They've pulled down Travis Banks' profile as well so he's probably next.

Was it Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty who used to roofie women's drinks then shave their heads?
Also I'm pretty sure the Brisco brothers used to drug other wrestlers and mess with them. I'm sure there's a story about them dosing Gene Anderson or someone. |

Marty was willing to fuck his step daughter or whatever so wouldn't be a shocker.

According to Fightful, WWE is preparing more releases soon to cleanse their roster of problematic talent.
Also hinted Velveteen Dream's days in the company are now numbered since some other stuff about him have recently popped up and are unrelated to his current accusations.

The WWE would obviously love to be as clean as possible from any possible scandal. Their stock and business image is way too connected to their PR and their business relationships. Other promotions like AEW and TNA can afford to be more haphazard with how their implement disciplinary measures, to the extent that they just have to not piss off whatever fans they have too much. Well, in AEW's case they need to look after the TNT relationship.
I'm not surprised that WWE is being careful with this too and not just firing everyone whose name comes up. The last thing they want to do is invite "big bad company" perspectives for firing people who don't deserve it, which could be a hit to their public image on its own, and possibly invite inquisitions into their past as an entity. |

WWE's also been more careful because the sheer scope of the accusations is way too much for them to simply sweep under the rug and them being pre-occupied with the coronavirus outbreak and other PR nightmare happening at their Performance Center.
Right now, WWE's looking at a brand that's potentially beyond saving (NXT UK), a wrestling scene that's in a very dire situation (UK), and notable talent being among those accused instead of just some low level guys. |

The UK stuff, like, it's also largely because I don't give a fuck about NXT UK and always think the internet bubble exaggerates "indy resurgences," but I'd just fucking cut it. If there are talents that are worth a shit that don't have anything against their name, offer them a spot in the US. If they don't want to take it, so be it. Take the hit and move on.

The wrestling renaissance in the UK was real but lasted a couple of years at most and got killed off by WWE and ITV before it could truly blossom or hit the next level. Rev Pro, Progress, and OTT likely don't get the deals they currently have with NJPW and WWE if it wasn't for that renaissance period.
Problem with simply shutting down NXT UK and moving talent to the US is the regular PC is already way too bloated to take on more talent without more call-ups being made which would just lead to the main roster being even more bloated. Plus doubt Triple H wants another big black mark on his NXT global expansion plans considering the biggest supporters of ditching the brand got fired a while ago (WWE's former co-presidents). |

Real to what extent? Nothing was booming. PROGRESS having a few hundred people interested? What does that mean?

If NXT UK got shut down I reckon they’d offer WALTER, Toni Storm, Kay Lee Ray, Tyler Bate, and Gallus spots in the US (though Bate and one of the Gallus names are still being looked into as part of the scandal). Plus Pete Dunne returning to the US which I assume he was already going to do once the pandemic was over.
Some of them would agree to come, but probably not WALTER as he’s long said he has no interest in moving to the US. If that leads to WALTER in New Japan that would rule. |

People say that WALTER was against moving to the US, and I'm sure he said that, but that was quite a while ago. He's been treated well by the company for a fair bit now, and they can offer A LOT of money to change someone's mind.

Not Attitude Era or Hulkamnaia like levels but something that could have been built upon or be a stable foundation for future greater success had WWE and ITV not stepped in when they did. |

I'm not even using Attitude era or Hulkamania as extreme examples. ICW doing a show of 1,000 people or whatever is just not worth getting excited about. Not really. |

Compared to where the scene was before the renaissance happened, it was booming by comparison. In a span of about 2 years (2013-2015), ICW went from holding one of the big events with around 1200 in attendance to getting 4000 based on a quick search.
Even if its not big or really noticeable growth, Australia grew enough in recent times to catch both WWE and NJPW's eyes. |

Do you want to offer another term other than “boom” so that we can move past the semantic argument?

I don’t really want to read through 13 pages. Can someone break down who’s been outed as a nonce and who’s been outed as dickheads?
I know Sammy Guevara is suspended but that’s all I’m aware of. |

I didn’t have to watch Mike Quackenbush’s apology video to know he’s full of shit. All of these overly rehearsed apology videos or paragraphs-long written apologies, nobody has come out looking better in any of them.
You can’t talk your way out of this situation. Just go away. |

Jack Gallagher and Ligero have been released from the WWE, with Velveteen Dream rumored to be next. Joey Ryan, one of the Crists and Michael Elgin from TNA. Dave Lagana from the NWA. One dude got fired from MLW. Mike Quackenbush is putted and Chikara is gone. Sammy Guevara from AEW. None of that necessarily means those people are guilty (except for Guevara who was recorded saying things on tape, although it was a “joke”), but those are the ones that have seen consequences.

Guevara was suspended without pay, not sacked. Jimmy Havoc also suspended and sent to rehab I believe.

I didn't mean sacked, I just meant he got stung with consequences because their respective companies believe there's truth to the buzz. I should have been more clear. Forget about Havoc.
Oh, and Travis Banks from NXT UK and maybe someone else I'm forgetting from there too (maybe it was just him and Ligero though). |

I still stand by my original assessment that Matt Riddle's accusations are bogus. Being an adulterer and a prick to your mistresses is not the same thing as what others were accused of.
Also, Terri Runnells, that was clearly her ex husband's doing, like all the other various ways he harassed her. And that was pre UFC Brock Lesnar, and pre 50 year old Dustin when he was still hopped up on pain pills. If anyone thinks he would have just sat there and done nothing if it wasn't his idea, I have some bridges to sell you. |

Apparently WWE had been in talks with an unmanned top indie talent for a potential deal prior to the recent tidal wave of accusations hitting the wrestling industry.
This unnamed person ended up being among those publicly accused leading to WWE pulling their offer shortly afterwards.
Only reason the name of this person was not revealed was due to Alba getting that information "off the record" from his sources. |

Only other notable indy name to surface was David Starr who started the whole thing. He's only 29 but he's said to have been on WWE's no-fly list for a while due to his outspoken criticism of the continued tapings and his frequent calls to unionize. |
