exactly. the animated wonder woman film is fantastic. if they could replicate that even a little bit in a live-action setting, they would have a hell of a property on their hands. but they're so caught up in making their live-action world "gritty" and "realistic" that we'd never see it. but so many of their characters are otherworldly and powered in ways that just don't fit inside a "realistic" universe. marvel, meanwhile, have themselves a norse god and just went to town with it. i know a lot of people don't really rate the thor movie, but i actually think, as far as capturing a "comic book" feel without being overly schmucky about it, they did pretty damn well. and then he fit in really well with the rest of the avengers.
aquaman, especially since the launch of the new 52, is rife with potential for a truly kick-ass movie. the flash could be amazing, getting into the speed force and the black racer and even zoom. i dunno, they just seem to be missing the point of everything that could be great about their characters. |

Should have been a Green Lantern/Superman team-up. That Green Lantern film was fantastic.

A Green Lantern/Superman film could have actually worked aces. Superman "exiles" himself into space for killing General Zod, like he did in the comic books. There he encounters Warworld/Mongul and then since it is in space, Green Lantern shows up and they team up to take it on.

Honestly, this gets both the Superman sequel and the obligatory introduction of a new Batman out of the way in one piece rather than two, possibly expanding exposure and maybe even introducing other characters and possibly even promoting a further expanded universe. I don't see it as a problem and I certainly don't see the combination as being done instead of whatever other fanwank people want to see before a JLA movie.
I mean, unless you actually dislike the franchises. Then fuck that shit. |

The Wonder Woman animated film is really good, way better than I thought it would be. Aquaman has been given a big boost in the comics the last few years, he comes across as a legit bad ass, as does Mera. When I was watching Flashpoint the other day (also a thumbs up) I was thinking about how it would be interesting if DC started their Justice League movie like that, in an alternate reality where the heroes were fighting, rather than the traditional, we meet, we bond, we fight team origin. It would be a different take. |

However, since they plan on taking him in "new, exciting directions" or whatever, they probably do need the kind of introduction you're talking about. |

Who will have existed first in the terms of this universe? Batman or Superman?
Probably Superman... |

I mean, you don't think they're gonna do his origin in Superman's sequel? He's gonna appear already established.

I would think, but you don't need an origin story for Batman anymore.

And when the new sets off to the new Bat-movies I'm thinking it'll most likely have the rest of the Gotham Knights. Joker will be the main villain for part 3 instead the first or second. And it will be 20% lighter with more attempts at humor (mostly from Robin or Batgirl). Stephen Amell will cameo at some point.

Not crazy about the Bat logo, not sure why.
It will likely evolve though, like a WM logo tends to, as time goes on. |

You kidding? That's Frank Miller's logo. It was very deliberate.

Really hope that they don't have Batman beating up Superman in the movie. Had enough of that, and it only fuels people who think Superman is stupid and lame.

Only silly people. Batman humbling Superman has been done to death but it's gonna be what the new Batman needs to make a statement going into his own franchise. Since they're going for an older Bruce, we'll be getting an experienced Batman, I suppose.
People who think Superman is stupid and lame will never be sated and I say fuck em. You can't make movies to the whims those kinds of people. Superman Returns; too boring. Man of Steel; too much action/destruction. You just can't get some people. |

They're definitely going to have a moment of batman getting one over on supes, if only to show he's in the same league despite having no powers

That said, there have been stories I've really enjoyed. All Star, Kingdom Come, and Brainiac for example. They're just few and far between for me. |

They can have Batman one-up Superman with his brain or whatever, but I have zero desire to see him physically beat up Superman.

I am referring to the many times in comic books where they have Batman beat up Superman so he can look "badass".

Often using something. He doesn't just waltz up and kick his ass like you're making it sound. I am well aware of the trend of humbling Clark, just spoke about it at length actually, but he's not the pinata to Bruce like that.

In fact, peep the first issue of the 2000's Superman/Batman where Kingdom Come Superman makes a kinda sorta cameo. He has some commentary of that very status quo that should make you feel better.

Well in that case why is it a problem? It's a handicapped Superman. Nothing to be ashamed of.

When I first saw those overlapping logos, I thought they could make a new Justice League movie despite those 2 are at the front row seats of the roster..

I was in the "Superman sucks" camp, the whole unrelatable, boring hero argument then All-Star Superman came along and made me really appreciate him.
