I'm gonna put my head through a wall, then patch it, then put it through again if the Yankees sign Crawford.

Hmm...so you mean I can cause Inno brain damage?
Man am I glad that Yanks and Phils fans get to experience the pain of seeing your season end with your big star taking a backwards K. I hate them! ...

Headlines section of ESPN.com.
Not really "fired". His contract was up anyway and $man decided not to bring him back. Chatter going around is that it may have something to do with his taking time off during June. |

I can see that, also with all of the hits given up with two strikes against Texas, couldn't do anything to turn Joba and AJ around, etc.

Supposedly Cliff Lee's wife was harassed while at Yankees Stadium and even though it was horrible, Cliff Lee says it won't harm potential deals in the future with the Yankees.

Lee's not gonna say it'll hurt a deal either way. Take the Yankees out of the equation and he's making a lot less money next year. He'll at least keep the Yankees involved even if he has no interest coming here.

if she lost a few pounds, she would look a lot better.
Pretty excited about this World Series. It should be an awesome series. If you're a baseball fan, this has a little bit of eveything in it for you. ESPN was showing the infield/oufield practice tonight and I love how it's the same type of practice we all did in Little League. They were just showing Vlad in right waiting for his turn for the coach to hit the ball to him. love how the game never changes. |

I think at some point during the game tonight we will hear something along the lines of
Cliff Lee reminds me of a pitcher I use to catch for. Steve Carlton "Lefty" of the Philadelphia Phillies. We called him Lefty, because he threw... Left handed. That's why Cliff Lee reminds me of Steve Carlton, because he throws Left handed. |

I hope these supposed Yankee fans really don't stop Cliff Lee from coming here. If we don't get Cliff Lee we could have a problem with AJ Burnett having a bad year and Hughes maybe coming off an excellent year. Hughes is a good pitcher but I can't see him doing as good as he did this year next year. Javy Vazquez being most likely gone and Andy 50/50. That's one reason why I am going for San Francisco if Texas doesn't win there will be more of a chance of Cliff going to where the money is at instead of signing for a discount back with Texas.
I think Cliff wants to come here. He wants to pitch on the same team as Sabathia. And Cliff and CC'S wife I have heard are very, good friends. So I think we have a chance but I am sticking by my guns and saying if by chance we don't sign Lee we will gather together a package and sending a good to modest package to a NL team for a good pitcher. We may have to do that even if we sign Lee. This off season will be fun I think. |

He was Manager of the Yankees...left...and then they made the World Series in 1996 (and won). He was Manager of the Diamondbacks...left...and then they made the World Series in 2001 (and won). He was Manager of the Rangers...left...and they made the World Series this year... ...if the Rangers WIN, then it all can't be a coincidence. Showalter knows his baseball. So all u Orioles fans, don't worry, your team will win as soon as Buck leaves. Enjoy the process of seeing the man go to work and revamp that organization, laying the groundwork for a winning team. |

It'll come down to money, like it does with almost every free agent. I'm sure millions of dollars will make up for a bad experience at Yankee Stadium. And he's been in Texas a couple months now, its not like he's been there his whole career or anything. I can't remember many free agents giving discounts to teams they were with for half a season.
Also, why do you think Hughes can't have a good season next year? Its obvious the workload this year was the reason for him trailing off in the second half. With a year of starting under his belt and not having to deal with innings limits next year I expect him to keep improving. |

I guess I read to many newspapers then . Almost every time I read a Cliff Lee article it keeps saying that Cliff is more likely to accept a discount from Texas if they win the World Series. |

Wins are a terrible way to judge players years though. If wins actually related to how well he pitched this year he would have no where near 18 wins because he struggled a lot in the second half.
I'm sure winning the WS will definitely help in retaining Lee but I can't imagine he'll give a big discount either way. He has no long-term ties with Texas. He's only been there a couple months. I have no idea on what he thinks but most likely he'll do what every other free agent does and go to whichever team offers the most money. The one advantage Texas has over other teams is Texas is close to Lee's home. |
