Jesus, do you people not understand the concept of advancing storylines? The Rock will be on RAW tomorrow and oh, gee, golly, I'm sure something will happen between Miz, Rock and Cena due to Rock costing Cena the title. For fucks sake!

Also, if you even remotely expected HHH to beat Taker at this point, you need to check into taking some special education classes first thing in the morning.

I dunno. Main reason I watched was Rock. Did exactly what I wanted, exactly what I thought, and still I just went, "man." Pretty shitty wrestlemania when you get your best scenario out of it and just shrug it off because of the rest of the show sucking so badly. These wrestlers must go through hell nowadays trying to get over/get anything going, it just seems so ridiculous and sloppy.

Problem with this statement. This was Mania, not some throw away middle of the Spring PPV. Mania was meant to end feuds. To be a culmination of feuds on one night. Mania is not meant to move along storylines, it is suppose to be THE place to end them with the following Raw to start the new feuds.

Really? Since when? Just because YOU see WrestleMania as the place to "end feuds", or perhaps it was used as such before, doesn't mean it IS...

...otherwise, we would never have WrestleMania rematches and same guys wrestling each other at different WrestleManias.

I'm all for respecting the legends, but at the same time, the business is bigger than one person and their "moment". Lawler got the true victory anyway (Austin didn't really even do anything to Cole physically) when Cole tapped out, and finally got his well deserved Wrestlemania match/moment, which I was glad to see, even if it wasn't an "official" victory. I'm betting they're going to continue the Cole vs Lawler storyline and we may see Lawler get an official victory over Cole in the future.

By the way, I probably did cross the line with the name calling earlier and I'm big enough to admit that and apologize for it. I just felt like they gave Lawler a cool WM moment and a true victory and then went on to further the storyline with a reverse decision by the GM.

Yeah, WrestleMania 15 was the place to end Stone Cold's feud with The Rock...so was WrestleMania 17...

...Eeeh...WrestleMania 19, also.

WrestleMania 25 was where HBK's feud with Undertaker was going to END...as was WrestleMania 26.

Chris Jericho's problems with HBK were going to end at WrestleMania 19...except they wrestled another dozen times after that.

No one cares about that anymore, people.

I used to agree with this idea, but I just don't think this applies anymore, at least not all the time. The writing, timeline and structure of feuds doesn't always have to be so rigid, scientific and specific. That would make the product even more boring and predictable IMO.

Dude HBK/Taker feud #1 ended at Mania 25, they stopped feuding then rekindled it closing in on Mania 26.

The Rock had the rematch match after 15 and then turned face and didn't re-feud with Austin until 17 where he then got screwed the next night on Raw and left until summer and feuded mostly with Jericho and Booker T. Rock/Austin didn't feud again until 19 where Rock finally beat Austin and that was Austin's last match.


In all of those the big win happened at Mania, some of them had rematches that sealed the deal but the clear decisive victory in the feud happened at Mania, so bad examples for whatever point you are trying to make

So who's to say some of these feuds won't be "rekindled" and we'll see them either next year or down the road?

Edge vs Alberto Del Rio ****
Best Wrestlemania opener ever aside from Bret/Owen. Great match and I'm glad Edge won, he's lost the title way too many times. Awesome match that got me super in the mood.

Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio *** 1/2
Shocker of the night, Cody Rhodes is a main WWE player now folks.

The Corre vs Big Show/Kane/Kofi/Santino * 1/2
Meh, hate that it was so short but oh well.

Orton vs CM Punk *** 1/2
Really good match, hard hitting and great finish.

Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole *
This match pissed me off because it was WAY TOO LONG! And Cole wrestled way too much, I figured he'd get the upper hand once, but damn it was for so long. Such a boring match that should have been about four minutes long. Plus, no piledriver? WTF, and lame ending with the decision being reversed.

The Undertaker vs Triple H *****
TRIPLE H = BEST WM ENTRANCE EVER
What an incredible match. My part fucking loved this match, it was INSANE, we were hanging on every move. Triple H really pulled it out and The Undertaker seems to be just fine as he pulled out all the stops and then some. He took some big bumps tonight and really got his ass kicked. Fucking amazingly dramatic match, I can't wait to watch it again.

Snooki, Trish, and Morrison vs Lay Cool and Ziggler **
Trish is better than ever and Snooki was cute and fun.

John Cena vs The Miz ** 1/2
Not a great main event, but not offensive. I wish it were shorter and more high impact, faster pace to keep up the interest after such a long and great PPV. The Rock closing was expected and nice, weird to see Cena put on the back burner.


Loved the PPV, big time bummer for Bryan and Sheamus who had time taken away for the awful King/Cole match and the five minutes too long main event.
Miz wasn't ready for the main event but The Rock pulled his weight for him.
Great PPV, and The Rock's opener was amazing.

To be fair, I do agree with you that it would've be cool to see HHH pin Taker after that Tombstone. However, I put that aside and enjoyed and appreciated the match for what it was and it was a damn good match.

I loved what they did with Taker being the messed up legend/veteran who just won't quit and didn't know where he was or whether the match was over or what. Did anyone else notice that when he was on the stretcher he was still moving around a little like he thought he was still in the match?

I enjoyed the PPV. Sure there was some bad booking along the way, but I was still entertained.

TPWW Chat confused me though, they justified The Rock's closing the show because lots of people would have ordered for him, which is true. But then they criticized the booking and results because it didn't suit the IWC. Can't have it both ways....

Why not? Who says? Who made that rule? When did they make it? Is it just because you said so? I don't understand this argument anymore. It's just such a cartoon-ish way of thinking to me. We can agree to disagree, no one's saying you're right or wrong. Just, you know, some of us notice these things. Especially when we're paying 57 dollars.
