3) Ubisoft announces they are changing their policy in regards to review embargoes after the recent backlash regarding Assassin's Creed Unity. One of the big factors for the new policy was their stock price dropping by almost 13% shortly after the release of Unity.

The fact that review embargoes are even a thing is pretty fucked up. Hopefully the next game won't be a pile of shit.

Unity isn't that bad. I'm enjoying it. And honestly I've seen much much buggier games get review scores that didn't drop til after release. Fallout 3/NV? Skyrim on PS3? Those games got much better ratings than Unity did, as well, and I find that to be more disturbing. Giving games that are so buggy as to be rendered unplayable at times good reviews at a late date..........that reeks of paid reviews imo.

The Unity situation may have been a bit murky in terms of the timing of reviews, but at least the reviews were fair.

It seems like its a common practice. Gives the writers plenty of time to play the game and get the review done ahead of time. It's heavy season right now. They don't have the time to play alot of games near the deadline and rush a review.

If a producer things the game really is shit they will simply not give a copy of the game for review. It is a common practice in the Movie industry. Ebert and Roeper were denied early access to alot of different movies that the producers knew they would just shit on them and give them 2 thumbs down.

1) Some conflicting reports regarding a recent major gaming-related hack with CNet stating a group called DerpTrolling managed to get access to a ton of accounts while Kotaku is stating its very unlikely an actual attack occurred.

Supposedly PSN, Windows Live, and 2K Game Studios' servers were hacked. The issue causing the conflict appears to be with part of CNet's report regarding some of the exposed accounts possibly being fakes or were taken from past attacks.

If anyone was having problems connecting to PSN, Steam, or Destiny the past day, hacking group Lizard Squad took credit for it. Also teased this is going to be almost a daily thing by them as their "Christmas present" for the month.

In a bit of irony, those that were requesting and happy about Xbox Live getting taken down were really pissed when PSN got attacked.
