A Triple Threat would suck. Make it one on one. I don't know who though.... either Orton or Batista.

Ideally it should be HHH/Batista like WWKD and LC said since it would draw the most, but the triple threat isn't so bad either. It's all three Evo members facing off so there is a lot of emotion in the match. Flair is caught between HHH/Batista. Both Orton and Batista have been pushed as title contenders (Batista is the legit contender though). And at this point, leaving either Orton or Batista out of a match vs. HHH at Mania would really hurt one of them.

For those who want a recap but not go through the whole thread

Revolution results

Tag champs Regal/Eugene beat Christian and Tomko

Notes:Eugene suffered a dislocated knee(legit) but was able to roll up Tomko

Women's Champ Lita lost to Trish(new champ)

Notes:Same thing that happened to Eugene happened to Lita(knee injury) this was early on though which caused a quick unexpected finish.A trish chick kick for the three

IC Champ Shelton Benjamin defeated Maven twice

Notes:Benjamin beat him in 15 seconds the first match(roll up) then Maven demanded a rematch and got beat with the T-bone finisher in 15 seconds

Muhammed Hussan defeated Lawler

Notes:Horrible Match with Hussan winning with Kanyon's flatliner finisher

Kane beat Gene Snitsky

Notes:Kane wins by Tombstone

HHH wins the world title over Randy Orton,Batista,Chris Jericho,Chris Benoit and Edge.

Notes:Edge speared HBK(sprecial ref) by accident but then started slapping HBk after he had speared Orton but was unable to count it.Hbk hit Edge with sweet chin music and then Jericho hit a lionsault Edge gone,Batista spine bustered Benoit then he did it to Jericho who landed on top of Benoit,Batista pins Benoit.Benoit gone.Jericho gets Batista bombed.Jericho gone,RKO on Batista(HHH can break it up but decides to slump in the corner instead.Batista gone.Flair comes in after they open the doors to get Batista out,Orton RKO's HHH,HBK punches Flair but while he does this Batista lays Orton out with a huge clothsline,Flair and Batista leave and HHH hits the pedigree on an unconscious Orton.Orton gone

Batista puts HHH on his shoulders and Evolution celebrate. No swerve. The end

Well.. what a freakin' surprise. Triple H is the champ. God, what I wouldn't give to have Captain Charisma world champion instead. Oh, well.. wrestling has failed in giving the fans what they want.

WrestleMania better make up for this crap given to us for the past few months, though I will admit JBL is sounding like a better champion than HHH. Remember, you aren't great for being a 11 time champ, it only means that you've lost it that many.

AND Red Hot Scott: They needed to give the belt to HHH tonight because they need a babyface to win the Title at Mania. That's been the formula countless times. They had to give it to HHH to at least let him have the belt for a couple of months before he jobs it again. Even though he should of never had it taken away from him in the first place.

But it's not a requirement.

Hogan was World Champ going into WM2, 3, and 6 (although, granted, he was defending against a face).

Bret Hart went into WM9 with the belt. 12, too (again, though, against a face).

Diesel at WM11.

I can't remember if Rock or Austin was face at 17.

Granted, Hogan and Hart were...special. But that's six out of twenty WrestleManias headlined by a face defending the World Title.

Would it be so terrible to defy convention just once...well...a seventh time? A Batista or Orton or Edge or Jericho or Benoit title win would give fans who watched tonight's PPV a reason to watch RAW in the coming weeks to see just how the hell the mighty Triple H managed to get beat.

Plus, it would add intrigue to the Royal Rumble. At this point, it's clearly going to be either Orton or Batista winning it. You put the belt on one of them tonight, stack the deck against Triple H (he wins the Rumble, natch), and you've got a fresh WrestleMania main event.

As it is, I have no reason to watch any RAW programming (other than the Rumble) until WrestleMania, because I know what's going to happen. At least I can still watch TNA and SmackDown and have a modicum of curiosity.

Yeah, I shouldn't have made it seem like they only can go that way. But with the way the WWE's been booking, it's the only way I saw them go. I would love to see the belt on a Jericho, Benoit or even Edge, but it's just not happening. They have no faith in the first two guys for some reason, even though HHH clearly isn't brininging in the business

I absolutely agree. I just wanted to clarify. Over the last decade or so, Vince is convinced that face-chasing-heel is the only way to go, so it was clearly going to go that way.

I wouldn't mind an Edge title reign. At this point, he's the only RAW main eventer (with the possible exception of Batista) who isn't un-believeable as World Champion due to burial. Maybe Orton down the line, once they've done a bit of damage control.

I disagree with a few things here. I agree that Triple H is probably the best bet as World Heavyweight Champion heading into WrestleMania, but it's not like they have no more events on the road there. You could have easily put the title on Jericho, then have Triple H win the title at the Royal Rumble (the second biggest PPV of the year in some people's minds). It would have done better as far as buys go, and it wouldn't have turned away anyone. Sure Jericho would be the shortest reigning World Heavyweight Champion of all time, but just seeing him win the Elimination Chamber would have made the event worth buying.

If the DVD sales for NYR are low, it will be no wonder why. One good match with a sad and predictable ending. Even my nine year old relative goes "That was a bad ending." when the match was over, and he loves Triple H.

