It sounds harsh, but justice is a hard thing to find even with all the right avenues taken so bypassing the system and taking it to social media first seems to be an easier way for people to have their accusation taken seriously.

It's not a good idea though.

This is precisely why the press and jurors are kept apart legally.

That is a very good point.

It becomes hard to weed out bias even if you've only heard something in passing and think you can separate yourself from that and the idea of "guilt" or even "innocence."

I think it's because he basically admitted it.

The woman made her Twitter private, but she posted screenshots of Gallagher messaging with the person whose house the party was at and Gallagher was talking about wanting to apologize to her and stuff and asked the guy to ask her if she feels OK with Gallagher messaging her (she said no), though Gallagher also said that that he didn't remember it happening

Ah, didn't know that. I mean, it's pretty fucked up what he did, and sorry doesn't make it any better, but it's got to sting that you showing something resembling remorse is what fucks you over. If you had just doubled-down and been a cunt, you'd still be getting paid $500k a year.

Typical WWE. Didn't they JUST TODAY issue a statement that they would not terminate a contract unless the wrestler was convicted? Even only a suspension when arrested/charges filed, but not terminated.

Took them legit 3 hours to go against their own statement smh.

People form allegiances too. Some NXT groupie is not necessarily going to be impartial, especially if he's got relationships with the people who talk to him versus the people who won't.

I'm NOT saying don't that that woman seriously, but if Riddle's side were true, then it's not like everybody is necessarily going to know. Especially if it is just coming out now. If he didn't do it, or things were more cordial than implied now, he's probably handling it the best way by getting a lawyer and doing things professionally.

It's just a shame that the system can fuck over the party with the truth on their side in some cases. If Riddle and Cornette (the two guys who seem to be taking legal action) did the things they've been accused of, then it doesn't necessarily mean they are going to lose (obviously). And it doesn't mean they are going to come out smelling of roses even if they didn't, either.

Most serious one was him allegedly being a drug supplier to the NXT and PC locker room around the same time WWE was having some serious drug issues in developmental.

Eh, I hear ya, but on the other hand, I think they did reserve the right to go harder on people in the same statement? And it's their prerogative as a company, I guess -- especially if there appears to be more substantial evidence to the allegation than the murky waters of he-said/she-said. It could also be a compounded issue of some sort. We don't really know.

But the timing of that was fucking harsh.

Mmm, yeah. I think that's reasonable, and I'm coming around to this line of thinking, but it's still a fucking hazard to go so public with something when you're going to get backlash for it. But if you believe any publicity is good publicity, and don't mind smashing yourself in the nuts with a hammer for attention, or think that anything "going viral" means it's good...

And as time goes on, people's confidence in making whatever claims is going to change, as are how people respond to them.
