wow,another lead lost.Thanks alot Walker(you dick).
I am so pissed off because Bolton did sweet FA to score again, but at the end of the day when our best player on the pitch is a 37 year old forward who is retiring at the end of the season it doesn't say much and a point from that match is no good for us,especially seeing as Pompey beat Bolton 4-0 at home earlier in the season so these are the games we must win.Wolves have looked a much better team at home but yet again we have lost a lead, even if we'd have won half of the games we were leading in and went onto draw/lose then we'd be about mid-table. rant over. |

Apart from Liverpool, all our other home games are winable.Since the Chelsea game at home to the end of the season Leicester's home games are:
Aston Villa Bolton Wolves Everton Liverpool Fulham Man City Portsmouth I'm not confident of winning any of them now. ![]() I guess rant wasn't over, sorry.

Ok, I looked into the guy attacking Ronaldo, and I still don't see how that justifies the actions of the United players. If a fan is able to attack a player, it is the fault of the security for not dealing with the situation. 1 idiotic fan does not therefore constituate every fan in the ground.

Bolton's Sam Allardyce has explained the way in which he exploited the change in the offside law to claim a share of the points against Leicester City.
Bolton used a system of placing players in obvious offside positions but then running back, taking advantage of Fifa's ruling change. The system caused Leicester all kinds of problems - and the equalising goal came directly from such a set-piece. "We've had a look at the new regulations and we have got to use them to our benefit," said an apologetic Allardyce. "I don't like them and I think they detract from the game, but it is not the referee's fault he has to implement them and I blame Fifa. "They have to change them, but in the mean time we have to use them to our advantage. "It doesn't add anything to the game and it leave players and fans upset and angry. "What we have done today doesn't look good to the fans but it makes it hard for the opposition. I think it shows the rule up to be honest." -------------------------------------------------------------- |

Agreed, I think that the players were wrong, and way out of order, but I still think that the Everton fans made a bigger deal about it because it was United players, they would have been just as pissed if it was Liverpool players. But I think it would be interesting to see their reaction to a team like Portsmouth or Leicester.

Oh, about The Liquidator btw; years ago I used to buy Total Football magazine, and one issue they gave away a CD with a few football songs on, whether they be unofficial anthems or fan-written songs ('Julian Dicks: The Terminator'
) - I *THINK* I have it buried at home somewhere. I'm going back not this weekend but the one after, so I'll have a look and if I find it I'll rip a copy of Liquidator for y'all, cause it was definitely on there.

The fact that Ronaldo was nearly attacked by a fan right before the supposed incident seems to of gone un-noticed I take it.
Complaints could be made each and every week about 'offensive' celebrations or gestures. If we want to become more like the U.S and complain about petty incidents like this, then these Evertonian no-marks are doing a damn good job. Ronaldo was also pelted with plastic bottles - tell me if you wouldn't react to that? If the United players did something wrong, then they should be punished - but from where I'm sitting, it seems another bandwagon has been built for United-haters to jump on and have their dig. |

The whole point here is that the United players have run across and yeld obscenties and used offensive gestures, I would agree that players use provocative celebrations most games, but their is a huge difference between, as in the case previously of David Beckham, and the case we are talking about here. I have said it on a number of occasions, this is extremely unprofessional behaviour, from players who are supposed to be role-models. Footballers have always had to put up with HUGE amounts of stick from any fans, all over the country, and all over the globe. Take this point, Chelsea vs Beskitas, and absolute fu>cking disgrace that the fans could act like that, did Chelsea start syelling at the Beskitas fans? No. It happens all over the place, and players are pelted with bottles and coins all over the place, and they get on with it, why should United be any different? I don't disagree with players celebrating wildly, as long as they are not shouting abuse at fans, and most importantly, not in-front of kids. The United players have done something wrong, if they've hurled abuse at the crowd, then they are breaking F.A rules, they have been unprofessional, have, as I've said a million times, they've broken the biggest thing that clubs set out to do, and that is be role-models for children and people in general. Maybe it is another bandwagon, but I don't think you can deny, that United keep bringing these things upon themselves with the actions of the players, the manager, and the boardroom. |

Ok, so they've viewed the CCTV, and they've decided that there is nothing which can constitute an offence that can be dealt with by the police, this doesn't mean that they haven't been shouting and yelling at the Everton fans does it?
Let me look at this, for a moment from an unbiased perspective, which I admit, is difficult for me to do. United's players have gone across and celebrated in front of the family stand at Goodison Park. They have apparently shouted and sworn AT the fans, while making gestures. The result of this, was 50 fans filing a report to the police. I have read that one of the people who made a statement was a steward. Merseyside Police have found that the evidence they have does nothing to warrant an offence that can bring about action, and so the issue has been passed onto the F.A to look at. These appear to be the facts. Now, the thing that I am arguing is that the Manchester United players did not need to go across towards those fans and celebrate, and spout abusive language. Now, I think that this is more or less a fact, that they did indeed shout and swear at the crowd. 50 people complained, that's 50 out of around..... 3-4000 in the area United where in front of (the area which could have been in ear shot). They are indeed a minority, but they seem to have been offended by something, and they've reported this. My point is, that what the Manchester United players have done, is very unprofessional, and as role-models they should apologise for their actions, I mean, Gary Neville yesterday practically admitted that they celebrated OTT, but that it was ok to do so. The pictures I have seen did not have Ronaldo or Neville in them, Keane was in them, but if I remember correctly, he was the closest person to the crowd, while the rest of the players were in a big bundle. |

I think that Cactus Sid is right.
Because their is no video evidence doesn't mean they didnt do it, and if Neville has admitted they were in the wrong, then like what Sid said, it is unprofessional, and uncalled for. |

I think it's unprofessional because people are stuck in that norm that players shouldn't say anything to fans. Personally, I think that as long as they don't swear, they should be able to say what they like. It's only a laugh and if you can give it then you should be able to take it. If you get arsey about it then leave the ground because you are watching the wrong sport. Try snooker or indoor bowls.
As for Cristiano Ronaldo, nobody has mentioned how he had a full Coke bottle thrown at him and the pictures were as clear as a beautiful summer day. |

Seeing as there is a bit of a debate and things on this situation,it would be interesting to know everyone's views on the Walker/fan incident.I mean surely Walker reacting by physically attacking a fan is worse than the United players shouting some things at Everton fans?
Can't condone either act but as they both happened surely Walker's reaction is worse. |

Actually no. I think any fan who comes on to a pitch should be banned for life. Players could be at danger and Walker did the right then. I still remember when Peter Schmeichel threw some Turk like 20 yards into the 6th row at Old Trafford!
Players should have a legal right to kick arse if fans enter the field. Nobody argues when fans jump barriers at wrestling shows and get battered.

Yeah on Duff's return against Birmingham City 3 1/2 weeks ago, a fan ran on the pitch, and shook Duff's hand, and then slowy jogged away from three stewards, two gave up, and the one that kept chasing him fell over in the centre circle. Funny stuff, the bloke kept running, and ran off the pitch before he was finally caught. That fan could have punched Duff, kinifed him or anything, and the stewards were way too slow and couldn't stop it.
Ground security is rubbish. |

(I thought that sounded good anyway)Chelsea with a deserved win also. Still, I'd rather we didn't have Parker, Crespo, Bridge, Makelele, Geremi, Cech, Joe Cole, Veron, Johnson, Kenyon, Abramovich. Mutu and Duff were the only players we needed. |
