Really not a fan of this whole DLC upgrade thing. Basically makes everything you've grinded for to this point absolutely pointless...particularly exotic weapons via Xur upgrade.

raised the max, if you want your old loot to be raised to up par, you gotta give Xur a lot of glimmer, your exotic, then level up the gun all over again.

I guess im just complaining about the fact that they want MORE grinding just because DLC came out, instead of simply giving exotics a bump, or just have us grind a few additional damage marks on the tree. Starting all over is stupid.

I meant more on the XBONE train than the not being L20+ for all three classes. The grinding, I don't mind. Shooting respawning enemies is cathartic, and saving some of the unused junk to pass off on my other characters was a smart move to help them along.

Although, I will say, it does suck to jump in Crucible so late in the game with no help whatsoever (anyone I would fireteam with under a normal circumstance all have Ones, and do not yet... in fact, that's how I started playing- as a friend of mine decided to be nice enough to add my Live profile to his One when he got it, and I played Destiny a bit at launch.), and get totally pissed all over while carrying a largely ineffectual arsenal for PvP and shitty armor while trying to stumble my way around maps I am 100% unfamiliar with... and getting blown away as I repeatedly spawn in right in front of someone or right around the corner from the last guy who just shot me.

Unrelated to all that, I will say there are a couple of odd ticks with my experience:

1) When I started playing, I NEVER got a heavy weapon. Not one drop. Not one loot chest. Not one at the gunsmith. Not one from the Cryptarch. Nothing. Then, I more recently got the demo (before buying it for myself for "Christmas") and pretty much got bombarded with Heavy drops since. More than anything else, really. They usually all suck ass, but it's funny how I didn't start getting those until I STOPPED playing the retail version and hopped in the demo. I still get an inordinate ammount of Heavys, though. And they still usually suck. Meanwhile, I'd love to get a decent scout rifle, and this game seems to know that's what I want, and will give me every other standard gun on the planet, with a prediliction for Pulses.

2) I have no ship on the load screen. That same friend has the Legendary, so, as I'm on his box, I had access to the ship and ghost skin. I'm guessing it doesn't transfer out to anything other than another Legendary version, though, unless I'm just the only person who can't see it, so I'm essentially flying Wonder Woman's invisible plane if I'm playing at home, and I find this chuckleworthy, especially when flanked by a fireteam escorting my assumedly cloaked Klingon Bird of Prey.

3) Hearing Torres and Fillion greet my PC, I was dissappointed the Titan guard wasnt Tudyk. Why my brain went there first, I don't know, but it did.

Armor DEF and weapon ATK rating doesn't factor into regular Crucible. It's only in Iron Banner events that it's the case. Weapon performance ratings do matter (range, impact, etc), as well as your sub-class stats and weapon/armor perks.

I'm usually on Destiny (thought I have much Forging to do in Halo MCC and Halo 5 beta should be live for three weeks). When you wanna clear bounties and Strikes or PvP I can help. Probably won't attempt Raids again til I have my own team.

Speaking of that; couldn't join Alva's invite as I was knee deep in stuff with another bud. We'll shoot the shit soon enough.

I've been spending my mornings after I leave work playing for a bit (longer than I really should) instead of getting home and going the fuck to sleep, so, I'm generally on about 8 am trying to unexploitively farm weapon parts and glimmer (takes the fun out of things if it becomes a rote, robotic chore of precise "go here, shoot this, get killed, repeat"). Finally got that rare Scout to drop. Headshots, ahoy!

I kinda see ATK/DEF not factoring, as I seemed to be doing BETTER with weaker armor I was just building in to unlock the perks to use on my patrol grinds and forgot to switch up in PvP. I also had to develop a second weapon strategy for multiplayer consisting of hand cannons and shotguns, two of my least favorite campaign items. Hell, today I ended up with a semi-respectable K/D in Control today and I was just going for the completion bounty.


Speaking of hand cannons, do the perks continually stack, or is there a cap on the number of times it works? What I mean is, for example, I have a piece of armor that ups the reload of a hand cannon, and then I have a pistol that does exactly the same thing when empty. The result is a pop gun that reloads quicker than Russel Crowe in The Quick and the Dead. If I still had another arm armor (I sold one I had for parts, since I didn't use a hand cannon) would that essentially make me have a perpetual barrel, or is 2x a perk- one weapon and one armor- all that works? If I have multiple things that enhance grenade throw distance, will I be able to wing that bitch across the map?

