Yeah, but they have so few reversals. They need more, at least different ones for different groups of moves (Maybe not one for EVERY DDT, but at least for the DDT group, and one for each distinct countering style), shit like that.

Yuke's develops both games. What needs to happen is that Yuke's needs to put some of those moves from RR into SmackDown. (Though, they did put the hairstyles of Aisha, Miss Spencer, Candy Cane, and Dixie in CAW). Note that some SmackDown animations were in that game...

I didn't know you could escape from the door, but I had Taran (CAW) vs Eddie today, and did a turnbuckle move to drop the fucker some. The door swings open and I entered an alternate slider screen (That thing that you use to escape when climbing)
.

WTF? Am I the only one who didn't know about this?

Yeah, the door escape is new.

I hope some of the "handcuffing" is resolved in the next title. I had to use the Codebreaker more in this game than I ever did in a SmackDown title.

I.E.

you can take the Divas out of First Blood and bleeding, but relegating them to the wackass FYF match, Single and Submission matches is lame. Put them back in the Main Events and Hardcore matches. (Trish and Victoria actually did wrestle a few Hardcore matches in actual WWE, there's no excuse for this)

No more PSP-linkup unlockables. I can't say this enough.

No more blurs on CAWs. If there are clothes covering the necessary parts, that should be enough.

CAWs need to bring back the two tone color schemes. The plain "Blue" that you can slide to whichever color is kind of lazy.

More WWE logos.

Don't make it so difficult to hit flying attacks...it's ridiculous, almost not even worth it.

Bring back some, if not all the moves that were cut that didn't have new animations replacing them. (I'm talking about Samoan Driver (aka the real FU), all the Tazz suplexes, the Brock belly to belly, etc)

Scale down on the voiceovers... entrance music and movesets are more important...

Bring back the generic themes... the licensed music was kind of gay

Put in some of the moves from Rumble Roses...(the credible ones, anyway)

The base grapple should allow you to select both Heel and Face moves despite which mode you're using, and use of them should affect momentum accordingly.

Some moves need to overlap across categories...it was kind of difficult to make accurate movesets for certain wrestlers.

...otherwise, the game play and new features were the best I've ever seen in a SmackDown game ever.

Yeah, I have a female CAW I'd like to put in regular "main event" matches. I don't mind them not bleeding (though it is dumb), but this other shit "got to go."

They probably will. Weak attempt to boost the sales of their PSP version (And PSP handhelds). 'Course, they can do this with every fucking PS2 game and I won't regret getting a DS.

A big point. If kids want to make nude CAWS, they will find a way

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, ubt the color scheme setup definitely needs to go. It makes it hard to make certain hair and skin colors.

Let's do one better. FIX. THE. SELLING. TIME. PERIOD.

Though I did just land 3 consecutive RVD Frog Splashes.

And even some of the indies. They used to do this, even if it was just with ECW and a few Japanese wrestlers. I miss my fucking Hangman DDT.

Quote:

I still think they should nix the voiceovers. It limits story mode grossly, and the only thing the commentary has in common with the real thing is making me try and tune it out 99.5% of the time.

Quote:

OR at least do both. Ten licensed songs, a couple dozen generics.

Quote:

I like this as-is, actually.

Quote:

I agree here. Most moves should have multiple paths to them, period. Or they could just kill the "MArtial Arts" slot, or "Submission" slot shit. However, most moves are a combination of factors, and so putting them in multiple categories would make things less a headache.

Quote:

Agreed. Though there were some things in HCTP I liked better, overall this is probably leaps and bounds better.

What I'd like to see is some major changes. The engine is still pretty close to the original. Make it less crappy. And for God's sake, don't make the "remove the turnbuckle cover" button the same as "tag."

Yeah, Divas should participate in any match like the men and all that. You should even be able to take on through story mode.

Playstation is more organized than N64 or XBOX or Gamecube. N64's No Mercy you could take Linda McMahon through a world heavyweight championship story. You could take Triple H through the Womens story and have him wear a bikini. You could turn off pinfall, submission, DQ, and have a never ending match. You could have a hardcore Royal Rumble. How awesome would a hardcore Royal Rumble be with 6 people? THQ should let us fool around with all the rules in a standard match.

