I do not want to see Triple H versus Daniel Bryan in the slightest. Like not even a little bit.

Stop it. Seriously. Any other 2003-esque cliches you wanna throw out there? I mean, why in the hell would a heel authority figure be an overbearing annoying prick all the time on TV?

Great. Too bad the WWE Universe will be red hot tomorrow for RAW while you and the TLP crew shed gallons of crocodile tears waiting for another awe-inspiring Dixie Carter heel promo.

Why in the hell not? Triple H is the ultimate squash the little guy/internet guy. It's a great dynamic and would be a hell of a match.

I just want to point out a few things:

1. After spending the better part of 10 years having Cena and Orton as two of the top guys, the top 2 titles are held by... Cena and Orton.

2. Two things are likely at this point: Nirvana will get into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame first Ballot and the bad PPV numbers, if they end up being bad, will be blamed on Bryan.

3. Bob Backlund wouldn't have been fazed by Hunter's Shenanigans.

Crowd reactions are important, but you can't take them as if they match the opinions of the rest of the national/international wrestling audience. Sid Vicious got cheered against Shawn Michaels once, TNA fans think Jeff Jarrett is an icon, and some WWE crowds love R-Truth more than life itself.

10 years ago, the belts were held by Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar is still a huge draw and Goldberg's name is chanted weekly. Main eventers and top guys are such because they have staying power. Cena has no equal in the WWE currently (and it isn't WWE's fault) and Orton, despite claims to the contrary, has always been over as fuck and is talented. The problems with Orton (and why he didn't hold the title for years after his first title win) was because of his own laziness and stupidity.

Like it or not, Cena is on that short list of guys who have almost no peers in the business. We got spoiled in the late 90s and early 2000s and just assume WWE can create a mainstream megastar at a whim. It is asinine to believe that. Daniel Bryan is talented and over as fuck. Daniel Bryan will never be a Hogan/Austin/Rock/Cena. They are building him up over a long time and he will be on the level of a Piper/Dusty/Nash/Michaels/HHH/Angle. I love Angle, but he was never on the same level as a Rock/Austin/Hogan despite being better than all of them combined at every aspect of pro wrestling.

As such, I love this storyline because WWE has created (Daniel Bryan, Rhodes) and reinvigorated (Big Show, Orton) superstars with this storyline. You all want this to end with Daniel Bryan being the biggest thing of all time. That isn't going to happen. You are missing the forest for the trees, not enjoying the scenery of the road trip for the radio station being listened too. This is the best in-depth storyline WWE has done in ages. You are not enjoying it because you are finding every little thing to nitpick about instead of just enjoying it for what it is. This isn't some revolution in pro wrestling, it is just another storyline but it is a great one that is helping bring new stars to the forefront and old ones a breath of fresh air.

I don't think it was a heel turn either, and while it adds a small level of depth (being that HBK was literally JUST introduced into this storyline), it's not enough for me to personally keep optimism in terms of a shift of how Bryan has looked. I get the underdog thing, just doesn't seem all that interesting anymore. Truthfully, I didn't expect the payoff to come at HIAC, but still.

The thing with long term angles is that there has to be sufficient give and take. So far the Corporation has pretty much dominated in every area that matters. When Bryan wins, it isn't for the belt so it essentially doesn't really have an impact. One party can't just dominate everything. It makes it stale and boring. And when they have gotten comeuppance, it has been at the hands of Big Show and not Bryan. They are not making you care about the chase really at all. The goldust/Rhodes storyline has been done so well because they are actual good guys that you care about that axtually got their comeuppance for being dicked around for so long and it felt so good to see it happen because you were invested. Im not invested in Bryan/Orton right now. It's just really exhausting to watch and keep track of and I know I have to sit through more Triple H promos. It's just so taxing.

Agree mainly because #1-wwf-fan is correct about the supporting players have been better booked than Orton and Bryan who should be the real stars of this feud.

Looking back, Orton should have just kept the belt since the cash in and Bryan chasing till tonight or tonight being the 2nd screwjob moment since Summerslam instead of the 4th time.

Daniel Bryan is the marquee name in the storyline, once he gets his final comeuppance - the storyline is over. The side players are there to give us the realization that it can be done. Of course, Triple H is going to put far more effort into keeping the WWE Title on who he wants it on rather than the tag titles.

The Bryan vs. Orton build to Hell in the Cell was a lose/lose for the WWE. If Bryan won, Bryan "defied the odds" and it wouldn't be a shock. If Orton won, HHH gets more X-Pac heat no matter how he got the victory.

You make it sound like WWE has you strapped to a gurney watching this stuff. If it was truly that painful of an experience, you wouldn't watch and discuss it regularly. You and the podcast guys thrive on this Chicken Little mentality toward wrestling. If things don't go exactly how you think it should, it is utter shit and a horrible and painful television experience than is almost as painful as genital mutilation via electric eel-piranha hybrid creature.

HHH getting xpac heat is good. He was one of the most beloved faces of the last years when he was a face.

No. It isn't. Austin and Rock traded the title several times. Many feuds have the title traded several times. It keeps interest. This is just too much for too long. I'm not even interested anymore and I love Daniel Bryan. They've just done a poor job with it. Just really disappointed is all. Though it was going to be a great angle.

I'm just saying, if y'all hate the WWE product as much as you all claim to. Then you should not cover it in the podcast. "The WWE product is horrible and we no longer watch it as a result. We will now cover the hottest brand in all of sports entertainment - TNA Wrestling with its top heel Dixie Carter."

If it isn't for the title, it doesn't matter. It just doesn't. And it is very exhausting to watch. I mean, there wasn't a world champion for over a month.

There's only one person on the podcast who exaggerates to that extend, and it isn't Narc.

You would have bitched if they just put the strap back on Orton. You only would have been happy if they kept the belt on Bryan and blew their wad early in the storyline. Again, "I'll give it a chance until it doesn't go the way I think it should and then I'll act like watching RAW is equitable to getting raped by a traffic cone made of barbed wire."

Probably Afterlife. He is like me in that he is very passionate in his arguments. Unlike me however, he has no discernible taste for quality professional wrestling.

Who claims to hate WWE? Afterlife has come the closest but even he doesn't hate WWE. He thinks TNA is better, but he likes WWE. I fucking love WWE but I'm going to say when they fuck up. And they majorly fucked up a potentially incredible angle and now nobody really cares. You saw the Michaels crowd reaction. It's just stale. That's all. It can be recovered, but they definitely did not do this angle justice.

Involving Triple H and Stephanie was just a pretty bad idea in the first place, IMO. They had such a good thing with Bryan and Orton and this didn't need to happen. Authority figure angles are really stale and if it were up to me, Id abolish them forever in every capacity. Austin/McMcmahon will never be recreated. Never. Not ever. Never. Professional wrestling existed before the authority role existed. They use it as a crutch for everything. Frustrating.

Regardless, the only part of Narc's actual words that exaggerate thigns is the part about the Authority pretty much dominating everything. The Authority has indeed been shown up in the tag division. The part about Big Show/Bryan is true, and the part about exhaustion is clearly opinion, but it's not being stated as fact, as you claimed.

Authority figure angles are really stale and if it were up to me, Id abolish them forever in every capacity. Austin/McMcmahon will never be recreated. Never. Not ever. Never. Professional wrestling existed before the authority role existed. They use it as a crutch for everything. Frustrating.
Which is why Dixie and AJ ripping off Vince/Punk from a couple of years ago is innovate and riveting television?

Seriously, Triple H should open every promo with "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!" and then all these screwjob finishes would be ok.

I love how confrontational everybody gets after a PPV.
