Yeah the hitter's choked for 4 games, the pitching had nothing to do with it. Those complete games are irrelevant.

yeah i mean, this (3 straight CG) is only something that has never happened in 30 plus years.

outside of the starters, we have only had one other pitcher appear in this series. i'm thinking that we will see the bullpen tonight, but you never know... jose has a CG under his belt this year.

I think it's more of the fact that ARod opens his mouth a whole lot more than Vlad. The whole "I played like a dog" thing really hurt him more because of the money he makes and the fact, just like you said, that people hold him up so high.

Not only is it Vlad's knees but he also has a bad shoulder (which is scary because of the gun he has) and a bad wrist. If you read up on his various injuries, most writers will suspect that he only has about 2 or 3 productive years left in his career. Which really is a shame because I don't think he is, right now, as good as he really could be.

Bases loaded no outs no runs is a choke. Duque was excellent, yes, but there's no excuse for not being able to hit a weak grounder and get the run home.

All I'm saying is that with the bases loaded, no one out, at home, in an inning which Manny has already homered, your season on the line, Varitek/Graffanino/Damon due up, a run has to be scored. Anything except a pop up and a strikeout will do it. They popped up twice and stuck out once. No excuses.

The mystery tag was probably the worst call I've ever seen in my life. I remember the Boston Hearld had a huge picture of it on the backpage. You could see the ump making an out call while the ball was a good foot away from Nomar's back.

Almost another ridiculous call made, but it was reversed. Escobar picks up the ball and tags Pierzynski with his glove which does not have the ball in it.
