If there was ever a reason for Vince and Linda McMahon to realize that turning their back on what made them rich and look outside of the family for personal validation was the wrong thing to do, this is it. Well, that is if they really care about their wrestlers the way that they say that they do.
When Linda loses the election, well if she loses the election, if Danielson hasn't moved on, they owe him a big contract for being a political fall guy in a situation he didn't even think he was in.
That's all. I am just pretty ticked about how this all went down and needed to vent.
by friday night nothing, NXT on tuesday night was missing the footage of the choke. it doesnt flow consistantly with the reports that everyone was pleased, if it was edited.

It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of reasoning. You're free to hate Danielson if you choose, but if you're reasoning is because he hasn't been successful in WWE, that's stupid. You can be a great wrestler without being WWE Champion. Nobody balks when people say Keiji Mutoh is one of the best ever. Why? Because he was a great wrestler who had success away from WWE.


And besides, you know as well as I do that most Danielson haters have barely seen him wrestle. They just hate the hype. That's not the Danielson mark's fault. At least Danielson marks have some evidence to go on. That sounds much more like a thinking man to me than what you're talking about.

OK guys and gals, so someone just asked something on another site what I decided to also ask here.

If the firing is legit, and I think it is (although I think he'll be back), do you think it goes deeper than protocol? Specifically, do you think maybe Justin Roberts was no in on the NXT "invasion" angle and either a) made a formal complaint about his involvement to WWE H.R. or b) threatened the WWE with a major lawsuit?

Maybe that seems far-fetched, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

An update on Daniel Bryan's firing: it was due to pressure from an outside source following Monday night's angle. The choking with the tie and spitting in John Cena's face were the two main sticking points, and Vince McMahon is said to have had no choice. It is almost a guarantee that this is not a work, since that would mean WWE had lied to everyone with any power in WWE. They have all been told that Daniel Bryan is gone for real.

It seems very clear that Bryan is being used as a scapegoat. It also appears to me that someone from the outside (not WWE management) was the one who threw a fit and WWE had no choice but to fire him for now.

To recap, here are the key bullet points:

# The Justin Roberts spot was deemed too violent and it led to the firing, in a call made by Vince, but forced upon him by an "outside force who is important"

# Complaints came in very quickly.

# The decision was explained to the merchandise and marketing people, PR team, company doctor before it was announced that it was a legit firing.

# The person who complained was someone from the "outside, important to the company"

# Danielson is being called a "scapegoat"

# No timetable has been given, but he was said to be left with the impression that he would be welcomed back at a later time once things pass over.

# Danielson is now looking for indy dates.

# Danielson has a 90 day no-compete clause.

# With respect to the possibility of Vince working his own employees, he's definitely capable of it, and a much more "insane" situation is currently going on with a much bigger name than Danielson in WWE right now.

# Sources in WWE believe they will lose him to TNA, Once source said they just "made a TNA main eventer"

Professional wrestling is like the mafia, no one ever goes against the family.

Lets just say Danielson was a loose cannon and did all this stuff without anyone knowing (which I don't believe is true) why would Justin Roberts do anything to make WWE look bad? That's put him at odds against the men that pay his pay checks.

I think Justin Roberts is the one to blame, why would he tell Danielson to pull on his tie knowing it's around his neck? I think Roberts was out to sabotage Bryan's career and he succeeded, so to Roberts I hope he's happy, he got what he wanted.

Haven't there been numerous reports the past couple years about Vince trying to find ways to keep the Internet reporters from getting information, spoiling things, etc? And how he gets pissed off when things are leaked?

I seem to remember a few fake news stories coming out a couple years back, I can only assume somebody in management started them to see if they would leak. I also remember hearing things about Edge being hidden to prevent leaks of his Rumble return, people being banned from backstage, etc.

