I hardly see how Punk is the heel between him and the EVPs. I mean he's probably not the face but he's def not the heel.

Well I think the main core of AEW's audience, particularly ones likely to shell out for tickets, are still firmly behind the EVPs since they are "neckbeards" or whatever, so to them Punk would be the heel

I think they'll like whoever cuts the better face promos IMO. If Punk wants to cut face promos, they'll be on his side because he's much better on the mic than all of them.

The funny thing about Punk blaming the EVPs over the Cabana stuff getting out is that SRS was the first guy to break the story about the locker room having the perception that Punk got him demoted....and he's flat out said the EVPs weren't his source for it.

AEW had the whole "big happy family" vibe from the beginning of the company right on through the Daily's Place residency. The fact that the entire company kept Brodie Lee's illness a secret right up into his passing was a hell of a statement. Even friggin' Cornette gave props to the company for that one since wrestlers are notorious for not being able to keep a secret.

But I don't know why parts of the AEW fanbase desperately cling to the idea that that's still the vibe and that everything is sunshine and rainbows. Between getting back on the road, expanding the roster, having a lot more personalities to manage and the fact that most of these guys have egos because, hello, it's wrestling...there were always going to be backstage problems eventually.

I think I'm pretty much done with AEW for awhile. The booking is insane. All the "works" and "shoots". It's just dumb at this point. Punk beating Mox was dumb. If that was the end game they should have just not had the first match.

Been so hyped for MJF to come back and the way they do it is the dumbest shit ever. Stokely and a bunch of jobbers come out and take the chip and hand it to masked man that is clearly MJF just so he can reveal himself later in the same show...but not actually do anything? There is no longer any edge to the angle, no wondering if MJF is legit pissed or not because he's wearing a mask, has a mouth piece he doesn't need, and a bunch of schmucks to tag along.

EVPs win again, shocker, everyone knew that was coming for over a year before these titles were even announced. Such good booking everyone saw it happening before there was any motion at all on the whole angle lol. And now what? Immediately into a hur dur work shoot program with Punk? I have no interest in watching that feud.

Danielson lost clean to Jericho. Does anything else even need to be said about that? I just can't.

Fine Seph. You can take that perspective and you can quit watching AEW, that's fine you don't have to tune in. But you will be missing out on all the action. Kenny and the Bucks are back together and they are now the champs, Adam Cole is injured and Punk bleed more than Mox and is now going to get his long deserved title reign.

It's time for people like you, Danielson, FTR and Cody to realize that the EVP's are the true heart and soul of AEW. The EVP's are The Bucks of Youth and Kenneth Omega. They are the energy source in which this world revolves around.

It's time for people like Seph and Danielson to realize the only reason AEW is in existence is because of Jericho and it's time that Danielson learned his place against Jericho and now stands below him on the rankings and in the annals of pro wrestling history with and 0-2 record.

I actually like MJF and Stoke together. They've worked together before and have a good dynamic. MJF can handle his own promos and doesn't need Stoke to talk for him, but I can definitely buy why MJF the character would hire an agent to deal with shit he doesn't feel like dealing with anymore.

Far less keen on the idea of him having another stable though. He already had one. Doesn't need another one.

Would prefer if Stoke just manages all of his clients separately and maybe this was the one and only time he "rallied the troops" together for a common goal. MJF doesn't need henchmen especially since the crowd will invariably be turning him face.

The problem with worked shoots is usually they’re done by saying “All that other shit is fake wrestling bullshit but THIS is real!”

I don’t mind as long as it’s just building the idea that there’s real backstage tension. If/when these guys meet up, if you believe they actually don’t like each other, of course they’re not gonna convince you that THIS time the match is real but it adds another layer to the drama.

Just don’t go full Russo basically.

MJF does need the henchmen though because long term story telling in AEW has dictated that MJF can not win a match on his own.

And, you know, instead of building him up as a disgruntled employee with something to prove, they just hotshotted him right into the title picture.

I can't take that seriously. MJF has won like....1 match in the last year and a half maybe and it wasn't clean. He is not a credible challenger atm. Well, maybe he is credible considering who the champ is.

completely false. punk has a raw lack of physical awareness that is truly unique, it is in no way hyperbole when a person says the marks could take CM Punk. its not a joke or a dig. he's uniquely ill suited for fighting. he's one of those guys that gets in a domestic and his girlfriend wins. the only people who defend him are people who never saw him, or are marks worked by his stuff that have never fought (formally or otherwise,) and/or cant do even the smallest amount of assessment with their eyes. if you could youd watch even the smallest amount of his footage and cringe at just how shockingly bad it is. Punk went into the UFC with a name he made elsewhere and took the spot of guys far more deserving than him, guys who spent their lives trying to make it to that stage, and was humiliated in a way that had never happened before outside of those celebrity boxing train wrecks all while getting a nice paycheck that should have been going to more deserving people.

To be fair, Adam Page did that to himself. And to the company. Punk pointed out the obvious there. Adam Page is such a fucking idiot that you might as well release him.
