Not making the playoffs to get a higher (not always better) draft pick is a terrible attitude to have in my opinion, not that really matters since that is only your attitude and not that of players. So while everyone on TPWW thinks they play for each team they support, they don't, so their attitudes towards the game really don't matter I suppose. |

But yeah seriously, I'd rather watch extra football. Even if my team was like 3-12 going into Week 17 with a win making them pick like 4-5 spots later than they would be if they lose, I'd still wanna see a win...especially with another game not for another 8/9 months.
Plus the draft really is a crapshoot sometimes...I mean come on, you can grab a Ryan Leaf in the first round and watch nothing come of it or you can lay back and draft the next Tom Brady in the 6th round. Anything is possible. |

Me too..
Yall are missing the point.. When we lost the the Iggles week 16 I said to all my buddies "watch the Skins are gonna beat the Vikes now" and they did.. When you control your own destiny and blow it, you don't deserve to be in the playoffs.. |

Good thing the Patriots tanked the season before getting Brady so they could get him with their higher #1 draft pick

Yeah I agree. 2 different years in the Lewis era (03 and 06) the Bengals entered the final week of the season controlling their own destiny to make the playoffs and lost heartbreaking home games and blew it.

It's like, I'd rather the Saints get blown out by 3 TD's than lose on a last second FG.. |

The past couple years before this year I knew the Giants were 1 and done, just because of the way they got into the playoffs. This year I thought might be a little different, and once they played the Pats the way they did I knew that they had a whole new attitude. I like our chances.

Yeah, the offensive line will be opening up the flood gates for Merriman I am sure
I can't wait for this game, hopefully Ellis Hobbs picks off Phillip Rivers like 3 or 4 times or something crazy In case you are wondering why I wanna see that, after last year's playoff Rivers called Hobbs the "sorriest cover in the NFL" Also another random note, Reggie Nelson, the Jags rookie starting safety said Tom Brady "isn't that all, he just played alright" and the only reason why Brady completed 93% of his passes in last Saturdays game was because it was a dump off game. lol alright |

I know it really doesn't matter, and it is kinda stupid to even bring up but why didn't Jacobs get flagged for throwing the ball at the stupid play clock? Almost as bad as punting the ball into the stands

I'm surprised he didn't, NFL is so retarded with throwing flags on celebrations

No, but is a part of the playing surface. If you do something with the goal post, I am pretty sure that is against the rules...maybe not though
If you use the groud as a prop though, then its a flag (like if you lay down) |

Is it against the rules to spike the ball after a TD??
I know it is a delay of game on the field but is it illegal to spike after a TD?? |

So him spiking it at the playclock shouldn't be against the rules..
I bet Goodell changes the rules because of that though.. |

He threw it at the playclock, which was like 10 yards out of bounds, its different then spiking the ball inside the endzone. Not that I really care, but as Nerf pointed out if he threw the ball like 4 feet higher into the stands it would have been flag

Wait you get penalized for throwing the ball into the crowd? I know it's a fine, but do you get penalized for it to?

I thought you did if you like chucked it up there, I think if you hand it off to somebody its alright.
More importantly, Laurinaitis is staying at Ohio State. http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefoo...story/10576871 Just read through that article, he had 18 tackles in the championship game? Jesus christ. I was hoping he would fall to the Patriots at 7 (was doubtful) but oh well. Patriots are prob gonna trade anyway |