More generally about the system itself, is there a headset that will work decently for both the 360 and the One? I am not a fan of the stock stuff, mostly because of a combination of my hair, the length of the boom between my ear and face, and the fact that I don't generally talk loud. Stock headsets catch in my dreads and snap (had this problem since the original XBOX) unless I put on a bandanna or something, and it's hard for people to hear me unles I have the mic RIGHT in front of my mouth, which then means the earpiece is sitting on my cheekbone. But if I'm going to spend $100+ on a headset, that motherfucker better be multiplatform in at least the same family of consoles, if not also PS compatable (if I ever get that PS3 fixed, or eventually get a 4).

I may be getting a One sooner than later (unexpected financial Christmas present), but I'll still be getting a lot of mileage out of the 360, if for no other reason, lack of library (Destiny upgrade plus whatever freebies they dish out monthly for the One that might be worth the effort. Only got one, since again, I'm on someone elses One, and most of the stuff I would have got, he already did, so I don't get credit for the download.)

Perks don't stack. I experimented with two items that had faster melee and it didn't lead to super fast melee sadly.

Maybe you should wear the mic upside down?

1) Oh well, don't feel so bad about recycling that armor now. And the double reload speed of that hand cannon in question is only a good thing in that it's a decent, fast, and fully upgraded weapon for another character, as the damage is significantly lower than anything else I'm carrying at the moment. Its only a 4 shot, but the rapid reload made up for it. Now that I'm chasing Legendaries with my warlock though...

2) I don't see how wearing the mic "upside down" would would be a benefit. Yes, maybe in the hair-catch department, but this doesn't change the length of distance between my ear hole and my talk hole and the volume at which I am heard. I figure a better mic would help fix that, and be comfy to boot.

And you can purchase stuff on the Xbox store on a browser and the purchase license will remain on your profile. I did that with Destiny and CoD way before we got a One.

I am kinda glad I did not get this. I get it that the team that did this probably has a gabillion hours sunk into the grind machine, but still. Less than 2 hours old and your most recent AND challenging content is beaten.

For the model they have for this game, they are doing it wrong


Maybe in another year or two it will be worth it.

You realize the team that beat it are practically the best Raid team in the world? You sound like a group of randoms got together and smashed it in 30mins.

And don't expect those of us who play this game to believe you didn't get it because the Raid isn't hard enough. Ask Alva or myself how 'easy' the Raids are.

Best raid team or not, less than 2 hours out and finished in under 30 is sad for content that is supposed to last for 90+ days, that is the BIG picture and what I was discussing. The content being billed as the most difficult content to date just makes it even more sad.

I also mentioned that said team probably had a lot of hours into it - I assumed nothing of what you said.

Bungie said they'd kick some extra goods to the first team to Crota on hard mode. I wanna know what they got.

Chatter going around is that hard mode ain't really that hard. I think they Chalice of Light got ditched at the end which makes it a little tricky.

As for The Raids in general, ya keep doing them over and over again until you get "The Weapon(s)". Drinks are on the first person in my fireteam who scores a Vex Mythoclast. But in Crota's case, you get the Crux of Crota. Final piece to evolve the Eidolon Ally into the Mythoclast.

Next patch arriving before the end of February will drop the ability to do solo runs for Weekly Heroic Strikes mode. Nightfall and Raids modes can still be done solo but Bungie is planning on making mandatory teams a requirements in the future for Raids.

Small warning for those with the PS4 version to not Share Play the game with strangers. Apparently at least one person is going around trying to delete other players' characters in the game using this feature.

Could just be one douchebag doing this or possibly the start of something more widespread but worth a warning.

Hit that back in December after I heard "Beneath the Ruins of the Cosmodrome..." for the 50th time.

The game has a lot of content for an FPS, but for a game that requires serious grinding, there's nowhere near enough.

Gonna start putting more time in my Titan since my Warlock is getting close to his zenith. Have all the exotics I want and my perms for PvE and PvP are basically perfect for me. Just waiting for new content now and capping off the armor and weapons I have.

The Strikes and Raids tend to boil down to Halo's old Firefight mode with traveling between set-pieces. This seems like Bungie is being more honest with its roots. Interesting to actually see the Prison of Elders, too.
