Went to a Lakewood Blueclaw (Phillies farm) game a few years ago when CH was pitching, and some guy kept yelling "That's why you'll never make it in the big times" to Cole Hamels.

Also went to a game where Gavin Floyd piched a no-hitter but the Claws still lost.

I probably had a Ryan Howard home run ball too

lol Gavin Floyd. He was supposed to be the next big thing for the Phillies didn't work out though.

Also this getting older sucks. Cole Hamels is only couple months older then me, and he is pitching in the majors, and will eventually make millions of dollars.

I still can't get over how Ortiz was an average, injury plagued DH on the Twins and now he is one of the best hitters in the game. I'm glad it worked out for him though. As good as he is now, I don't think he ever would have done that with the Twins.

Ortiz said in an interview in Sports Illustrated that he couldn't adjust to Minnesota's hitting coaching, which was hit and run style in 2001. Not sure if that is still how they hit, but I imagine it's a little more diverse with Morneau in the lineup.

Wow, heartbreaker today. The Mets bullpen which had been so great yielded 6 runs. I put most of the blame on Scott Schoeneweis. Two straight games now where he walked the lefty he was brought in to face. It definately seems that Pedro Feliciano is the better lefty specialist in the Mets bullpen.

i was at work and i checked on my phone. it was the top 7 6-3 Mets and i thought alright another win...then on the way home i asked my dad, "The Mets won right?" that's when i found out they lost 9-6 and i just knew that heilman had something to do with it.

I don't think the two hit batters from Dice-K were intentional but the Yankees need to pitch inside sometimes. They never retaliate at all and need to start backing people off the plate. Guaranteed if Manny was knocked down with an inside pitch those 4 home runs in a row wouldn't have happened. They just need to make them move their feet a little.

Obviously not a good weekend for Yankees fans. Not too worried though. We hit Boston's three aces around a bit which was nice. And even though we sent guys like Karstens and Wright out there we only got outscored 21-17. Probably the only good thing to think about for this series.

Yeah, the good thing is we didn't get smoked. I thought for sure the Yankees would get smoked. Except for Friday the games were pretty lopsided in Boston's favor. The good thing is that Next week we have another opportunity against Boston at Yankee Stadium. And if I'm not mistaken on Sunday Wang is against Tavarez. Now I like our chances facing Tavarez with someone like Wang. As long as our relievers/ MO don't blow it like they've done about 3 or 4 times this season I think we'll be fine.

Its kind of crazy seeing people on ESPN saying this sweep of the Yankees could be the turning point for the AL EAST. We threw two minor league pitchers out there. Oh yeah, it is also about the third week of the season.
