I do not understand this argument. No one is forcing you to buy DLC. If you don't, you aren't losing anything. There's no penalty.

I agree no one is forcing me to buy it, but when the people you play with bitch and moan that you don't, its annoying.

Also, it turns a $70 game into a $120 game which is just insane since not even a year later you likely won't ever play it again.

Can someone explain this Kill Confirmed thing a bit? I just watched my cousin play via commentary on a recording but he didnt touch on the Kill Confirmed.

I worry as I snipe alot and hope I don't have to run to the other side of the map to confirm it.

Red dog tags stop the other team from getting points, gold ones give your team points. You still get points for kills, your teams score doesn't increase from the kill, only from picking up gold dog tags.

Your first statement is a valid point. I play with friends every oppurtunity I can. If there truly is that much dlc on the way, then it is doubtful that everyone in your group of friends will have all the same maps. In fact it's unlikely that even two of you will. Unless you coordinate with friends what you are all buying.

The fact that COD is a yearly title doesn't affect the value, considering unlike most series, a new sequel does not mean people will stop playing the previous game. It is still just as easy to find games in MW1 and even World at War, as it is in more recent entries.

Also, I played this at a friend's house, and I agree with roxer. I suppose it's not something you would notice as much if you don't use high ground that often, but it's a big part of my play style, so it's definitely off putting for me.

I still like the game overall, and will likely buy it, but it's no longer a priority for me.

Obviously no one is forcing me to buy it and I'm not going to. What I dislike is being told from the outset that this game is basically planning to release more parts of it over the next year. I would rather buy the entire game at the outset because it is already expensive enough. I don't like the idea that they have held back parts to wring even more money out of people. I also would prefer they work on ironing out any bugs they have shipped the game with, rather than on more ways to get customers to shell out. Match-making had serious diffs in both MW2 and Blops and the DLC added to it, in my opinion.

When it comes to DLC, I agree with this when the game seems to skimp out on content on release and charges for more later. This is not the case here. MW3 has tons of content, and is worth every penny.

Sometimes devs act shady and hold back on content that they could put on disc before release.

Most of the time though, it is budget and time restrictions that keep them from putting things on the disc. They tell you from the outset because the content is mostly completed, but getting it on disc would be unfeasible due to the previously mentioned constraints.

Well that's good to know, I'll probably get it around Christmas like I say. But I guess my problem is that the whole idea of paying out money to have different levels of customer isn't appealing and could impact on the multiplayer experience, which is the sole reason I get these games, and the sounds of having DLC pretty much monthly is worrying.

Also I'd rather developers took their time to make completed games. I understand bugs are inevitable but I'd rather they gave vague deadlines for themselves and got the game out as complete and slick as possible, but that's a tired old debate.

There is a way to turn DLC off when playing, isn't there? So if 2 people have it but one doesn't, everyone can play together?

Sniping is not ideal on Kill Confirmed, but it is possible. Just requires more co-ordination among the team. Obviously you can't pick up the tags, but anyone else on your team who gets them confirms the kill. And you get the points from it as well.

Blitz, The game reverts down the list of DLC until it finds the map pack everyone has in common with the basic one being default. I don't believe you can turn it off, but you can delete and redownload it.

I did that with BlOps mappack that I didn't enjoy.

ECG, you would think a company who puts out a game every other year would want to keep their fan base happy by ensuring the multiplayer is fun, balanced and bug free. MW2 had a lot of bugs and glitches months after release. Call me a whiner but until they prove they can release a good game instead of a rushed buggy mess I am not giving them the benefit of the doubt. I'm just hoping they realize past mistakes.

You do remember that IW was pretty much dead like 2 weeks after MW2 came out right? Little hard to put out bug fixes while you are hiring new people after most of your dev team quit.

I believe IW never really bothered modifying or tweaking their engine besides some patch fixing nor did they ever used the modifications Treyarch did to the engine for World at War and Black Ops.

It didn't mean that Treyarch's version of the engine was that much better but the same problems from MW 1 ended up occurring in MW 2 and MW 3. They also believed it would have been impossible for Treyarch to tweak the engine to make it work on non-HD consoles or even add extra modes like Zombie maps until Treyarch proved them wrong.

I enjoyed the first two Modern Warfare games. That second got ridiculous after a while, too many people exploiting it also. Keep in mind all that time spent playing Modern Warfare 2 was when I was living in a college dorm room and had nobody to talk to ever.

They were both sidekicks on the American Forces side. I didn't notice either of them not because their voicework is bland or unnoticeable, but because they didn't have enough lines in the game.

Except for Sandman who was voiced by William Fitcher. He has plenty of lines but even his voice got by me. Maybe I just don't pay enough attention.

Don't you play madden? Cause that sounds exactly like Madden as well.

Also, I am aware of everything you just said. In fact I'm fairly sure most adults who buy the game are aware. We just don't care.

I find the game fun, so I buy it. It's that simple.

Yeah I mean whatever. If I played it I would probably have just as much fun as I had playing the other two games so I would just stick with those if I still had them. And noh I haven't bought a Madden game since 2008 I think.

Did a couple rounds in multiplayer just now and got the Bakaara map for the first time. Reminded me of Crash back in MW1. EVERYBODY was at that helicopter.

Ahhhh, memories.

Think I enjoyed BO more right off the bat. Dont know why they didnt keep the point system instead of having to level up for perks..basically if it wasn't for kill confirmed I wouldn't be playing this after a few weeks( multiplayer).

IW isn't going to keep anything in that treyarch creates. They are building off the Modern Warfare games, not the treyarch ones.
