat of the game it is quite fun.

I guess. Can't please everyone I suppose. Was hoping for something that would add one last questline, but whatever.
With something this ambitious being announced now and it being out in only a week or so, there's a huge potential for bugs. |

Dunno, I doubt they just started working on it right after Dawngaurd. I would wager it's something they worked on for the original game, but just didn't have time to fit it in for release. That is often the case for DLC of this nature.
I think this looks pretty awesome too. Though I still want a patch that allows you to remarry at least once. The magic just isn't there with Ysolda, like it used to be. |

Guess until the inevitable GotY (Dawnguard and Hearthfire on-disc instead of as a download using a web connection), I'll stick to keeping on with Oblivion. I just picked up a copy recently and have been playing as this imperial woman with mostly magic as major skills, so it's been mad easy to level up (any sort of dispel spell whether you have spells cast on you or not will increase progress towards leveling up mysticism, I'm sure there's examples of this in illusion, alteration, conjuration, restoration and destruction too). Spent the better part of an in-game month in Oblivion just using spells and then sleeping for 1 hour to level up over and over. Am only like 40 hours in Oblivion playtime and already at lvl. 27 and trying to figure out the path to take in the Great Gate in Bruma so I can shut it down and save Cyrodiil from Mehrunes Dagon.

You can also just kill the wife, I've read. BUT, a bug sometimes occurs that prevents marriage again. You could also take her to a high ledge (High Hrothgard might work) and just FUS RO DAH her right off a cliff.
AGAIN, you might not be able to marry again. |

I took the wife (Lydia) out on a few quests, but I guess they were fairly easy so she survived them. I like NOT having her follow, as I know in a day or two I'll have a pretty chunk of gold waiting for me when I drop by the house (usually around 800 gold pieces). I'm want to see what happens if she get's killed though. Someone said you get a note from a courier and some gold (LOL. I wonder if it's their version of a Life Insurance Payout.)

I've killed people who I've done favors for and I got their inheritance through the courier, yeah.
I guess if I ever need gold, I can just kill one of my friends. lol |

Also, is there a realistic setting like in fallout, where you have to eat, drink and sleep to survive?

I don't think there is, tbh. I have to see if there's a difficulty setting, as I've been playing for quite awhile and don't remember. It would probably be easier in Skyrim to play it that way as food and water are more plentiful.
I tried Fallout like that and didn't like it. Maybe if I play through it once, then go back and try playing in Hardcore Mode, I might enjoy it. |

No, I just got the Hearthfire one. It's actually pretty cool. The only thing that's gonna seem tiring is having to find all the materials to build with. Luckily some things are right there in the immediate area to start with, tho.

Oh,and about the 'inheritance' thing. I was playing yesterday and a Frost Dragon attacks RiverWood. Alvor, The Blacksmith and that archer, Faenthal both got killed apparently. I traveled to Whiterun to trade out some equipment and a courier brought me two 'Letters of Inheritance". At first, I thought Lydia and my housecarl in Riften had gotten themselves killed somehow. They were for Alvor and Faenthal, 300 gold and 100 gold respectively. Was totally unexpected.
