How does this sound? The WWE brings up Kousin Krazy from OVW (because he sort of looks like Eugene) as "Eustace" and has him fill in temporarily as William Regal's tag team partner. Just for kicks and giggles.

Or you could have William Regal use a "hometown hero" as his tag team partner, and use that as a way to explore indy talent, while getting them some recognition since they're defending Eugene's side of the World Tag Team Championship. Maybe Regal can even let them get the pinfall after he cleans house.

Or there's that young English guy in OVW that they could give a tryout. Not Paul Burchill (I think that's his name), but another young rookie.
That wolud work man! Dinsmore shows up as Eugene then when Regal and "Eustace" turn their back's Dinsmore attacks them.

I was really getting behind Maven as a heel at NYR. He was getting SO much heat. What exactly did he do again to draw it? I'm pretty sure he just showed up. But someone (I think it was LC) said that Maven was reminding them as an old school Rocky Maivia or something. I have to agree. The heat Maven was getting was uncanny.

And then they had to go and ruin it by jobbing him out not once, but TWICE. Why? I have no clue, because Shelton Benjamin wasn't getting much of a reaction, so it wasn't exactly for pops.

They could have at least had the first match take place, then have Maven cheat to win the second one after a match where these two guys actually do something worthwhile.

I still can't get over that heat. I think it was the most of the night if I'm not mistaken (the fans might have been pretty pissed after the main event).

man alive.... that sounded like the worst PPV. And the year is just getting started? That is not a good sign for the WWE right now. IF Royal Rumble doesn't deliver then WWE can be in real trouble cause that would mean many folks may not care to watch No Way Out or WrestleMania 21

With the exception of the EC and the IC match (only because there was no actual match), every other match was booked poorly and looked terrible. There was some potential with this card, but they blew it

Diesel at WM11.

I can't remember if Rock or Austin was face at 17.

Granted, Hogan and Hart were...special. But that's six out of twenty WrestleManias headlined by a face defending the World Title.

Would it be so terrible to defy convention just once...well...a seventh time? A Batista or Orton or Edge or Jericho or Benoit title win would give fans who watched tonight's PPV a reason to watch RAW in the coming weeks to see just how the hell the mighty Triple H managed to get beat.

Plus, it would add intrigue to the Royal Rumble. At this point, it's clearly going to be either Orton or Batista winning it. You put the belt on one of them tonight, stack the deck against Triple H (he wins the Rumble, natch), and you've got a fresh WrestleMania main event.

As it is, I have no reason to watch any RAW programming (other than the Rumble) until WrestleMania, because I know what's going to happen. At least I can still watch TNA and SmackDown and have a modicum of curiosity.
Yeah, I shouldn't have made it seem like they only can go that way. But with the way the WWE's been booking, it's the only way I saw them go. I would love to see the belt on a Jericho, Benoit or even Edge, but it's just not happening. They have no faith in the first two guys for some reason, even though HHH clearly isn't brininging in the business

but I thought a SD! guy would win it this year. I mean sure Benoit was SD! when he won but the #1 main event of WM XX was a Raw championship. So why have another Raw main event for WrestleMania and not a SD! one... unless they get a new champ cause I don't htink JBL would market so well in that sort of main event.

I absolutely agree. I just wanted to clarify. Over the last decade or so, Vince is convinced that face-chasing-heel is the only way to go, so it was clearly going to go that way.

I wouldn't mind an Edge title reign. At this point, he's the only RAW main eventer (with the possible exception of Batista) who isn't un-believeable as World Champion due to burial. Maybe Orton down the line, once they've done a bit of damage control.

Well, I got a chance to see the PPV, and like many others I couldn't believe how bad it was. Started off with the exact injury happening to 2 people, we saw Hassan's debut look flat (he starts off the match with the same move), Kane gave a monster looking tombstone to Snitsky, then of course HHH wins the title. Like others on this board, I'm mainly upset that after all they went through in the last month, it goes right back to the person who had it to begin with.

I don't even know when this is ending. As much as I hate to say it, HHH will probably retain at WM. The guy who dominates more than anyone is gonna lose the main event 2 years in a row? Sorry but I just don't see that happening.

I love how they built up Benoit in 2004 only to attempt to bury him/push him aside.

