I talked to Paul Bearer's ghost last night after the show. He said he's very happy to be part of such a major WWE storyline in the state he's in.

The initial reaction by the crowd even shows how "whoaaaa now" that was. It is a shame the twats decided to cheer CM Punk because their cool and ruin the moment anyway.

I wonder how they could have misrepresented what they were going to do to his sons. Did they leave out that Heyman would dress as Paul Bearer? I can easily seeing it be a deal where on paper it seems OK, but once it became a reality it was far too much far too soon for his sons. I couldn't have handled any of the things WWE has done if I were in their situation.

I watched a Lawler interview where he talked about the Heyman fake heart attack thing. He said it walked that fine line between controversial and offensive. If they had done it more slapstick (think Red Foxx) then it wouldn't have been all that big of deal.

Starts at 16:45

Obviously it is apples and oranges, but other than the initial shock from "OHHHHH YESSS!" and things, I didn't think it was anything more potentially offensive than what they've done lately. Either you are o.k. with them using Paul Bearer's death or you aren't.

Courtesy of prowrestling.net, the following is a text message that was sent from William Moody's son Michael to WWE regarding his posting on Facebook last night:

"Hey. I woke up in time to watch the tail end of the show. What you explained would happen happened. Which is fine. Just it was a little difficult to watch it play out. I put a message on Facebook last night saying that we approved it but it wasn't what I envisioned. That I didn't have anything to say. Well woke up this morning and that quote is being used all over 'media outlets.' For the record. I was fine w(ith) it. Was hard to watch but y'all are professionals and I trust."

This feud probably should have had Vince McMahon more heavily involved, though, since Brock did F-5 him.
The more likely real-world reason that this isn't happening probably stems from what happened a few years ago when Donald Trump "bought" Raw - investors demanded to know what was going on to the point that the FTC started an investigation.

Come on. Seriously? What do you want - for everyone to just blindly react to every situation in the exact way that the WWE has intended, paying no attention to their own personal opinions, dislikes and likes?

The Cena reactions were more than a "handful of guys." It was the whole arena.

And if one or two fan reactions really is enough to ruin a segment for you, then you place far too much weight on unimportant details and the opinions of others. This isn't 90's Hulkamania.

John Cena getting boo'd is different because he sucks at his job as #1 babyface. You had a section chanting CM Punk when he was clearly being an evil bastard. Out of respect for CM Punk, you should boo him when he is clearly being an excellent evil bastard.

I also don't see how I am in the wrong for getting bothered by these jackasses. Like the one guy who kept yelling shit at The Rock during his promo. It is distracting.

Then get ready to be distracted as all hell at WrestleMania in New York - a throng of fans who are bound to yell shit at both The Rock and John Cena, possibly chant for CM Punk to end the streak, and most likely cheer on Dolph Ziggler when he potentially cashes in MITB and Randy Orton when he potentially RKO's Sheamus and Big Show.

You're not "in the wrong" for being bothered by these "jackasses." But these kind of fan reactions are the kind of thing that made ECW so great - the fans choosing who to boo and who to cheer, regardless of what the storyline was supposed to make them feel. I realize it's also part of what makes the Impact Zone such a shit place to shoot TV (as they will cheer anyone), but when the fans are cheering CM Punk as he busts Undertaker over the head with an urn filled with human remains, I think it just speaks to the fact that CM Punk is just that good. We love to hate him.

It is one thing if it is an organic reaction, but it was small enough to not seem organic and big enough to be annoying. It just seemed to be a bunch of pricks trying to be "cute little smarks".
