Re-watching last night's promo. Totally missed Bray calling Matt a modern day golden calf followed immediately by Matt mooing. That was pretty good.

The back and forth transitions are fucking shit though. Works way better without them or with just really quick ones that you barely notice.

Yeah it appears so. They took out that plus one of the things Bray said. The transitions make it seamless to edit stuff out later if they want to, but they're still dumb.

Oh and they also edited out one of the laughing fits from each guy (there were three at first....uncomfortably long). Maybe that means even WWE realize it was excessive.

Lmao silly me, the whole promo will be laughing before long.

I thought I was giving the gimmick criticism this whole time. If people think I've been giving specific people shit, then I'm sorry. No, I just think the gimmick is absolute shit. Which is okay by your initial statement?

The reason I don't watch the product regularly is because of shit like this. I still follow and this makes it hard. Is that inappropriate to say? Is that hypocritical? Or is it more hypocritical to say "You can't have an opinion about our opinion?" I'm legitimately confused as to how you guys think opinions work.

I realize that I can come off snarky in tone. That bluntness is part of my "gimmick." I don't see the point in saying "Hey guys, sorry, but, ummm" on a wrestling forum. I'd just get to the point and say "Matt Hardy is shit." Sometimes I will exaggerate and say "Matt Hardy's the fucking worst piece of garbage in wrestling today," which isn't true, and I trust can be discerned by people. But I do think people are confusing this snark with personal attacks. Now that it's not just screech, I will probably take some more time off these boards after today, because I honestly don't feel like talking to people in wishy-washy language (how I get to express myself here is a large part of why I stick around, and not just what I express).

But I'll point to a conversation you and I had about 205 Live, where you said the guys "deserve it," which struck me as a weird thing to say about guys that have, frankly, not worked well at all on the main roster. You ended up coming back around to "just my opinion" and I was like "cool, man." I think it's a bit of a work that this is about opinions. This is because people have a complex with me because they think I act smarter than they do. Look at screech flipping out about me making him feel like an idiot for simply addressing his points time and time again. "Why do you come here?" "Why do you do this?" Answer, answer. "No, I want an answer, you cunt. I am smart too." Blah, blah.

I'm not going to dumb myself down. I'm not going to stop trying to make objective points over just saying "I like this guy! I like to have fun!". Some people come here for that and I do, largely, try to stay out of their way, because I was once like that. I've wizened up and now I crave more substantive conversation. Some (Destor, #1-wwf-fan, Gertner, sometimes Dale, BigCrippyZ before he got bored, sometimes Thrilla) can provide that. Others -- man, it's weird that you think I'm the one with my head up my ass. I'm waiting to learn something and be taught something, but all you want to do is talk about how regal your feelings are.

It's no wonder these boards are flat and not fun anymore. You used to get all sorts and all sorts of people talking about all sorts of things. Now they're dead, and a large part is because conversation breaks down into stupid little wars like this, and a large part of that is because there is only, like, one type of fan still left engaged by the product.

I'm very happy for you all enjoying the downward spiral. It is going to get worse with you cheerleading it though. As I said earlier when the Matt Hardy video got more views than the TNA stuff ever did: "Be careful what you wish for..."

Jeff broke him in a I Quit match after diving off a stairwell onto Matt. Final Deletion had a stipulation that if Matt won he became the sole owner of the Hardy Brand and Jeff had to become Brother Nero and stop his spot monkey addiction.

As batshit crazy as it is, Matt's actually been consistent with the backstory of his character everywhere he's taken it. Including WWE.

His soul is currently in the physical vessel of Matt Hardy but it's been around for hundreds of years in other vessels, hence him having a violin from Stradivari amongst other things.

The thing is - in TNA, ROH, and wherever else it was proven that all of the batshit stuff Matt has said was actually 100% true. His Lake of Reincarnation literally does send people back into their old gimmicks. He wasn't lying about any of it.

It's unlikely WWE will go that deep into it. Maybe he'll do a few paranormal things like Bray but for the most part they've positioned it early on as "Matt's just acting weird and saying nonsense" and it'll feel half-assed.

Agree and I liked the part where he explained that Sister Abigail had taken over Bray's vessel. Hardy made sense of Sister Abigail in one promo better than WWE had done since Wyatt showed up.

I've discussed many things in this thread and why I think it hurts wrestling. I've explained the usefulness of camp, the sincerity of it, and the damage that ironic subversion can do. I've explained what I think the positives of the gimmick could potentially be. Your accusations that I am just insulting people is a blatant lie. But I will defer to everyone else on that. Have I made my thoughts on why I think this gimmick sucks apparent? If the answer is "yes," then kindly stop with that false point, screech.

I do not ignore your points. I simply don't think your logic makes any sense. I respond to them as best you can. I made the offer to number them so I can reply as directly as you seem to need me to, but you didn't do that, so I replied as best I could. Also, to clarify, if what I think is your first point is wrong (which I believe I have demonstrated it is), then your second point has no bearing anyway. I mostly just get my jollies from people getting so worked up over a gimmick. I mean I dig the Broken stuff personally, but I can see why others wouldn't. Just the fact that it's so polarizing is amusing to me.

If I didn't like it, I wouldn't be afraid to say I thought it fucking sucked, but I don't think it'd "take me out" of the programming or whatever. Then again I've personally just always preferred the variety show approach to wrestling. I liked Total Nonstop Deletion as a one-off episode but in general I'd never want the entirety of Raw to be about one thing. But as a character getting one segment a week? Yeah, I'm cool with that.

I've just always liked having something for everybody. And if someone was on I didn't give a shit about, I'd just shrug, do something else and wait for the next segment.
