Yeah, I don't understand VEL just saying that the reason RP is pissed is because of the Colts losing to the Chargers. It's not like he is the only one who has beef with the Pats right now, and is just saying this because of misery. Everyone hates the Pats and shares RP's and my thoughts basically.

See, that's the point... your pissed because the Rams lost in the superbowl to the Pats.

The reality is, the Pats taping the defensive signals probably had little effect on the game vs the Rams, you would have to assume that the Pats figured out the signals (keep in mind most teams have 2 or 3 people who send them in to keep people guessing) and that the Rams used the same signals in the superbowl that they used in week #10, and then assume the Patriots figured out which person was giving the legit signals, got the info to Charlie which allowed him to call a play that would work against that defense before the clock expired. even if that was all true, it still doesn't explain why the "greatest show on turf" couldn't score enough points to win.

No, I'm not calling Spector a liar and you knew that, Stima explained it perfectly.

Of course a lot of people don't like the Patriots, a lot didn't like the yankees when they kept winning, etc... etc... when 1 team wins there are fans of every other team who wanted to win and when a team stays succesful people get tired of their team not winning.

But whatever makes you guys feel better about your losses.

personally, I just tip my hat to the Giants (same way I did the Colts last year) and say good job. I don't need to find reasons to make the losses feel better.

The Patriots broke a rule week #1, they were punished, it had no effect on the season. It wasn't a rule in 2001 so no rule was broken.

"We are confident that the commissioner has taken appropriate action in his investigation of this matter, and will do so again if new information arises which requires further investigation and/or discipline," Rooney said.

VEL you act like this is a personal attack. I simply stated that the Commissioner told a Senator that they illegally taped teams since Bellechik was the coach. Now i dont know what was a rule or when it was rule, but if the commish is telling a Senator that, then something more happend. And i highly dispute your claim that a Senator is lying because he's a dissapointed fan of another team. Thats rediculous. Obviously either the Commish worded things wrong, or there was alot more cheating then there is being let on. You can take your shots at me all you want, but it is what it is.

When it was reported a few years ago the Polian made a comment about wanting Fluties leg broken in a game, and there were multiple reports "it's not true, boston media made it up", and when it was reported that Polian grabbed a Jets staff member by the shirt and put him against the wall over speaker placement "didn't happen, your just making stuff up"

But now, even though you were not there, you are 100% certain that Goodall told Spectar that the Patriots illegal video taped since 2000? That's just silly. You know it wasn't a rule, the fact that you wont even acknowledge Stimas scenario that Goodall said it's been going on since 2000 and Specter assumed it was illegal the whole time shows how biased you are.

Of course this is because Spectar is an Eagles fan, that's why it all started he's said so already "I started thinking about it the week before the Patriots played the Eagles this season and wondered if it might have effected the out come of the super bowl they played in"

But hey, no one ever wins a discussion with you because you change the rules to fit your needs or you just go away... so do either one, I really don't care, the FACT is there was no rule before the 2007 season, so hence there could be no rule broken.

How was it illegal if there wasn't a rule though? I didn't think there was, otherwise they would have punished for all the tapes and not just the Jets ones?

yeah, it is really funny how personal RP and Sammy are taking this...

but again, it still comes down to this, there was no rule until 2007, so hence no rule was broken before that.

I love how RP says we can't assume that Spector is wrong in his statement but he can assume he's 100% correct even though he wasn't there for the meeting and in the past has ignored anything that came 2nd hand.

As for the "rumor of other tapings" there's one, and it's a former employee who claims that they taped the Rams walkthrough in 2002, he wanted money from ESPN to give the details, ESPN said no, he claimed he needed legal protection? Why would he need protection if he's telling the truth? Goodall offered him the legal protection and he said it wasn't enough.

Until we have some details and this guy starts talking there is nothing.

So, by the way, anyone know if the Giants won a big game recently?

Had the Colts beat SD and won in NE you wouldn't care as much as you do, but this is a team that continualy had the Colts number, if not for the Patriots the Colts might have 3 super bowl rings by now.

but the facts stand there was no rule before 2007 so no rule was broken.

The only person to claim they taped the rams walk through has yet to give ANYONE any details because he's afraid of legal backlash. He had been offered the protection and still hasn't given any info (I still ask if you're telling the truth what protection do you need? Like Clemens nanny the other day "I don't need a lawyer i'm telling the truth"

When you have the video tape then talk to me, until then the only rules violation was week #1 2007 and they were punished for that.

you're not the commissioner. Just because you say no rules were broken dont mean shit. Goodell said the Patriots were " illegally " taping since 2000. HE SAID THAT. Why do I have to be reminded of this season again. The only highlight I have of this season was The Patriots losing to the Giants and The Dolphins winning there only game on my birthday.
