I am going to buy the first map pack if any of the maps are relatively big.

None of these maps is my favorite. Like in BlOps I would be happy when Firing Range came up, in MW2, it was Wasteland and Estate but none in this do I really like or look forward to.

Hopefully they put some old maps in or make some good new ones.

Some news regarding the Elite subscription for CoD with both pieces being bad news.

As of now Activision has restricted access to Elite for all non-founding members so that the current "founders" members can actually access the service. They also are still having a lot of glitches and problems with the service itself but everyone who signs up will still have the free 30 days "founders" membership extension once the limited phase is over.

The other bad news is Elite might never be done for the PC or at least for this year's CoD game due to Activision having a lot of problems getting the stats to track and the PC being an "insecure platform" in terms of mods and hacking possible.

Feel like Activision said "screw a system, just have them spawn behind someone who just got a kill"

And yes, quick scoping is annoying. Some nutfuck tried a 360 when the score was tied 7400-7400. I had the pleasure of hipfiring my barrett into his face for the gwk.

Starting to like the maps better. Also hoping against hope that the emphasis on smaller, run and gun maps will mean seeing Bog as DLC.

The buildings don't make sense, the stairs inside every building don't make sense, catwalks and hallways leading to other buildings don't make sense. And Kalyx is right, they have the most generic names ever.

Village. Dome. Outpost. Mission.

Mission is easily the worst ever created and that isn't hyperbole.

I was having a discussion with my cousin earlier tonight after someone accused him of camping.

Id like your opinions on this, as he and I play similar styles. Is there a difference between camping and area denial?

I've always considering camping sitting in one spot or one corner or what have you with the gun aimed hard at the door and waiting to fire at the slightest movement that goes by. In short, a skillless playstyle.

Area denial is where you pick an area of the map to control and defend it against attacks. For example there are three corners, lets name them A, B, and C and next to A is a doorway and next to C is a doorway and next to B is a small ledge you can use for cover.

What I sometimes do is hang around and kill someone, check the map to see,where they likely spawned and then go the opposite way. They come running in the A door, I'm outside the C door and pop them as they run into the next room. Next ill go to the corner by A, as they will inevitably run back again and they get knifed in the back.

Ill likely lay by B this time and let them run by and then stalk them to somewhere else and shoot them there to make them think that's where I am now.

Next ill go to a completely different area and repeat the process.

So I ask, was I camping or playing a strategy and thus was my cousin camping.

Well there's a few thoughts I have on this:

The thing is, these games are about firefights. Shooting at people and getting shot at, and taking cover is smart. Fuck that. Once I find a decent spot in Battlefield 3's Rush mode, I will sit my ass down the entire game if it means keeping an MCOM clear.

Now the problem arises in the balance issue. If somebody is not just in a good hiding spot, but some out of the way area that has little to do with the gametype - just padding the K/D stats, I call that gay. Whether on my team or not, I hate seeing meaningless camping by Recons with no clue. At the very least there's a spot mechanic.

In CoD, the game (up until they launched with these 4x4 mouse maps) pretty much encouraged camping. It's so engrained in people's playstyle they still camp in a Kill Confirmed game, a mode designed to cut that shit down. They rather lose than not camp.

Anyway, do what the fuck wins a game and helps your team. Don't explain shit to anybody, don't rationalize. Just don't be a dick about it. This is like the discussion of what spamming is in a fighting game (truth is, it's all in your head).

Basically what Kalyx said. If you're playing skirmish game modes where you defend, it's NEVER camping. To me, kill cams should be your anti camping tool...you see where and how they killed you ffs, if you're not smart enough to adapt, don't bitch that someone is playing the field better than you.

1) Tact grenade
2) Grenade launcher (this is what its supposed to be used for)

MK46+kick+silencer is working beautifully for me. Once I get 2 attachments unlocked, I'll throw grip/silencer on and see if it's any better.
