Haven't finished it the game yet.

I hear it's got some bugs and there's a chance Rockstar might reset everyone's rank in order to fix things.

Keep in mind, it's in beta stage.

Unless someone finds some sort of rank up exploit or gold glitch, I dont see why they'd need to go nuclear and reset progress.

R* are claiming they are fixing the online economy and balancing issues amongst other things, but still, why would they put the online beta out as it is? A can of beans shouldn't cost more than a fucking gold ring. It also shouldn't take as long as it reportedly does to earn just 1 gold bar.

No. I steadfastly stand behind my point. Rockstar should never have allowed ANY version of the online component, beta or not, to be released in the state it was released in. Ya know, lest it look like they're aspiring to become the next EA Games?

Tangentially related to this: what the fuck happened to the term "beta"? I mean, the last time I remember a public test executed correctly was for the multiplayer component of Halo: Reach that was so far ahead of the finished product, that the beta was actually running under Halo 3's engine. They got feedback well in advance and was able to tweak one particular gameplay type (invasion) multiple times before it was even near its final form in retail.

Ever since then, it seemed like, true to form, other companies (and Bungie themselves) learned "the wrong lesson" on how popular that was on leading to game sales and now everyone is offering "beta" access, which just means either getting to play it a little bit early or just a band-aid on an unfinshed mess that you supposedly have no right to complain about because "it's totally in beta, guys". It isn't to stress test the game under normal, outside world player conditions or see how your servers can hold up, it's a marketing ploy.

I guess it's (mostly) stable, at least? I had to recreate my character for ps3 gta online at least 2 dozen times for it to stick.

For all you buckaroos and outlaws who have not yet to venture online, you are going to miss out on some free stuff money.

In light of the recent hiccups to online since launch, primarily the economy, Rockstar is going to give players $250 and 15 gold bars which should go out today and be settled tomorrow. Only catch is you gotta log-in to online mode by Midnight pacific time to get in on it.

To those who have already bought guns from the catalogue or gunsmiths, prices have been lowered on most guns and the difference should be back into your wallet by December 10th.

Still crawling through the story. Good god, they weren't lying saying it was a long campaign. Add in all the stuff I've been doing on the side, taking longer. After like 10 visits to the hunting ground I finally got the Bull Gator to appear.

Trying to finish the story then put it down. God AC: Odyssey and Darksiders 3 downloaded and ready to be played.

Bull gator appeared right away for me and he was surprisingly easy to put down. Now I'm working through the Master Hunter ranks to kill what is supposed to be the hardest animal in the game. I still need to do the New Austin area legendary animals.

Regarding online...not a fan of the camp system at all.

I'd rather have a saloon room to rent that's static...eventually a prefab cabin.

I started playing the campaign mode. Just now skinned the deer so I'm clearly not very far into it at all.

Played online too. I did the horse mission. Do you start to see people in the open world in between missions or no? Is it because it's in Beta? Just confused as to how that works out

It's PVP in free roam. You can mess with people doing side quests.

Finished of epilogue 2 yesterday and jumped online to give that a try. So far the only annoying thing I'm finding with online is when you try moving camps it doesn't always move it to the one you selected and paid for. I know it's still beta but come on.

The online missions are paying reallllly well right now. I'd suggest everyone do them and pick up a Varmint Rifle and then a Bolt-Action Rifle after you get horse insurance on the special Arabian horse (ps4) before you customize your horse, buy clothing, etc.

Why a Varmit rifle? It's one of the weaker ones in the game as the name suggests. There's even story-mode challenges to kill animals with it because it sucks.

It has a really high fire rate. If you're good at head shots you can take out a whole posse in seconds.

Surprisingly, I logged in anyway when I got home this morning and the money showed up. Neat.

... but the Fortuna expansion for Warframe also dropped on console today, so I was kinda busy there.