And one problem, it bugs the crap out of me in like a tornado tag match where two guys are in the ring and two are on the entrance how you can barely see what's going on. How about they do a split screen where it focuses on whats going on in the ring and whats going on in the entrance? You know how the screen just gets ultra wide?

You should have unlimited letters on your character. For example, I wanted to create the Cluckin Bell guy from GTA: San Andreas. I got the Cluckin Bell on the front and on the back I got up to Taste Th.

And this is annoying as hell. Only have the ref DQ you if you focus on him and attack. I'm tired of accidently hitting him and he DQ's me. Happens too often.

No kidding. I started a new Season mode last night with Carlito, and got disqualified in my first match (with John Cena, as opposed to RVD) because I hit the ref like three times with a back elbow.

What REALLY aggravates me about this game is the sleeperhold system. Not BREAKING the hold (you only hit X ONE TIME, when it's in the blue, if anyone didn't know), but getting someone to submit that way is horrible. I went almost an hour against RVD that same night, and I was hell bound and determined to beat him with that sleeperhold. Nevermind the fact that he's completely bloody, every body part in red, he can still get out of it 19/20 times.

It's best when you aren't just focused on the guy, but you're aimed like right at him with no interference, and should have a totally clean shot. And you hit the ref.

I like the sleeper system IDEA, but the shit don't work. I've gotten them to go to sleep, but it really doesn't work that well. Same with casket matches.

And Pork Soda, thanks for reminding me of Kane in a bikini. He was one of the first people I ran through with (aside from CAWs).

BTW, I got the trophy in GM mode my first try. While it's hard to get a lasting lead on the other show, it's not that hard. However, using your biggest stars in huge matches and losing to the other show is fucking frustrating week after week.

The letters clogging up "layers" is an annoyance...either allow more layers, or something. I can't ever get to making a good football jersey for a CAW because the layers involved get ridiculous.

I have gotten through a few PPV's but GM Mode is really boring becuase you have to have big matches with real popular superstars if you want to beat the other show, and I have done like so many gimmick matches that they are boring. I hate it becuase when a wrestler complains about losing you have to make him win sooner or later and that means playing as him and its so boring playing matches.

The next one will be on PS3 only so it's got to be better.

PS3 won't even see the light of day until possibly holiday season. Think this'd be a launch title?

Edit: Didn't see the earlier posts. Where was this announced?

I don't think PS3 will see SmackDown until 2007 (actual year, not "season" year)... JBI didn't even show up on PS2 until it'd been out for a few months. Business wise, it'd be a little better, because as you saw, Madden 06 on X360 wasn't exactly the mind-blower everyone expected it to be. Looking back, it usually takes THQ a couple tries to get it right...

Yeah, I mean, between No Mercy and the first gen of GCN games, there was a marked improvement.

There should be a separate set of layers for letters/symbols.

I remember getting really pissed of in HCTP (I think), because I was trying to create Spike, but I couldn't even make the Dudley Boyz jersey...THAT BUBBA WAS WEARING IN THE GAME! I just ran out of layers.

Is this actually representative of the PSP's load times for this game?

I'm not sure which is worse. The already bloated load times on the PS2 version, or the fact that they actually found a way to make them worse. That's just fucking unacceptable.

since i've been playing online i have been owning alot more...
my cousin and his friend were basically as good as me, so i played online and went up his house to play a few matches...
they put their tag titles on the line in a ladder match they had 2 maxed out caws i was my maxed out caw,(which i have only 1 of)and i teamed with my animal caw then my other cousin played as bobby lashley and had a random caw as his partner... it was a triple threat tornado tag ladder match...
it ended with me cycloning my other cousin then cycloning my cousin then spearing my cousins friend...
then i got the belts for me and animal

Girlfriend bought it for me on Sunday.

Lessons learned:

1) SVR 2006 is a good game (IMO)
2) Girls don't like being hit with sledgehammers

What's the deal with this Jake Roberts/PSP import thing?

Yeah, you just set the match up as a title match. Then when you go to play the PPV, it'll ask you what title you want defended, who the participants will be, and what type of match you want.

If you have the PSP version of SVR06 you can unlock Jake "The Snake" Roberts and upload it to your PS2.

I heard from friends that it was possible without the PSP too, but i don't know if that is true...because my friends are pretty much retards.

You can get a cheat device like Gameshark or Codebreaker and unlock him that way,