If Edge won the title and only had it for a week or so, maybe HBK costing him the title on RAW, wouldn't that push him over the edge (no pun intended)

I can't believe i stayed up for this rubbish.Even randy orton beating batista and hhh woudl've made it worth watching. Or even Batista winning. It was a joke how they teased y2j winning it though, i mean like how they kept saying it was 3 years since he had been champion, and he lasted so long gave me abit of hope until Batista came in. Where the fuck are they going with that batista-hhh storyline now?

Maybe what i would do is have Batista finally get sick of HHH and turn against him. Have HHH turn face(not sure how but considering the standing ovation he got last night it shouldn't be to hard)and defend the title against Edge at the Rumble. Batista then costs HHH the title and Edge is the champ. Then you can have them face each other at wrestlemania. Or possibly like ive said before, make it a four way match between Batista/HHH/Edge and Orton and have Orton win.

This is the only thing that would interest me as there main event right now, they have to come up with something different instead of orton/hhh, cos if thats the main event then i refuse to order it.(we have to pay for wrestlemania in the UK this year)

Ha, my sister asked how the PPV was and I told her about the two injuries. Heres her reaction to Eugene's

"A dropkick...isn't that like an easy move?"

It sucks for Eugene. I saw on the replay that he landed on his knee at an angle, so the dislocation could have happened easily.

I disagree with a few things here. I agree that Triple H is probably the best bet as World Heavyweight Champion heading into WrestleMania, but it's not like they have no more events on the road there. You could have easily put the title on Jericho, then have Triple H win the title at the Royal Rumble (the second biggest PPV of the year in some people's minds). It would have done better as far as buys go, and it wouldn't have turned away anyone. Sure Jericho would be the shortest reigning World Heavyweight Champion of all time, but just seeing him win the Elimination Chamber would have made the event worth buying.

If the DVD sales for NYR are low, it will be no wonder why. One good match with a sad and predictable ending. Even my nine year old relative goes "That was a bad ending." when the match was over, and he loves Triple H.

I also don't think Edge would make a great World Champion right now. He's over, but they've made him seem like that heel that claims he deserves to be there, but hasn't proved it yet. Let him go over someone like HBK cleanly, then he'll make a great World Champion.

Seriously, the only other things on this PPV that got me excited where Val Venis, Rob Conway & Sylvain Grenier showing some kind of personality, Rosey swimming in the pool with his superhero's outfit on (LOL!) and last, but not least, my favourite line from the PPV "Tomko, kick his ass!". Christian is great, and it looked like the tag team match with Tomko, Regal, Eugene and himself was going to be something good. Of course then there was Maven's promo, which was great (but not many people share my sentiments), but the matches just deflected everything Maven had going for him. I actually found it quite funny when JR was getting us ready for Hassan/Lawler and you could see Maven walking to the back, like 5 minutes after the Exploder. I was almost expecting him to wave to the camera he became such a joke.

And what's this? They put Maven in the main event of Survivor Series, then they can't have him wrestle at leats 5 minutes with Shelton Benjamin, who is extremely gifted in the ring?

There were so many things wrong with this PPV, and while the EC was a great match, it seemed so lacking in drawing my interest in future editions of RAW. I am almost tempted to think they're trying to turn some of their fans to SmackDown!, but nah, when has the WWE ever done anything for SmackDown!?

This is a feeling I've never felt towards the WWE before. I have been supportive of nearly all their programming. This is the first-time I've ever felt like their puppet, though. I'm going to watch RAW, and I'm going to watch SmackDown!, and I'm going to order the Royal Rumble, and now it seems so damn painfully obvious that that is all the WWE cares about. It seems they've lost their passion for their own product.

All I can say is I hope TNA keeps on going strong, because God knows the WWE needs competition to make them care how they build their shows.

So, I wake up and I'm pissed that I forgot to order/record the PPV, thought I did.

then I read the results and thank god.

2 injuries.

a pointless King match.

Coach on the Mic.

A pointless IC match.

Snitskeys buildup killed.

A horrible screw job ending, the only thing the main event did was setip a hbk v. edge match? WTF.

Can't blame the WWE for injuries, but even w/o those 2 matches couldn't have saved this crap.
