Why do people take fun movies and make then so seriouz? It's an action flick. I am sure there are more important things you can be researching rather than if Joker had his makeup a certain way in the 4th remake of the comic books that is the same as this movie.

Yes, because the studio stepping in months before release has always yielded good results. A movie doesn't have to be fun and humorous to be good. It just has to be written, acted abs directed well.

We shall see but this sounds like a fairly bad idea.

Apparently they have been doing "massive reshoots" ever since they heard the positive response to the trailer....

Because apparently the trailer didn't really match the "tone" of the movie, and pretty much all the "lighthearted" or "humorous" stuff was literally in the trailer...... so after they heard that people loved the trailer, they started working on trying to make the movie's tone actually match the trailer....

Because apparently the trailer didn't really match the "tone" of the movie, and pretty much all the "lighthearted" or "humorous" stuff was literally in the trailer...... so after they heard that people loved the trailer, they started working on trying to make the movie's tone actually match the trailer....


Makes sense.


When I watched the initial trailers, I always felt that there was a mismatch as far as tone went. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

Hope they don't over do it. I like the darker tone to the DC world but a movie with Joker in it should have a good amount of humor. Just hope they don't try to match Marvels cheekyness.

I just hope it's not butchered. I could care less about tone so long as it's good. If BvS was a good movie the tone wouldn't be an issue.

Its under the same people. I have the same reservations everytime i see something on it. I have the same people telling me I'll be wrong.

Their franchise got a free purchase from me with BvS despite my better judgement simply because they deserved a fair shake. They dont have that anymore.

I wish there was a term for this. Let's call it "The Goodwill Principle." Fans will give much more leeway with a franchise when the overall product has been largely good and devoid of the feeling of a re-hash or obvious money grab.

They came back after Iron Man 2 because everything done previously was good. Audiences were willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

On the other side of the spectrum, take a look at The Hunger Games. When they split the last book (the shortest of the three) into two movies, it was pretty blatant what they were doing. The audience was already invested in the franchise so they were going to see this thing through, the studio thought. Then they released a movie that was very subpar. Did great in its first weekend, but word of mouth caused there to be a big drop week-to-week. Oh, it made some decent coin, but it was nowhere near the amount that was expected. (Sound familiar?) The fourth movie was also "meh" and made even less money. Any plans for prequels/sequels/spinoffs went out the window. Not even worth a try. Their goose was cooked. It didn't even take a focus group to tell them the franchise was dead.

Warners is in serious trouble. Even a really fun Suicide Squad won't be enough. They need to put a string of films out that really strike a chord with audiences that isn't a carbon copy of Marvel. Thats quite alot to ask for.

Feel like I'll still rush out to see Wonder Woman because Gal Gadot looks good and I love "wartime pieces", but I am definitely going to hold off on this one until I hear the reactions.
