Cardinals cut last year's starting TE Leonard Pope, that's the biggest "surprise" for me thus far.

Patriots also cut Andrew Walter leaving them with undrafted Brian Hoyer as their only back-up QB. Julian Adelman (WR they drafted this year) played QB in college though so who knows? Everyone seems to think they are gonna trade for AJ Feeley but for some reason I don't think they are gonna do that.

Giants are one cut away from finalizing the roster, some odd choices so far. They have 10 OL and the indication is that none of them are going to be cut, just seems like way too many...so I'm guessing the final cut winds up being Derek Hagan. At the same time, they are only carrying 3 safeties. My hope is that they have their eyes on potential waiver guys because I really don't see the point in keeping Guy Whimper or something.

And yeah that really surprises me that the Pats cut Walter. They must like Hoyer since they let him play the entire game on Thursday, but unlike Cassel he doesn't have the benefit of knowing the system or spending a couple of years as a backup if Brady goes down again.

Looking at the Giants' 53, there has to be a move in the works I think.

3 RB, when Ware is a little banged up and Jacobs always gets injured at some point.

7 WR, which I don't mind but still a little surprising.

10 OL, that's a lot for any team, especially one with one of the best lines in the league. No reason to carry a guy like Whimper when we have Beatty supplanting him as the young tackle in the making.

3 S, really not too comfortable with the secondary depth. I'm shocked one of the undrafted free agent safeties didn't get in there.

So we'll see what happens. I trust Tom and Jerry's judgment but right now the numbers just don't make sense to me.

Colts had some intresting cuts. Cut Terrance Taylor who was a 4th round pick and was a DT. I realize we're kinda stacked at that position now, but it was still a bit of a shock. I thought for sure they'd cut Muir. They kept Curtis Painter which was the best move. Going with 3 QB's seems weird cause Manning never gets hurt, but Painter was way too good to be put on the practice squad. I think Painter has a future in the league as a starter.

The biggest suprise that no Colts fan on the boards seem to be talking about is the fact that the Colts are going with only 4 recievers. Thats pretty weird. I woulda thought atleast 5. But nope, its Wayne, Gonzales, Collie ( gunna be a stud ) and Garcon. I think Polian is eyeing another reciever somewhere. Maybe via trade or on waivers. I cant see them just sticking with 4 recievers, but when i think about it, maybe they do. Dallas Clark lines up in the slot alot. They kept 4 TE's, 3 of which are pass catchers, the other being primarily a blocker. If a reciever goes down, they could move Dallas to the slot and bring in Tamme or Santi. But if Dallas goes down, then there's problems.

Pats make a couple of trades. First they acquire TE Michael Matthews from the Giants for a conditional 2011 pick (before he was officially cut). Obviously they saw something in him that they liked.

But just now, much more surprising...they deal Richard Seymour to the Raiders for their 2011 first round pick. Seems hella surprising, especially after the Burgess move a few weeks ago.

Trading for picks that are a few years off always puzzle me, but he's trading with the Raiders, so the Pats will probably get another top 10 pick.

Pope was a stud in college because of his size, but I saw absolutely nothing our of him with the Cardinals.

wow thats a great trade for the Pats. The Raiders will always suck so its guaranteed to be a top 5 pick. And Seymour isnt the Richard Seymour he once was. LOL Raiders.

Yeah seriously, the season starting late this year sucks. I really hope the 18-game season is approved for 2010. Fuck the negatives, getting two more guaranteed Giants games a year would rule. Football.

If Delaware NFL betting wasn't fucking parlays Id go with detroit. I think 13 is based too much on last year for the lions.