So, I do believe that Vince could make a crazy story like this, knowing full well it would spread. The problem is, again, I just can't see Vince seeing that much in Danielson to go this far with it. I love the guy, but in the grand scheme of things in WWE, Danielson is just not that important. A "fake release" storyline complete with telling the entire company that he's fired is something they'd only seem to do with a guy like Randy Orton or some shit (could have done this last year when he punted Vince in the head if he wanted to)

I'm like 95% sure Danielson is really fired...I'm merely trying to come up with justifications for the other 5% because I'm a masochist who wishes AmDrag wasn't fired

Honestly, I know fans "threaten" to stop watching all the time based on creative decisions, but I really don't.
I think I'd lose a ton of respect and interest for WWE if this turned out to be as legitimate as people are beginning to think, though. It's not even for creative reasons either. It would just be the most ridiculous thing ever for a lot of reasons, including the very principle of it.

Talents get 3 strikes to use illegal drugs before being released, and this leads to countless deaths that haunt the business in a way no other industry compares to.

Yet a guy can be made a scapegoat for performing a harmless and previously common stunt? Especially considering that it is in no way more violent than hundreds of things they've made cornerstones of their product over the years.
Zero tolerance? No fine, no suspension? Just a flat out firing. Being made a scapegoat is ridiculous. It would be particularly bad if it turns out he was instructed to do any of these things


Dunno, still hoping this is a work and all of that text is purely based on the hypothetical scenario of it being true.
We shall see.

It still beats me how you can beat people with objects and chairs (which when u think of it is more to hand than a tie consider most people sit on them when watching TV) and then through people through lights or tables and yet still this gets a guy sacked.

You can guarantee if this was a guy at the top like Edge / Orton / fuck, even Sheamus, this would not be a future endeavour.

Both of his Tweets have been pretty ominous.

My guess is that, even if this ISN'T a work, they asked him to be kinda shady about the whole thing because they want to bring him back sooner rather than later and turn this into a proper angle.

Of course, if it were a work I figure they'd want him saying he was fired and moving it along that way. We'll see. Probably real though.

It's not that the WWE workplace has ever been fair either. I don't feel as though I'm owed anything, or that anyone other than me should even care I feel this way.
It just pisses me off on principle, and more specifically guts my interest in the product (just as quickly as the angle boosted it).
I'm sure I will cycle back into watching at some point, especially if they rectify this situation by hiring him back.
It's just pretty ridiculous though.

I was pretty certain this was a work, too.

Vince might have had his hand "pushed" and had to release him (that seems the main thing all news guys are putting out) then when it all blows over, they can bring him back in September in whatever way they please. Basically Vince had to do this and BD knows it and understands where Vince came from etc.

Not sure why Vince had to do this though. Because of the campaign? Is one spot from Raw really going to be brought up in a serious political campaign?

A fine or suspension surely would have accomplished the same thing, by indicating disciplinary action and effectively covering their asses in case it ever was brought up.
One small action does not make or break the WWE's current image for Linda's campaign. If it's going to factor in, it already would have. It was on live television and we all saw it. It's not exactly headline news outside of wrestling that some guy used a tie choking spot. Is her opponent running slander ads with an image of Justin Roberts being choked out?

It's politics. Opponents will try and skew anything to negatively affect the opposition. They could probably construe that image of Danielson choking Roberts as 'Linda McMahon finds vicious choking as acceptable entertainment for a PG audience including our children' or some balls. If there's a chance that one person will be offended by something, they're probably going to try and overcompensate for it. Which they appear to have done.

The thing about the Linda thing, and I DO believe that was a factor, is that the release was NOT listed on the Corporate site. If it did have something to do with that, they would have announced it there ASAP.

For the record, they normally only put them up on Corporate when they're released in relation to wellness. But this is something that should have made it up there.

Maybe they didn't. As I said, choking happens in just about every single run in involving a group, Danielson's probably done it a thousand times and could quite easily have done it without thinking. And even if they did, it doesn't change anything. Apparently they were happy with the angle, it was somebody/thing outside of WWE that reacted negatively to it. Although they probably should giving how sensitive things appear to be at the moment, I doubt they are going to plan every step of a mass run in on live TV against some kind of Linda campaign checklist.

I'd guess Cena would have the sense and is a good enough professional to realize that blood is out atm, that the angle could be important and would have made an attempt to cover it with his positioning, telling guys to back off, his knowledge of where the cameras are etc. And the production truck would obviously avoid showing him as well.
