Results:Farewell, John? By: Greg Adkins November 21, 2010 Related Content
MIAMI – “A little integrity is better than any career.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson For John Cena, that sentiment may prove to be his undoing. Despite the threat of termination, Cena, acting as special guest referee, refused to compromise his integrity in order to keep his job. Instead, he called the WWE Title Match straight down the middle, allowing champion Randy Orton to retain – and possibly ending his own career in the process. For weeks, Wade Barrett, leader of The Nexus, had threatened Cena, reminding the group’s reluctant warrior that if he were to lose to The Viper, Cena would be terminated from WWE. The Legendary star, however, refused to forfeit his principles. In fact, so determined was Cena that he rejected an offer before the bout from R-Truth, who had volunteered to hobble Orton. Once the match got underway, though, the Englishman appeared to hold his own against The Viper, despite the fact that The Nexus was banned from ringside. As frustration and fatigue crept in, however, Barrett’s focused his fury on Cena. When the Englishman shoved the special guest referee, Cena shoved back. Orton recognized the opportunity and quickly leveled the Nexus leader with an RKO. Although Cena appeared hesitant, fully aware of the consequences, he nonetheless remained true to his word, counting to three and raising Orton’s hand in victory. In the wake of his win, the WWE Champion took a rare moment to acknowledge the selfless act of his longtime rival. As one man’s career continues to flourish, the other man’s may well be drawing to a close. And though Cena may no longer be a Superstar, he will always be a champion in the hearts of the WWE Universe. |

wait a minute...how did Cena manage to keep his name? Everybody else gets some shitty randomly generated name, and John Cena is JOHN CENA (true, that name sucks, but hey)

It's nice to know I don't need to watch RAW for the next four months.
1) Tomorrow night is Tribute To Cena night. 2) We get a couple of weeks' worth of videos about how amazing he was while the announcers talk about what a bastard Barrett is for getting him fired. 3) He makes a "surprise" return in January and the GM announces that Cena can get his job back... if he wins the Rumble. 4) Barrett wins the WWE Title. 5) Cena wins the Rumble. 6) Build for Cena/Barrett. 7) Cena goes over. |

I'd have done pretty well in Tipsters.
Called wins for Bryan, Natalya, Kane (if that counts), Nexus, Morrison, Barrett and Team Rey with Big Show & Rey surviving. Alas, I am not playing. Pretty good PPV. With a surprise ending in that there was no twist. Interesting. |

The undercard was pretty damn good, and the main events were "ok" but I think we did what we always do and get too damn hyped about what we want to happen and when that doesn't happen let it ruin the entire night. Good ppv!

RKO'em, what did you find so bad about the PPV? I can understand why some people might not like the show, especially if "technical wrestling" isn't a big deal to somebody since the undercard was more about solid wrestling than anything else.

I like "solid" wrestling, but I just felt like everything was very disappointing. The crowd was awful. Thought the Bryan/DiBiase or Kaval/Ziggler matches were gonna steal the show, but they just seemed off. Really wanted something bigger to happen during the main event and Cena getting "fired" really wasn't it. Just my opinion though.

Kaval's theme is Wade Barrett's from FCW.

Agreed he's probably on Raw tomorrow, first to say goodbye and then so Barrett can come out and offer him his job back or something.
I could also see Barrett coming out to start Raw, saying this was a win-win situation for him. Either he became WWE champion, or he did what the Nexus set out to do and got rid of John Cena. If they wanted to keep Cena off TV for awhile, they could wait until the Royal Rumble or something and have him cost Barrett the Rumble match, setting up something for WrestleMania. Doubt they'd keep Cena off TV for 2 months, though. |

Yea, I'm thinking something will happen too, like Wade Barret saying something like other people are saying here, or the gm or a loophole.

It was a overly long 'send off' if Cena was just going to be on tomorrows Raw. Had they cut right at the end then you could probably say he would be.
I'll be pissed if he is and/or he's the GM. Either way, I think we'll be seeing some Game tonight. Especially if Cena is having some time off. |

Waiting for Royal Rumble sounds possible. Especially with Cena being from Mass and Rumble being in Boston
The more I think about it I dont believe the WWE would keep someone who is arguably the face of the company out for any legnth of time. |

The only issue I would think WWE would run into is that John Cena was a suprise entrance in the Rumble just 2 years ago and 2 of the last 3 Royal Rumble winners were "surprise" entrants late in the match.

And Vince McMahon's belief is that if something worked once, it will always work.