I also don't think Edge would make a great World Champion right now. He's over, but they've made him seem like that heel that claims he deserves to be there, but hasn't proved it yet. Let him go over someone like HBK cleanly, then he'll make a great World Champion.

Seriously, the only other things on this PPV that got me excited where Val Venis, Rob Conway & Sylvain Grenier showing some kind of personality, Rosey swimming in the pool with his superhero's outfit on (LOL!) and last, but not least, my favourite line from the PPV "Tomko, kick his ass!". Christian is great, and it looked like the tag team match with Tomko, Regal, Eugene and himself was going to be something good. Of course then there was Maven's promo, which was great (but not many people share my sentiments), but the matches just deflected everything Maven had going for him. I actually found it quite funny when JR was getting us ready for Hassan/Lawler and you could see Maven walking to the back, like 5 minutes after the Exploder. I was almost expecting him to wave to the camera he became such a joke.

And what's this? They put Maven in the main event of Survivor Series, then they can't have him wrestle at leats 5 minutes with Shelton Benjamin, who is extremely gifted in the ring?

There were so many things wrong with this PPV, and while the EC was a great match, it seemed so lacking in drawing my interest in future editions of RAW. I am almost tempted to think they're trying to turn some of their fans to SmackDown!, but nah, when has the WWE ever done anything for SmackDown!?

This is a feeling I've never felt towards the WWE before. I have been supportive of nearly all their programming. This is the first-time I've ever felt like their puppet, though. I'm going to watch RAW, and I'm going to watch SmackDown!, and I'm going to order the Royal Rumble, and now it seems so damn painfully obvious that that is all the WWE cares about. It seems they've lost their passion for their own product.

All I can say is I hope TNA keeps on going strong, because God knows the WWE needs competition to make them care how they build their shows.

Damn, I only got 2 of my predictions right. I was WAY off on the EC, but damn.

Anyway, Tonight my fears came true of what my concern was about have a PPV a couple of weeks before the Royal Rumble. Luckily, none of the Chamber match participants got injured, but they still have some injuries to deal with which might change the game plan a little bit. (I know Eugene or Lita aren't winning the Rumble, but you get the point)

JR said HHH was a 10 time champ? Knowing JR he fucks things up, but which is it? 10 or 11?

My god, the Hassan/Lawler match was like in slow-motion or something. Dear god it was bad. I blame Lawler, but he's also done even better than that in the recent past. Don't know what was up.

Davari was hilarious at ringside. Yelling, jumping around. "Shut up JR you slobbering fat piece of crap!"

Lousy PPV, the EC match I thought was good up until it came down to the final three. I didn't want any of them to win it, although I wasn't surprised it would be them.

Odd that both Eugene and Lita blew out their knees. Wonder if Eugene being out for a while will be the end of the gimmick and what's the deal with the tag titles?

Sick Tombstone on Snitsky by Kane. Best part of that match.

Oh, and Shelton/Maven was a surprise. Maven was good on the mic I thought, but WTF at it being so short TWICE? Maybe they didn't want to risk either of them getting injured after the previous two matches? Dunno.

Blah PPV, I took a chance knowing it prolly wouldn't be that good but I really wanted to see the EC so I can't really complain.

Still getting the Rumble.

Awful show. The elimination chamber was good but the rest of the card was just pure crap. I'm not even angry about HHH winning the title again. Loose Cannon pretty much explained why. Can't really blame HHH either, blame the WWE for not having any other established heels.

All they had to do to save something from the PPV:

when Batista had HHH on his shoulders and they show the replay of him getting pinned...just drop HHH after that and walk off

But wait enough of me booking things which make sense

This was only the 4th WWE Pay Per View I have ever missed. I'm contemplating only ordering the big 4 from now on. It was pretty obvious that Triple H would win anyway...

The ONLY reason for the whole "Whose the world champ" storyline was because Orton could never get another shot at the title as long as Triple H was champion. Triple H technically lost the title, new title reign, now he can have a shot at WrestleMania. It was actually a pretty decent idea IMO.

I can understand why, but I think it did he some good going first. He had Orton down, was on a roll, then HBK cost him the match. Edge will go over HBK at WrestleMania CLEANLY, then we'll see Edge probably get the title at either Backlash or Summerslam. Damn is the WWE predictable or what?

Wolverine does not have that much rep yet (10+)
I know I dun hardly post here but I got 2 things to say quickly

1. Anyone else notice Randy's blading he did before HHH threw him into the EC.

2. Batista will turn tomorrow night, he's going to see the footage of HHH not helping him out of the pin by Randy and say what ya doin, and well...there we have Batista's turn...

I believe so. I don't mean this in an offensive way to Nick Dinsmore or anything, but I hope they strip William Regal & Eugene of the World Tag Team Championship.

I can see Eric Bischoff telling Regal he has a choice, defend the Tag Titles in handicapped matches, and keep Eugene as an official World Tag Team Champion, or have him pick a new tag team partner. Then we either see Chris Benoit or Val Venis as Regal's new partner.

Let's just accept the fact that by the time HHH is done, he will have more title reigns than Ric Flair.

He has only seven more to go to beat it.
