Being a great, creepy bad guy character who doesn't make you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan when he talks does actually give him some crossover appeal though. In that someone who generally finds wrestling to be a joke can see him as a good TV character. |

With what we saw from Orton and Batista last night, does anyone think it was really the plan to have them headline WM? That whole segment was one of the biggest train wrecks I've ever witnessed.

Anyone else find it odd that both DDP Yoga housemates are going into the Hall of Fame at the same time?
I think we need to get Scooby Doo and Mystery Inc. to look into this. Surely there's some conspiracy about. |

When I saw Cena washing his face during RAW, even before the sheep mask popped out I was thinking "did WWE learn nothing from the Warrior/Hogan WCW buildup" that's all I could think of. And then the god damned mask popped out. And I laughed.

I'm digging the Cena/Wyatt family stuff. I actually laughed during the Cody vs. Fandango match. That's pretty much it.
The Brock/Taker segment was lacking. I'm not totally into the buildup for this match. At least not like last year's Punk/Taker match. |

Cena-Bray feud stuff has been really interesting so far.
Heyman's "OMG" scream once Taker showed upThe 4-way IC contenders match and the Shield vs Real Americans match were great. |

I know this isn't a "serious post" but on the subject, they tried to get Jake in last year and Triple H went to bat for him but WWE apparently wanted him to have been clean for a period of time first and asked them to hold fire until this year. He's surely the reason for Scott as well given their "history"

I don't think the WWE wants to find out that a Legend sold his/her ring for crack and booze in the next few months.

You'd have to be pretty cynical I think not to love the product. Even the Scooby doo thing, a few years ago that would have been main-event stuff, and the writers made sure to make it as small a part of the show as possible.

I actually don't HATE it right now. Atleast the storylines they ARE putting thought into have SOME substance. I like the Bryan-HHH story despite my thoughts on Bryan as a WrestleMania main eventer and I love Cena and Wyatt. It's better than it was for most of the past year right now as usually happens during WrestleMania season. And it's better than a little before that when they couldn't fill a PPV more than halfway with matches with some build to them and had to throw on random matches from the previous week's Smackdown. But this "You have to LOVE the product or you're just being cynical" is pretty insane.

I enjoyed these last few shows from start to finish minus the divas. A lot of guys who I thought would never evolve have, guys like Swagger and Cody are doing great things in the ring, Cena's putting on strong matches and not-too generic promos, and for the first time ever Batista and Orton are entertaining me in the ring. I've always liked Bryan, personally, but his recent stuff is great and the feud between him and Triple H has been all but perfect (and the stips on their Mania match captures the imagination). Add to that the facts that I missed most of the Shield's work up to now and am super-impressed with the stable, the fact that Bray Wyatt is amazing, tag team wrestling actually matters right now, Triple H's promos aren't grating on my nerves or testing my patience, Paul Heyman's delivering great promos and Brock Lesnar is the first guy in a while that legitimately calls into question the default win for Undertaker...I really can't ask for much more. Hell, during the 90s I don't recall many (or any) episodes of RAW or Smackdown where the vast majority of matches were good or everybody had at least a competent storyline to work with. |

I can see having tuned out during the past couple years and tuning in now and liking it right now. Like I said, I think the product as a whole is better than it was the past couple years (despite WrestleMania itself being as huge dropoff as a card from the past couple WrestleManias).
I'm interested to see if your interest holds up after WrestleMania and once you get used to the characters again and need them all to keep being involved in intriguing storylines. And during the Late 90's the entire card from the top to bottom seemingly had guys involved in some kind of storyline. The show was an hour shorter and it seemed like everyone had something going on. The matches may not have been as good technically but I'm not someone who really cares about meaningless matches just because they were good technically. There's gotta be some kind of purpose to make me care about the match in the first place even if it's as simple as getting two guys who have nothing to do with each other over. |

If they want to make WrestleMania feel special again they simply can just remove the Elimination Chamber PPV.
Give more than 6 weeks of TV time between the last PPV and the biggest of the year WrestleMania. |

The one way that will make me care is if my predictions come through, aka, Bryan wins against all odds, then the beatings continue with constant title defenses, CM Punk returns at Mania and becomes super-heel (you know how I want it to happen), and they continue to actually do stuff with people. I'd like to see Bryan feud with Batista right after winning, beat him one-on-one at a PPV, push him against Orton the same way for a second PPV, then see him screwed out of the title by Lesnar (only if he and Heyman show up on every Raw.) I do think Bryan is best chasing the damn title, but a strong (but short) reign would be nice so as not to repeat the exact same storyline we're seeing now. And yes, it has to culminate in a feud with super-heel CM Punk. He is the Rock to Bryan's Foley. I wouldn't mind that, hell, 8-10 weeks of amazing RAWs versus 6. Good stuff. |
